They see souls, so regular humans do appear to Cygors just not as brightly as mages.

When you see a giant roaring cyclops wandering in your direction, the first of your reaction would be hiding from it. Also, there is no Wiki in Warhammer universe that the man could just read and know all about cygors and their eyesight.

Trailers are trailers and do not give a rating to a game. They don't add the blood so they can keep the game PG-13 and then afterwards they add the blood dlc. Buying it means you agree that you're old enough or have permission from a parent. It absolves them from any responsability or any legal case they could otherwise get in the future.

They've been good at times, at the release of mortal empires they were a good MP faction, even after they did ok until the DLC uplifted many factions to a higher tie.

Dismounted reiksguard knights i can understand but " Dismounted Reiksguard halberdiers" ? What is this shit, it's not from warhammer.

It's from a custom unit mod and technically from an immersion standpoint considering historical time period relevancy towards the WHF Universe, halberdiers/pikemen/spearmen would be far more numerous than swordsmen due to requisition and cost issues regarding the materials and forging of arms. Granted that Reiksguard are already full plate veteran nobles who would already have the financial necessity to supply themselves, it's a mute point but it's very accurate. You also have to take into account that the human elements for the WHF Universe were also mostly designed during the 1970-1980s if not even longer ago and despite their intentions, (and I don't mean to hate on them) Games Workshop is shit on making their lore relatively accurate to historical replica variants for areas of expertise that would qualify ie: anything not fantasy in its entirety or based off magic. Take for example CAs take on Steam Tanks. There's less than 12 in existence counting every single one that was manufactured. Of the 12, less than 4 are still in Empire hands in a state that is considered combat acceptable. Of those 4, they are the equivalent of trying to get a WWI era tank to run backwards through a quagmire. Did CA take this into account? They didn't because they probably didn't bother to research very deeply into it and that most people who play the game are casuals and not entirely interested in the lore. What about the Empires general swordsmen and spearmen? The Empire is well known for having large "state" militias which are relatively highly trained for being militias and decently equipped by the local nobility but their primary armaments should be spears/pikes/halberds/axes/clubs/warhammers/etc, anything that is not entirely made of iron or a combination of steel as not only were they extremely expensive and rarer, but also paid for by the "state" ie: nobility. Another way to think of it is resource from attrition. A historical example is the Hundred Years War led to the relative end of English longbowmen because the longbows they used were made from a very specific type of Yew tree which was almost made extinct in England and its controlled territories (combined with the advancement and refinery of gunpowder towards the end). The Empire relies heavily on trade with the Dwarfs for most of their metal, I'm pretty sure that in the CA version of the realm of man, the Empire and the Dwarfs are not in good places to maintain healthy supplies of materials. If you follow the lore to the letter, it would be even more unlikely since the Dwarfs are probably the most devastated faction at the current time of Karl Franz even more so than the Elfs.

I think the Dismounted Reiksguard should be called the Imperial Foot. The Reiksguard Knights are also called the Imperial Cavalry

Commissar Gaunt Yes halberdiers are the core infantry of any imperial army and the swordsmen are more often detachments assigned to them for flanking/counter charging (as it's stated in the lore) but reiksguards are knights and even if they can dismount, they'll still use their normal equipment and not halberds. So reiksguard halberdiers is just wrong. On the steel part, the Empire is XVIth century and at this time, steel making was mastered and cheap with industrial scale foundries and armories. Big deposit of iron being available almost everywhere (like in the Empire). So the problem with the swordmen is not the cost of the material but the time it takes to train them (in the TT swordsmen have close combat 4 instead of the 3 of other state troops). You can see the mastery the imperial smiths have with steel in their heavy armor: The thin, light, well fitting armor of the greatswords give the same protection as the heavy cumbersome chaos armor. The Empire relies on the dwarfs for the really masterwork items (and some magical stuff) for some nobles and really elite units not for their core needs. But again my point was against reiksguard knights with halberds :) For the steam tanks, use your imagination: Perhaps it's carried on the field on horse carriage and reassembled at destination. Perhaps they are only used when the terrain is deemed right by the engineers like a dry flat plain or as semi static defense :)

