Hey everyone and thank you for 21:52 of your time. In this video I restore and upgrade an older ASUS laptop and I have tried something different, connecting eGPU ( external desktop graphic ) to the laptop. With some upgrades and eGPU the performances are incredibly different. It's experimental only but is nice to see how something is game changing.

His English is very good, however, I do have a few corrections in regards to your English. "A English student" should be "An English student" if its a vowel you use an if it's a Consonant you use a. "mocking on" is incorrect syntax you would just use mocking as it is a transitive verb

This was the exact same laptop I had when I was 15. And I had such good memories playing on it with my best friend. Watching you being able to play GTA V on it almost brought a tear to my eye. 👍

I think it'll work better if the graphic card has more memory. The bandwidth is still too small compare to full length pci-e. The less the transmission the better it'll work.

Old is not mean bad :D many older laptops are far better than new cheap laptops. same is with desktops, my firend has PC with x58 motherboard and i7 xtreme, this is 10 yrs old pc, trough the years he just upgrade the GPU, and today he still play games with 70+ FPS on max

@@ComputersAndTechAndAndrew Lol same! I'm still rocking and rolling a i7-950, Sabertooth X58, 20 GB of RAM, and a GTX 960! Plays almost every game at or around 60 FPS. The old X58 platform still has a bunch of potential!

All DVD in PC or Laptop are using SATA interface, hence you can swap it with harddrive easily

If you buy the part, buy an SSD, and have the tools and some patience, you should be able to make the upgrade.

Same laptop like mine, but it is 14" model (A43S). I've upgraded it much, such as cpu (pentium b960 to i7-2630qm), ram (2x4gb), hdd (320gb to 1tb). Gonna plan to have 240GB ssd installed here and gtx 960 like yours. Good work btw!

I have a PC like you too! I buy it on online, the motherboard is 11 years old now. It was i3 2100 before, I turned into i5 2500k and I put a RX 580 on it. It works fine and run many games 40 fps - 50fps.

I ve upgraded my laptop from 4 GB of ram to 16 GB of ram and from 1 TB hdd to 1 TB ssd (it already has a i5 and nvidia gf 840 M) and it runs very good. Highly recomand ssd.

Before you do any upgrade to your pc or laptop check out details on your motherboard because each has limit how high you can go with upgrades like ram or cpu etc. If you go over limit with upgrades on your motherboard you will fry it.

Not bad, this was a great test of the eGPU! Personally, I would not use the eGPU on this laptop, since the laptop only has a dual core processor, and also, it means losing the built in Wi-Fi. Yes, an external Wi-Fi adapter can be used (and will probably work faster too), however it reduces portability and increases the chance of the adapter being pulled/snagged in the USB port. I would also have kept the DVD drive. Back in 2019, SSD prices were high, but nowadays, you can get 960GB Kingston A400 for under £40, which is enough to not even bother with 2.5 HDD anymore.

Hi, I got one second hand about 2-3 months back in pieces & reassembled it just recently. 😊🙄 Is the maximum RAM capped at only 8 GB (PC3-10600) or can it handle even 16 GB (i.e. PC3-12800) ? What about CPU upgrade ? Is the i7 2670QM really the maximum or... ? i7 2860QM/2960XM maybe ? 😑 So to what version did you update the BIOS to ? I thought the 221 version was the last. Because people still use old phones/tablets/computers, not everyone gets a upgrade every year, i still use an 2011 Samsung Galaxy Ace and a computer from 2007

Hey! I love your videos Andrew, they are so informative! I upgrade old laptops for fun too. Have you reviewed the M.2 x4 version of the EXP GDC yet? I don't think anyone on RU-vid has managed to get that one working so far (or maybe I just didn't see the video).

Thank you bro, i got m.2 version week ago and i test it, work much better but is only for newer laptops, also work on desktop computer via m.2 connection, now am making more tests to see what all can be done with this new exp
