The military snares that come in at 0:50 kinda sound like a moving train. I wonder if that was intentional, given the game's themes of industrialisation and modernisation.
I remember wanting this game for years, and then when I got the 2 day demo of FotS and regular Shogun 2 on Steam, I played 17 straight hours on it. Fucking amazing. Got shogun 2 now with 111 hours clocked in, but I really miss FotS
This track gives me goosebumps when the action starts in battle. I didn't know they've done such a great job in the fall of the samurai expansion. Glad I bought the game with it included 💪🏼😎
What i love Japan that they find way to mix the superior technology from Western civilization but they remain with their tradition and faith almost untouched.
The name is kind of cheesy, but the song is ABSOLUTELY amazing. Just listening to this makes my blood and adrenaline flow rapidly. I can feel the very tension and situation that is taking place just by listening to this. It feels so powerful. 🇯🇵
The Emperor was re-installed as ruler of Japan by western JAPANESE clan who were disatisfied by the Shogun's foreign trade policy. The Shogun was not the traditional lord of the japanese, in theory he should be something like a military advisor/defense minister for the Emperor who was (again in theory) the true ruler of Japan.

Fuck people that hate on fall of the samurai, even if there are line of sight issues sometimes, it is still the most badass game I have ever played. The music, the time period, and oh my god the weapons are so badass. In what other game can you realistically match up bows against revolvers, so cool.

They don't even have the vision left to concieve of The Three KIngdoms for thier next obvious game to further destroy the francise, with kindergarten capture the flag illogical gameplay. I mean what's the point? No terrain considerations after 10+years of terrain considerations? It's not the same game series. Shogun2 was the last TW title. But, yeah. Cool you like Van Dyck too. Look up his work on other games. He's just awesome on whatever he works on.

You don't decide if you want help or not. the campaign part where YOU come in, is after the alliance with France. And just cus you said that doesn't mean that the old school troops is better than the new school because their not. And I won over 1 bow hero,samurai hero,warrior monk hero,Hime Heroines, yari hero, hanzo's shadows,Tetsubo Warriors ( I can't remember the other heroes) against one french marine.
The American side is a bit more complex than that. They didn't understand the relationship between the Shogun and the Emperor at the time, so they supported both, and when they finally found out how things were it was a little bit late.
Actually the Choshu and Satsuma Clans (Pro-Imperialist),respectivly, that attacked the european ships because of theirr nationalistic feelings and ideologies.When they saw that they where technologically backwards they sought the support of the westerners by guarenteeing them that once they were in power they would be an economical powerhouse to westerners. nope, the emperor is the traditionnal leader, the God on earth, but he was mostly a hollow symbol, and the shogun generaly take care of the state and politics, but the emperor is technically above him.
Learn to shoot from a musket in 1 or 2 days? that would be probably as effective as shooting from a bow after learning it for 1 or 2 days. It's easier to shoot from the musket but you need to practice much longer, especialy reloading.
the part of forcing the europeans away is only part of the preserve "Samurai way of life-plan". With the europeans fiddling about the Samurai will become obsolete.
Actually it was the Shogunate who supported more involvement with the West and it was the the Emperor who supported the "Expel the Barbarians" effort. Ironically the west became even more involved with Japan after the war cause the Emperor realized it was in their interest. By the end of the War his new motto was "Rich Country, Strong Army". It was the anti west xenophobes who backed the Empire not the Shogun.

Nah, they say that in-game, but it was the Shogunate that closed the land, the emperor wanted to modernize and stuff. it was shogun-friendly soldiers that attacked the european ships.
the last samurai have nothing to with this either, the Samurai rebelling are the Satsuma/Shimazu clan, they revolt because the emperor is trying to modernize and remove the samurai
Well , all of you , guess what , the two sides had access to western weapons and occidentals have supported both of the two sides ( but not always in a form of military help coming from the State , it was also some individuals merchants providing weapons for example ) . I know that the French had trained some troops for the Shogunate and tried at the beginning to help them , but I don't know if the others country officially helped one of the side .
I may fall, but my Samurai continue to charge against waves of bullets in the sea of battle. They charge against an enemy which looks impossible to destroy, an enemy hiding cowardly behind a rain of metal and death. They charge, in the name of Bishamonten! THEY CHARGE IN THE NAME OF HONOUR!! TO DEATH AND GLORY!!!!
See the Tokugawa and Imperial forces weren't actually at war, they were stone cold bro til the end. However once Godzilla showed up they realized they had to crank the bro power up to about a 70 which they were only at about a 30..so you can see by cranking it up to 70 they were able to be the sickest mofos in Japan there by once again imprisoning Godzilla in the dark oceans below.
Actually you're all wrong, when Godzilla first attacked Japan in the 1500's Japan was forced to trade with other foriegn powers for stronger weapons to combat the nuclear breathe attack that he used. Therefore when the other countries came over and realized exactly what they were up against they ran in fear and instead of spreading the word of Godzilla exsisting they simply closed the borders of Japan to the west..