Going off the Second Edition "Old World Armoury" 2005-2009 editions: "Elite soldiers in the service to the Empire, such as the Swordsmen and Halberdiers, often wear mail armour as it is more affordable and more common than the coveted plate armour." "With the founding of the Empire and the generally good relations between the Imperials and the Dwarf clans, the armourers naturally offered gifts of these exquisite suits of armour to the Mannish races. What the Dwarfs did not expect, however, was Human ingenuity and greed. The Humans took the techniques for forging heavy armour from their neighbors, and though it's not as high in quality as Dwarfen-forged armour, it is serviceable enough for Imperial Knights. There are many variations of heavy armour in the Empire. *(Detailing about each specific color and emblem for the different orders for sixty lines)* Perhaps more than anywhere in the Old World, armour in the Empire allows a warrior to mark his house, service to an Elector, and Order to which he vows allegiance." Full plate according to the WHFRP is 400 gold coins just for standard issue plate armour made of a combination of iron and steel and is considered extremely rare. Plate armour by individual is considered rare and ranged from 30 gold coins for a helmet to 70 gold coins just for a single piece of breast plate compared to mail which is price at 170 gold coins for a full suit or even a gambeson and full tunic for 25 gold coins which is what most of the State troops would wear. In addition, it is stated that only the territories of Wissenland have the industrial and resource capacity by themselves to manufacture the advanced armaments and armours of the Empire which is of itself meaning a few cities within, primarily that of Nuln. Moving towards weapons: "Poor craftsmanship swords are made of inferior materials such as bronze or cast iron while the more advanced craftsmanship feature runic inscriptions and made of pure iron or steel. Many quality blades come from the Dwarf clan-holds but there are several weapon smiths of merit within the Empire's lands. In fact Sylnvania once produced some of the finest blades in the land; though those days are long gone." Costs of swords range from 70 gold coins to 350 gold coins ranging from standard short swords and cutlass to great swords whereas polearms range from 10-15 gold coins. From a logistical and organizational view coming from the "De Re Militari" which the Empire closely mimics, the mitigation of their weaponry organization would hail closer to mass polearms over mass swords even in their elite formations. The reason being that while they would most likely use both types of weaponry in large numbers, replacements and repairs as a battle wages on or during prolonged sieges, they will shift more and more to polearms due to their extremely common availability to swords which are normally scarce or rare. Combine it with the requisitions costs added on top of the price per soldier, it's excessive even for the Elector-Counts. Think of it this way, a Reiksguard infantryman would cost roughly 550-750 gold coins in equipment just to have a sword, full plate, and a secondary weapon such as another sword or polearm. This is assuming they are of the common craftsmanship and not advanced forging which would significantly increase the cost. The lower 550ish range would be for a Reiksguard using polearms whereas 750ish would be towards great swords and other heavy swords without polearms. If there's around 40 Reiksguard in a formation, that's 22,000 gold coins just to equip the formation at a minimum to 30,000 gold coins at a maximum. You then factor in that the average soldier only makes up to 50 gold coins a year, a lesser noble makes up to 500, greater nobles make slightly more than 1,000 on average and you can see how already they would be throwing much of their annual earnings generically just towards arming themselves let alone forgetting the time it takes to pay for the training from experienced tutors and time as well. What about when you have to repair your arms? Replace them? If your formation is not winning and capturing for ransoms or getting excessive amounts of loot the average nobleman (Pistoliers, Imperial Knights, etc.) are barely able to arm themselves with swords and half-full plate the first time. The Elector Counts wouldn't even be much better off. So from a logical standpoint and logistical nightmare, it makes far more sense to embrace polearms despite the trade offs in offensive and defensive capabilities compared to swords.

They sure don't have the best technology, not by a long shot, the Skaven have everyone beat. They don't have the best magic, that would probably go to the Lizardmen or High Elves. They don't even have the advantage of numbers, considering that the schtick of several of their enemies is breeding like rabbits (hello Skaven again...). So what are they left with? Big. Brass. Testicles. It's the only thing the Empire does better than everyone else. That and mustaches. I can hardly believe they're still around either. Could you imagine living in an Empire town? Especially one surrounded by woodlands? You have to live with the knowledge that at any moment a horde of foamy-mouth monsters could come raging out of the forrest with their sights set on grusomely butchering every living man, woman and child. Or chaos demons intent on torturing your soul for eternity could come instead. Or god forbid the ground open up underneath you and the Under Empire starts some shit. And there's not a thing you can do to stop any of it.

Kislev might not happen. The Devs said pretty much faction that had an Army Book for 8th Edition of the Tabletop game was getting in Total War. Kislev hasn't had a book since the 6th.

There are some pretty good mods out there that give some of the more flavorful units Kislev should have, even one with the bear cavalry (using a re-purposed Boar Boyz model, I believe). And yes, I know that GW didn't originally have bear cavalry for Kislev, that was a fan addition... But it's so cool you really can't not include it. :)

Because Warhammer means they can't just take an existing faction, give them different colors and sell it to you as 3 different factions. So don't expect faction packs like Rome 2 or Attilla where they sold you a copy paste of the same faction 4 times over in a single bundle.

This is still an era of hand tool work with minimal automation and limited mass production. Besides, I'm pretty sure repeater pistols and repeater handguns are bore loaded. By their 3D models in TW:WH and especially the models in Vermintide 2, they use percussion caps and a rotating cylinder. It'd be a lot easier to just have some mechanism that replaces the percussion cap(or centers the hammer to the firing barrel and gives each barrel a cap) than it would be to use metal refillable cartridges in an already highly complex and expensive firearm. There's plenty of real life weapons from the long history of black powder that had multiple barrels and no removable cartridges.
