Thank you, thank you! Wow! Absolutely free and works!! I just used it this dawn to recover files on my HDD. 2 days prior I was transferring files between 2 external HDDs. I cut to paste for the move but had to leave for an appointment. I cancelled the move. Wrong choice. I got back and realised the files missing from OG and not on destination HDD either. This has been a godsend! I did a deep scan on the OG and retrieved everything. Thank you ❤

This is great. I have an external HDD drive, but some of the data got lost when I plugged it in. My system automatically deleted some of the content with a warning alert "some of the data might be corrupted, do you still want to open it?" and when I clicked yes, some data got lost and I could not recovery it. So, is this software capable enough to recovery that kind of data?

One of the things that has burned me many times is deleting a file or folder off of a networked drive and then realizing it was a mistake. For network drives the file are not copied to the recycle bin. Is there any way to recover files deleted from a mapped network drive?

When Windows writes a file to disk, there is metadata about the file stored in the file systems database. Does that metadata contain the file name? If so, why can't the data recovery software recover the recovered files' name? Thanks.

Brian, would this be able to recover data on a 256Gb Flash Drive (whose drive letter is now unknown and not displayed in, say, Device Manager). Control Panel/hardware/USBs shows "Error 43: Device Descriptor unrecognised". Different PCs, different USB slots tried, but all to no avail. Tried 'Attrib etc' in Command Prompt, but that also doesn't reveal the Drive letter when several attempts made with various letters. Surely there must be some way of getting at this USB, Brian?

Amazing Brian that an empty drive as in your video can have files that can be recovered. Plus I am going to assume that the data recovered is some that to all intents and purposes have been deleted! So it really mocks the assumption that a format of a drive does not actually remove any data eh? So I might give this a whirl as I have a brand new 64GB stick which after "formatting" will not work for storing anything on it now (it is SanDisk stick which on first view had some read only partition SanDisk partitions on it already?? What would you do in that situation??

Hi there. I have a portable hdd which has somehow converted itself to RAW.. I have scanned with mini tool and there’s 320G of pictures / videos.. before I spend $A100 that I will need to borrow! I thought I’d try a few other things first! Will this do what I need? Win 10 recognised drive, but just asks to format no matter what I try..

I used Recuva recently when I deleted the wrong folder of a large backup, and also the emptied the Recycle bin. I'd previously missed the option to recover the full directory structure in the past, but remembered this time. Does WinfrGUI have that option?

@@TrainMyMynd It worked, but I'd checked the folder straight after doing it, and realised I'd deleted the wrong folder (and also emptied the recycle bin). I knew I could get the files back and remembered Recuva also had the directory structure option. IIRC it doesn't default to that, so I only noticed after doing a previous 'straight' all files recovery.

I cant get it to download. Aftewr a fgew seconds it says "connection timed out". Is there any way to make my browser wait longer for a download to start? I mean, the download just be about to start but my stupid broswer's too impatent to just WAIT LONG ENOUGH for the dam download to start!

not working that great for me. i deleted the wrong folder. this DOES get the files back, as a .jpg and .mov. but now windows will not play or show anything. i get a "file type unsupported or corrupt" message. ive tried twice now, a quick scan and deep scan. both give the same results. i JUST deleted the folder yesterday and dont see why anything would be corrupted

I can not run this file as I don't have admin rights to my machine. I was able to download a portable version and I still can't run the program. I need admin rights for that too. Is it because this file was not digitally signed and can not be authenticated?

I have used software like this in the past and while recovering the data is better than losing it all it doesn't recover the file and folder structure. So you end up as you did with bunches of files, but they are not in the original file and folder structure.

Ive formated my HD think it was a USB flash drive and lost 100bg but the main one was a Saved notes folder and in there was notes pads with all my login and passwords for everything games apps banking and now its gone hoping this can get it back as i cant remember half of them and thats the whole reason for the saved notes

do you know of a good free program to recover images from old mobile phones. I recovered my files by your method with were mostly images. The file size are accurate so it feels they aren't corrupted. But when I try to open it, the pop up displays "It appears we don't support this file format". I tried to open it in paint but it couldn't open it as well. Please help 🥺

@@KedarJugdar it did not. It attempted recovery, yet every file it pulled was broken. Potentially corrupted prior to the recovery attempt I guess, but I'm unsure really. I'm still umming and ahhhing whether I should attempt with a paid version of software. But I'm doubtful of the success. But hey. All these choices are worth trying on a case by case basis. Yours might be a different situation to what I experienced. Different machine, different files. Could work for someone else.

So - when you send your phone for repair and reset it first, then the repair-person can essentially steal your data? I guess a lot of people's information and hacks that they cannot understand how happened, really happened like that.
