I had to buy it because at the time i thought it would be sort of a spin off sequel to the classic atari game HARD DRIVIN' lol. Even though i was a bit disappointed it had nothing to do with it, its still a brill game in its own right
Nice one Paul. Another one of my favs. You didn't mention it's unique control system though. Using the triggers in combination with the d-pad you could get 3 different amounts of "lock" on the steering - so holding say L1+L2 whilst turning left gave you the sharpest/tightest turn. Great fun this one - when you get used to the controls you can really hammer along at speed.
This game looks fantastic for the time it was released. I don't think I've ever heard of it before. It makes me wonder how many other old games are out there waiting to be discovered. 🚗
the ps1 is actually a tricky one to capture on my capture device as it keeps switching modes as games are loading. Im unsure why the ps1 does that, I think its just. a bug In how Sony did it. It plays havoc on my composite capture device.
paulisthebest3uk yeah it uses multiple resolutions and interlaced or progressive screens on the fly I think. I noticed it when trying to use my yPbPr cable. Some screens display and some don’t.
Yes absolutely. It controls like ridge racer pretty much. It doesnt support analogue controls on the later ps1 control pads or rumble feature either so you are restricted to using the DPAD. Probably one of ocean softwares last games. It sort of reminds me of Multi Racing Championship on the Nintendo 64 which was also fantastic in my personal opinion
