You should have fully disassembled, disconnected both batteries, washed all thoroughly (screen only wiped), and thoroughly dried for several days. And I'd highly recommend removing all stickers, thoroughly sanding, and properly painting all except screen, keyboard, ports (covering those and air vents before painting or separating entire outside shells).
That is for full restoration of the laptop/PC. This video is all about Toshiba Satellite A100 Upgrading CPU, and RAM only using salvage hardware parts from other Toshiba laptop. Thanks for watching and sharing your knowledge and idea.
What is the model number of your toshiba? If your laptop mainboard supports the RAM upgrading and has a free or open memory slot yes you can. 4gb Maximum for the 32 bit system RAM upgrade for older device.
I have A100 PSAAKL , it can be installed with 2 x 2GB ddr2 sodimm but not stable, so the max is 1 x 2GB or 2 x 1GB, also the ati radeon xpress 200m driver only stable for Windows 7? Any idea to un-e-waste it?
If the hardware is made for win 7 the driver support is also for win 7. You find another driver on the net but it is not recommended because it may also be unstable. You can still use win 7 OS and drivers for your a100, but you can't get support from microsoft. For a100 series the maximum ram you can install is 3gb even if you install 4gb of ram the system will only read and use 3gb.
Kindly check if the 4gb ram you install is compatible with that pc. Is it 4gb on a single ram? I use 2gb per ram so 4gb in total ram for this tutorial video. But the system reads 2.99 or 3gb only for the 4gb ram installed. Because this pc is a 32bit only. 4gb or more is for 64bit pc and device. Check the specs of the ram i use for this pc ram upgrade. Or test your ram on another pc to know if it is working or faulty ram that causes the pc shutdown, if the other pc keeps shutting down then the ram is faulty not your A100 pc.
Supported CPU is x86/32-Bit only. Install 2x 2GB DDR2 LPDIMM SDRAM (Laptop DDR2). Highly recommended lightweight Linux, like Lubuntu, instead of Windows. Not all RAM will be available, as there's a limit to how much memory 32-bit architecture can handle, and onboard graphics will use some RAM as VRAM.
The old toshiba laptops are designed to operate for specific cpu and ram. Some can be upgraded to new components but it is not recommended. The recommended upgrading for old laptops is RAM, HDD, and Compatible Operating System only. Because windows no longer supports the old operating system that works for old devices and hardware. It is useless to upgrade the old laptop now that has no support for the new operating system and hardware. I tried to upgrade my old laptop for learning purposes and showed that it is informative to see how old device or hardware upgrading works when it is possible and can be done without any issue.
nope. you can not... the Toshiba A100 on this tutorial is so old. my upgrading attempt for this device is limited for that processor only. that processor is only dual core, and 32bit only. unfortunately the last windows OS that you can install for that device is windows 8.1 without any problem for drivers. but you can install windows 10 but drivers are not supported and some hardware will not function or work even for 32bit windows 10.
If the design of the motherboard is for 32 bit system only, the hardware included on that device will support for 32 bit only. So it is not recommended to upgrade to 64 bit cpu for devices that is not designed to work for 64 bit system or cpu.
For Toshiba satellite A100 796 what do you recommend to upgrade? Maximum ram to put 2 gb, which processor can be put? ssd how many gb? 🇮🇹 Translation: Per in Toshiba satellite A100 796 cosa consigli per fare upgrade? Ram massime da mettere 2 gb, processore che si può mettere? ssd quanti gb?
Toshiba Sattelite A100 796 is also an outdated and discontinued product. the processor is also core duo and the device is 32bit only and not capable to handle 64bit windows 11, the processor is not recommended to upgrade, but you can upgrade the ram to 4gb max. and the HD or SSD to 500gb. it is not recommemded to install a larger data storage on an outdated and discontinued device. but if you upgrade the ram to 4gb max and 500gb HD SSD that device will serve you as a secondary pc only. because the last OS that you can install for that device is win 8.1 pro 32bit or windows 10 pro 32bit.
@@perfectsilencecreation I Understand very well. but I don't know what RAM to put in it. can you send me a link. the PC says it's expandable up to 2gb, while some say I can go up to 4gb overall. For Windows 7 is also fine for me. It is used to navigate and use office or word. What advice can you give me about RAM? for SSD 240GB no more.
the maximum ram that you can install for a 32 bit system or device is 4gb but the 32 bit only system and device will make the 4gb ram to only 2.99gb or 3gb only for available ram, because 4gb or more ram is for 64 bit system and device. you can install and use windows 7 or windows 8.1 on that pc but both OS are now not supported by microsoft for future security updates. for hard disk or SSD, 500gb more or less is not a problem for that pc, you can find and use a second hand or salvage it from an old pc. if you want a new HD or SSD you can search it online for the specs and price list. its a country base price and availability.
@@perfectsilencecreation If I put 4 GB of RAM, does the PC only read 3 GB, or does 4 GB always work? Is it true that to get the total RAM working you need to go into BIOS?
