I still cant believe they haven't updated the Ascendance model, especially since the hero talents effect it. Nothing makes you feel more powerful and attuned to the elements when you turn into an undead with ps1 graphics. Shout out to Guardian of Ancient Kings. Talk with Blizz Drat!
My thoughts exactly. Fully expected this to be the clunkiest hero spec by a mile. There's a chance it still ends up feeling a bit clunky, but it looks much cooler than I expected.
This is just unfinished for enhance. Either the spec tree needs changes or the hero tree does because as it stands this just does not have consistent synergy and throws a wrench in the elementalist/storm dichotomy
I like the fact that they've set up the different tree's for the two different Enhance specs. Stormbringer ironically for Elementalist and Totemic for the Stormstrike build.
I think your mistaken there...the storm strike build generates and spends way more maelstrom, so will generate more tempest from Storm ringer, whereas elementalist uses lava lash more often so will get more free searing totems from Totemic. I think both Hero trees work well for both builds tbh.
I think this is probably 9/10 for resto. Great theme, elegant gameplay design, etc. For Enhance, this might need some more cooking. The Flametongue crit and crit damage seems particularly weak. The tremor spell effect is barely visible. I will say that I particularly like that most of the trees for both specs have multiple interactions with your kit, but don't force you to take anything. Enhance has to take Windfury Totem and Lava Lash, and Resto has to take Healing Rain. Everything else is optional (optimal? maybe not). Very much appreciated.
Enh needs Windfury Totem, either Hailstorm or Fire Nova, Sundering and or Elemental Blast, so 3-4 required talents, not counting the possible use of Ascendance. I don't count Lava Lash as while you could technically skip it, you would have to be braindead to do so in any situation. It's a lot of required talents in weird spots. Cool ideas, but just kind of impractical.
Totem health is a total throughput increase for earthen wall right? Because it takes its own health to absorb damage. If so that node is 30% better earthen wall which sounds strong for a “utility” node
The more hero talents we see, the more I feel like this is just the illusion of choice and it would have been better to give each spec it's own hero talent tree instead of a shared tree.
There is no illusion. Stormbringer works with Storm build, Totemic works with Elementalist build. How else would this work? You can already choose between two massively different builds for enhance.
@@PendlayRoe except this is not good for the elementalist build. It has quite a few nodes, not to mention the totem itself dealing physical damage, that synergize better with storm talents.
@@Austin_Wynters its not, elementalist windfury damage is about sub 1% of your damage profile. 100 times 0 still equals 0. nothing in the tree syngergizes well with stormbuild enough for that windfury buff to be there.
They could've put in one of the thorghast abilities which made it so that when you drop down any totem a second, random totem also spawns which could be anything from any spec. For example, dropping a WF totem could drop a healing tide totem and vice versa. This would've been cool and perfect for the theme but nooooo. It would just work like convoke the spirits or roll the bones maybe where there're only a set number of totems that could be randomly summoned and more powerful totems have a lower % chance to spawn so it's not too OP. It would be so fun and cool. Hope they remember this thorgast ability
fyi this is a super medicore tree for enhance, the damage types are all wrong such that any time totemic is good you probably want to just be playing stormbringer anyway. there's no internal cohesion and they've totally ignored the main lava lash / elemental blast stuff that enhance has done for all of dragonflight in these trees
make the totem do nature damage so that it scales with mastery, and as someone who thinks that enhancement should focus more on the strikes and not the spells i will definetily be playing it in TWW.
Looks like a tree for Resto. I won't even bother looking at it for Enhance. Enhance is a dead spec in Retail imo. I don't think I've ran a key with an enhance ever, in any season, like I don't think I've ever seen an Enhance in retail.
I hate this. Its probably stupidly strong enough alone that seemingly the totem costs zero mana and shits out healing rains (which would normally cause a huge chunk of mana casted manually), along with the boring chain heal buffs. So its forcing people into earthliving and a chain heal build that is likely going to be superior for like 80% of raid fights (extreme spread where low HR and CR value only exception). While not improving the visuals on healing rain and generally being boring. Sure its probably going to result in insane hps on stacked fights, but it wont feel good playing it by just having a totem do all the work.
I know it's new to everyone for obvious reasons, but when evaluating abilities/passives it would be cool if everyone started also thinking about solo delve potential. A lot of abilities that would classically be considered "pvp" abilities are now often lowkey amazing "solo" abilities. Which is the new end game pillar. Just trying to lowkey recalibrate people's minds from 2 decades of thinking. 😁
problem is that there are so many different game modes to play now and there are 2 high-level scenes that people mainly focus on. As much as people want to avoid it the truth is that solo content (while being the majority of players) is never going to be the focus ON RU-vid.
@@gamerunknown9472 Delves are literally coming right around the corner.. the thing blizzard is calling "the next endgame pillar." If there are not solo delve videos everywhere in ~6-8 months ill personally eat my shorts. Calling it.
I mean... sure? But even the hardest solo delve won't be a significant challenge because that entire system is designed for people who are too scared to step in to a group environment. Also delves cannot be tuned for each class so they have to have some overall flexibility for better performing specs and worse ones. Its not like its going to be mage tower level of challenge - even the much easier DF versions, simply because they're having one delve cover all specs AND HERO TALENTS now. So no one in their right mind would ever consider "delve potential" when its more than likely going to be far too easy for anyone with any sort of significant WoW experience. For example, I'd bet heavily that if you can manage 2k-2.5k m+ score delves will pose zero challenge due to what type of player audience they're aimed at. TLDR: Delves are always going to be a skill issue, not a talent one. And no, radius or totem hp is not going to be extremely useful in a delve ffs.

Shaman is staying at 70. Lock and mage have received another round of massive changes. Shaman class tree needs help, Ele needs 2-3 reworks like my lock is getting. One tier set makes them viable through one button and they consider the bandaid stuck.
This one looks soo cool to me. For resto anyways. I don't know how Enhanch works. Also, I do not have enough fingers to play that. But man, this totemic thing sounds amazing to me
Yeah this tree is egregious for enhance. Not because totem bad. Because its pandering to both of the enhancement builds and ultimately ends up being good for no build.
the first Talent in Totemic feels bullshit in m+ because HealingRain use is mostly for dps but if the totem replaces the HR at the position of a firendly Target and you have some range dps in your group the healing rain will deal no dmg to the enemies
I have a fantasy that I could play as a Resto-Shaman and heal only using totems. I'd set them down and spend the rest of the time just running around in wolf-form biting everything in sight. Please make it happen Blizz.
