Can you play as Norsca in Total War™: WARHAMMER® II?
No, it is DLC for the first game only.
However, shortly after the launch of the second game, we will be releasing an extra combined campaign map, which is a whole new, massive campaign accessible for free by owners of both first and second games. Norsca will also eventually be playable in that combined campaign map.

Do I need to pre-order to get it?
No, you can purchase it alone if you do not wish to pre-order or buy Total War™: WARHAMMER® II in the first week: store.steampowered.com/app/594...

Will it come with Free-LC?

I think the best tagline for skandinavian culture in general is this one: "In soft regions are born soft men." This quote is not originated from there, but it fits perfectly. As far as I understand about the lore, only the dwarfs had a equally bad life compared to norsca people, both races are super tough for a reason.

I just wish they would not be so over the top. I thought I could enjoy playing them. But they are as over the top as the druchii. Torture this. Flaying that. Massacre here. Massacre there. Unrealisticly obnoxious. I had hoped they would be more like real vikings. Rough but relatable. Without scruple but not pointlessly cruel. Militaristic but still people. Instead druchii and norsca are worse than orcs in lotr.

Ever since the release of the Creation Kit, you guys have consistently blown me away with each announcement. Almost over night, you went from being meh, a developer of decent, though uninspiring content, to one whom I am genuinely excited to hear from. I didn't expect this, I certainly didn't expect Warhammer to expand in the way that it has or seems to be continuing to. I love how you seem to react to your audience and the interest that you seem to have in constantly improving on your products and practices. Bravo, you dun good.

Goddamn, they're actually going to expand the wonderful universe Games Workshop so thoughtlessly destroyed a while ago. Once all three games are here, it will be the most complete version of the Warhammer Fantasy Universe we ever saw. Norsca, Araby (you just know they will be there eventually), maybe even Nippon and the likes once the third game comes out (they're going to expand the map to the east). I couldn't be more excited to be honest.

Though apparently Chaos is getting a re-vamp because of complaints that their campaign is exceptionally underwhelming. I have to agree that the Chaos campaign doesn't remotely make me feel like the army of the Ruinous Powers so if the revamp is true, I'll be pleased.

The whole of Westeros united would lose to a single faction from warhammer easily. Reikland (just a small part of the empire) or Couronne (1/12th of bretonnia) could butcher their way through anything the seven kingdoms could throw at them. That the Westerosi and their non magic non superhuman armies could ever hope to best something like a chaos invasion or a waagh is laughable. The warhammer humans have practical magic, gunpowder, REALLY good leaders, superhuman warriors that make Arthur Dane look like Joffrey and they still struggle to survive against their disunited enemies.

Not really but probably against a full nation but not 1/12th of one. Westeros has some incredible Generals and there are even more incredible fighters, and armies. But thats like saying the US army would walk through all of Warhammer.

Wildform 2202 I don't recall CA ever saying Kislev would not be added into the game. The closest I've see to that was when they said that the new race pack DLC (which was later revealed as Norsca) was not going to be Kislev - "Creative Assembly say they've settled on a brand new Race Pack to release. “No, it's not Kislev (sorry!),” they say," - CA would not have even mentioned Kislev/apologize for it not being Kislev - thus admitting that they are aware the fan base wants Kislev - if they weren't planning on releasing it at some point.

@Grym if it helps, Atmora is like that. Part of Ysgrammor and his boy band left south. Tamriel as a continent is rather forgiving, hence why most live here. The only true danger of Tamriel is probably the center of the Black Marsh... which is basically a very poisonous Lustria. Including the magitech laser firing Aztek pyramids too.

Norsca reminds me of the Pikaraydians from Elric of Melnibone (where a lot Warhammer Fantasy is based off including the End Times). Basically Chaos worshipping Barbarians, but eventually turn on the main Chaos entity (in this case, Warriors of Chaos, the equivalent in Elric is Pan Tang). In Warhammer End Times that doesn't happen, but in Total War you get the option to. That and of course their namesake and culture is based off the real life Norse.

A CGI trailer can be beautiful to look at, yet why would that matter in your buy decision? (it definitely does not for me). But it's hard to disagree that it looks better to the eye. The industry is using CGI for years. Not just Sega, EA or Activision. There is a difference to proper CGI, and in-game footage that is shown, but later on downgraded without proper advertisement. Which i would call false advertisement (see the E3 presentation of the first Watch Dogs game compared to the actual product). So at least I hope with your sarcastic comment you got your fun AcceptTheNull. I guess you are completely against marketing by creating content that has barely anything to do with the product itself (?). Which i understand. Yet it is the way it is.

The fact you came and commented on that you found it so much better then in game, means that *yes* it did have effect on you, whether you like it or not. So I hope with your feel good, comment you got your veil pulled back over. I guess I am completely against hype marketing for pre-orders, hmm can't imagine why, not like that hasn't slowly caused you to have to pre-order for Chaos in a Warhammer game or anything. PS CGI costs, guess who got the bill.

Even if it does affect me to some extend. It still will not define my decision. Bear in mind that this is Total War Warhammer 2. I will not pre-order, but I spend already a absurd amount of play time in the first game and will spend a fair amount in the second too. On my part it's not a question if I buy it, but when and for how much I will. And i definitely didn't pre order TW Warhammer in the first place. Got it for 30 Euro through a nice deal slightly after it came out. I can't name you one game that had a trailer that wanted to make me buy a game. I'm not that rich to throw out the window my money . Proper research should be a quite obvious process. Did you ever spend money on one game just because it looked pretty ? Probably not. But it's quite interesting how inflation didn't hit the video game industry in the same way as other market, just because the consumer isn't ready to spend more (to some extent). That also why we see that bullshit lately. Sega wants to sell TW Warhammer at 120 Euro/Dollar in the end. And if they could, they would work one year longer and sell it for 120 Euro/Dollar. Would appreciate if you could answer in a less "trolling" way. It would eventually lead to a more constructed discussion about a serious and quite interesting subject. With respect. Edit: This is dlc for the first game tough. So will probably buy it directly. And buy later-on the TW Warhammer 2.

I think it's very admirable that CA is still supporting the first game instead of just abandoning it for the new product. The two games stack onto each other too, so it's a win-win.

They are doing so because the first and the second game will overlap with their shared map and shared factions. Abandoning the first would make the full picture seem flawed. Edit: Also development is always split into multiple teams. Team A works on the second game, Team B works on additional content for the first and will work on additional content for the second when Team A is already working on the third game.

Wulfrik's voice is easily my favorite in the entire game. Edward Dogliani did an amazing job with him. A shame they seemed to put little effort in the rest of Norsca's voice cast.
