I'm expecting a 330kg squat from u in the near future. according to Toshiki, your legs have the potential for it (which means it isn't just an opinion, but objective fact)
As a professional composer and extremely amateur weightlifter, the John Powell cue at the start absolutely sent me, did not expect to see those two things I love collide 🤣 had to wind back the vid to make sure I didn't imagine it. Top work as always!
@@nicholastartaglia4276 Probably because of COVID. They'll most likely plan more trips in the future, maybe another one several months or a year from now.
Gigachad (huanhua) competed as an 89 at worlds last year, and even though he was in the 96s at the asian champs, he weighed in at like 89.1 or something to try and compete with Li and Tian. He still hit 175/210, and tried to hit 223 for the clean and jerk twice to get an unofficial 89 WR away from Tian (in spirit) He's very much in the running but just needs stronger legs
Ive doing this squat workout routine ever since your video with senpai and my squat is blowing up. My lifts also have been improving. It’s simple, freaking hard, but super effect. I started with 150kg for 5x5 then 100kg for 3x10. Today I did 182kg for 5x5 a personal best with a drop set of a 100kg and it feels easy. Feel less gassed. Great content. Slava sikastan!

18:32 The suit adds 10-20kg to your deadlift… if you know how to manipulate the suit’s compression. There’s a steep learning curve with the suit. Graham is using a multi-ply suit here. I use a single ply suit. My best raw deadlift is at 225kg. With the single ply suit, I pulled 235kg.
From what I’ve seen on the IWF site, Liu Huanhua has moved up to 102 for worlds, so I’m really excited to see how it goes for him, especially if Shi Zhiyong is still out of shape and they need a competitor in a different class
As Barkley's coach I'd be very concerned if the cleans regularly look like that. The front rack and walk back looked like it was a step away from multiple ways of injury. Strong lift but scary. I'm curious about the deadlift suit's popularity. The gear powerlifters say it's the least useful suit of the three and barely makes a difference in comparison.
Nicholas du Preez is competing at the next ABS competition in Ireland in the next few weeks so should be putting up some crazy numbers over the next month
i think the chinese representative in paris will actually be Liu Huanhua (gigachad) because it seems his snatch is close to Li's and his clean and jerk is much closer to Tian. I think if he gets the chance at worlds he can absoluteley out total both of them considering his 175 snatch and how close his 223 was at asian champs while he weighed 90kg ish.
This isn't the most robust statistic or data point to fully get a picture of how much a deadlift suit adds to someone's lift but as an example. In the 2021 World Deadlift Championship, Oleksii Novikov pulled 425kg for the first time in competition. Max deadlift events are actually extremely rare in strongman competitions so the only somewhat comparable event I could find without jumping too far forward/backward for the amount of training inbetween to make the difference irrelevant without the use of a suit was the max deadlift on the elephant bar at the Rogue Invitational where Oleksii pulled 391kg but the elephant bar is hardly comparable to a regular deadlift bar All of his training footage I can see from 2021 he was using a suit in training so it's really hard to say what he was pulling max without it. He did start putting on the suit at around 330kg for what that's worth
Something to note about throwing is that the only category which has seen a world record wipe is javelin, because uwe hohn threw so far that they needed to make the implement heavier. This means that in shot, discus, and hammer, everyone is still competing against old super doped world records The reason RC has been able to beat the old shotput record is that he has just about perfected the spin technique in shotput, which has only been around for a few decades. The old technique was the glide. Ryan crouser threw 17/21 throws over 23m and has thrown about a third of all 22m throws.
The previous shot put world record was set by Randy Barnes, who also spun and failed multiple drug tests which led to him being banned from the sport. What makes you so sure everyone competing today is clean? You seriously think none of the modern competitors setting world records are "super doped"?
@@milanojudo yeah i over simplified it and didnt write it the best since i did it in just a couple of minutes i dont think modern athletes arent doping. i think that they are doping less than in the 80s and 90s, and that it is a very logical conclusion to come to if you look at the development of anti doping and the decline in performance by athletes across many sports since the 80s and 90s. btw crouser and randy throw almost the same but crouser has better technique also here are the logical fallacies you committed: black or white (either only super doped or completely clean), very minor ad hominem (asking the same question twice in a manner that insinuates that i am stupid), attempted loaded question (attempting to make me say something that would delegitimize what i wrote by making me look stupid and naive by asking the two previously mentioned questions) + strawman (saying that i am "sure everyone competing today is clean" when all i said is that world records that stand in discus, javelin, hammer, and the old world records in shotput were done by super doped athletes)
I wonder if deadlift suits give you a set amount of kilos or a percentage on your lift. I assume the former. When I first put one on, it gave me 20 kg on top of my conventional (which didn't change at all with training or with a tighter suit), which was a bit under 10% then but I'm very weak off the floor, so I may just benefit more than others. Idc tho, I hate them and wish they'd be banned from strongman. Hate using them.
Imo it totally depends on the leverages and whether or not you know how to use the suit properly. When I tried the suit for the first time it added literally zero kgs to my deadlift. I ended up getting maybe 5-7kg to my max after some time, which honestly was kinda pointless at that point, so I just switched back to deadlifting raw.
He doesn't clean and jerk 220+ though, he did 210 at the 2023 AWC, where Li did 216 and Tian 222. He's over 10 kg behind in the total atm. But I believe he has a better chance than Tian given his snatch is already really good.
@@AdStellae- yes he does. he only did 210 because he jumped to 223 and nearly made it at the AWC. we have seen a 220 on video from him and he recently did 225 at the Chinese Test event.
