here in malaysia we have M550MP. im not sure about the 120hz but I THINK what is actually happening is that the panel itself IS 120hz. But, the HDMI 2.1 ports is not. EVEN THOUGH by right HDMI 2.1 should support 4k 120HZ, all the hdmi ports labelled 4k 60HZ only so ended up when im gaming to the tv, its basically 60hz, even dropping resolution does not help. Feels cheated lol. I guess i have to try the steam link feature later see if play wirelessly to the tv, will it do above 60hz in game. It also missing few option? like the VRR, PC SYnc, Freesync, (region dependencies)
I noticed that on your review you are showing the TV model that has the Android TV platform. The Google platform. That TV is not available where I am at. Only the Toshiba fire TV is available. Maybe that's why it's different I don't know. Where I'm at there is no subwoofer on the TV.
The US version the "55M550KU" has no subwoofer, has no Football Mode or other features. The US version is average at best. I just bought mine two days before writing this, and it's going back. I looked behind mine and it has a plastic plug where the Woofer is supposed to be.
@@gtpyak I personally love it for the sale price. Plays games so smoothly and looks crisp. I'd be a little disappointed to pay the retail price and not have the Subwoofer, but being cut $470, I'd say it's worth it. I personally like that I can use Alexa voice commands when the remote gets lost or misplaced. So much more convenient to switch inputs imo.
@@HRL-yp1qx companies shouldnt change the specs of their models ffs. Leave it as is. If you cant source the parts anymore, dont facking make it, right?
@@ericpeterson2960 It is very confusing! If it is because of the source, they can find other supplier and keep the same functions (or even a better part and announce a M550 variant). Cutting down the function is not cool at all! shouldn't cut down any functionality! Because of the same model number, all the review I watched before I buy this tv is the android-variant with the awesome sound system!
I got 65" Toshiba android TV, unluckily the android is only version 6 and updatev or upgrade software is unavailable. Do you have any idea how to upgrade firmware to the latest android version?
What are the best picture and motion processing settings? My motion processing whether set to on or off always looks bad especially with hdr content. It is mostly with motion around people's movements. Their hands and feet have pixelations around them during movement or gets jittery. Even quickly scrolling through Netflix titles for example will start to jitter the images, doesn't stay in clear motion.
figured it out. Have to do a firmware update , and then set the motion processing to "film" setting. Everytime the tv turns off, the setting will get reset even though it shows film still checked. You have to select a different setting, then put it back to film after every TV turn on. Hope this helps someone
@@ericviola8659 Hey man, bought this TV and I was wondering about the same. Did you get to play around with the settings and arrive at some values for best quality?
@@gsanjaik most I figured out was to do a firmware update to help fix the motion processing issue. I found only switching to "film" mode took care of the pixelation. The other modes did not. Everytime you shut the tv off it will reset the motion processing setting back to a pixelated one again. You have to re-select "film" after every start up or reset. All my other settings such and edge sharpening ect are different based upon the video source. I noticed each type of film had it own settings. For example a hdr 10 movie would have its own settings since it's in hdr 10. When I go to say a regular HD movie I notice the settings tv picture settings were different from what I just set. I think I have found 3 or 4 of them you have to change. There's Dolby, Dolby hdr, hdr 10, and regular content. Idk it's kinda silly they do it that way. But I did notice some universal settings do not play well on each source. Image enhancement makes dark scenes look super grainy in hdr 10 but makes regular HD stuff look a lot sharper without film grain ect ect. You get what you pay for in this case lol.
@@quesedabeast18 Why do they keep complaining about 120hz, when ps5 and xbox don't have games that run at 120 I don't understand, hahaha it's funny, because on ps5 they only have 3 games and on xbox the same, why do I want to pay double or more just for 120 hz no makes sense
@@DAG42085 because it's about the future games coming out longevity wise are going to be 120hz standard you can't pay money for a tv that doesn't have the necessary features.....if your main focus is a gaming tv then this isn't it
@@DAG42085 there are games running at 120fps. Doom Eternal is one example, as well as most of the recent Call of Duty games. There is a list online of the games supported
Apparently while this tv has 120hz capabilities, the HDMI ports are limited to 60hz. So no this tv does not support 120hz for series X or any console for that matter.
do i have a different version of this TV or something? mine sounds like it has a subwoofer, the damn TV makes the floor shake w/ the volume as low as 22. however, the space w/ the in-question subwoofer has a cover over it unlike the one showed in this video. but the space for it is there. also, my remote looks nothing like that one. what’s the deal here, anybody know???
most TV's have rubbish inbuilt speakers, this model seems to impress every reviewer with the sound quality it provides out of the box. You can check other reviews and they all point out the inbuilt speakers are something to admire.
