1.8 inches longer than the previous generation, and has a third row...the previous generation was two row only. They definitely nailed the interior packaging to make that third row relatively useful.

Very true! Although the Santa Fe XL existed for a while before the Palisade launched, it shares the same WB as this new generation, but was about 3" longer overall. Either way the 3 rows are definitely functional and a compelling reason to want to consider it.

Are you going to be able to do a review of the hybrid preferred with Trend??? Really hoping to see that!

I'll be attending AJAC's EcoRun this year in June, one of the vehicles on the circuit is the Santa Fe Hybrid, although I don't know what trim it'll be. I've requested to do a video on it so I'm hoping we'll have a review of it soon!

People dogged the rear end of the Santa Fe. But desire a G-Wagon, which also has low taillights. The irony!

Fair point!

I love the mixure of physical and touch capacitive. It's a blend of old and new technology. If it had too buttons in the interior, then it would look outdated, in my opinion. It takes away from the modern look of the interior.

Fair enough! Nile spent a bit of time with the Hybrid recently, and James had the Ultimate Calligraphy this past week. The interior certainly works for this vehicle.

SUVs are often aimed at outdoor enthusiasts. But on this Santa Fe they put the rear lights at the worst height if you're carrying a bike.

They (and Kia) have been doing that for years, and they don't seem to want to change it. The third generation Kia Sportage also puts the rear lights at the bottom.

That's a great point! The low position of turn signals can be dangerous, and brands need to stop doing it. There's plenty of ways the rear design of this could have been changed to increase the functionality of the tail lights while retaining a somewhat cohesive design.

You haven't mentioned anything on the 'kill switch' feature

Is that something due to the thefts in the USA? Wouldn’t be a feature here, as Canadian law has required vehicles to include engine immobilizers since 2007.

The rear end is no bueno.

We hear that quite a bit. Wonder if Hyundai will make a major change with a facelift.

The problem with the Santa Fe is that it has the worst rear design in its class. Most countries in the world say the same thing. I don't know why Hyundai designed this very ugly rear design, which I consider to be a visual distortion on the road ⁉️

I'm not sure either, it's really not good looking. Reminds me of those SpaceCaps used on pickup trucks for work/jobsites.

There's a reason for the design of the tailgate. To maximize, I widen cargo space. It's best in class because of it.
