Yes he sure is. I met Luke pictures an all I didn't ask him Luke asked me. So humble. Me I expected to be ignored but not one bit. It was like he treated me as his best fan an im trying to be a drummer. Real talk. Shannon. Is the most close to JP! Now Simon played this album who JP LOVED😊
I can't wait to finally get to see them. I've survived 5 bouts of cancer and by all should be gone. So I'm seeing all my all time favorites before my time ends. Three weeks til my dream of seeing them comes true. I'll never meet them but I played their music everyday during treatment.

used to hear toto through my mom back as a kid in the mid 80's, and became a fan when i heard orphan... what a song. this band is amazing, and i have gone back through the catalog. what an incredible group of musicians, and joseph williams is an amazing artist in and of itself. great performance.

Thank you so much for posting this. I watched the entire concert. They sound absolutely fantastic. I was able to see Steve Lukather with Ringo stars all Starr band some years ago. I was able to see Toto once around 1993 when Simon Phillips was in the band. It was a small club in San Francisco.

Excellent. Hold The Line: Shannon does the Porcaro cut transitioning from the guitar solo into the ending verse, and keeps the technique up through to the end. Not too many drummers will or can do that. He honors Jeff when he does that …and that’s so good to hear. And thanks for 99, too. Brings me back …and more Jeff stuff. Fitting tribute to a first class musician. THIS is TOTO!!! And Shannon has the groove, I could listen to him all night.

Dying On My Feet was a welcome surprise...a great track from Toto's 2006 album Falling In Between with the original singer Bobby Kimball on lead vocals, Greg Phillinganes on keyboards and the amazing Simon Phillips on drums. The subsequent live blu-ray Falling In Between Live is probably one of the best live concert films ever made. TOTO FOREVER !!!

I agree, the new line up feels more like Toto again with Greg and Shannon returning, but the real deal would be with Simon and Steve. Even if only for one or two years. They should do a reunion tour someday.

Got it, thanks. Was confused because they also are doing solo stops without Journey. I see the Freedom tour in March. Then 24hrs later drive about 6 hrs to see Toto solo. I seen the Freedom in 2022 and in 2023 with both. Great shows.

The only one I'd imagine would return out of these is Lenny Castro. Paich is thriving as the MD for the band with occasional live appearances, and Steve Porcaro is just about retired at this point. Simon Phillips is also doing his thing and Shannon Forrest is doing a very good job of bringing back the heavy Jeff Porcaro'esque sound in my opinion.
All I could find out about Sput was he left and the one he replaced came back. And Xavier had to back out for family reasons. It was an awesome show! This is the first time I have seen them live!!

Saw Toto in 1979 at L.A. Coliseum in front of 60,000 people. It was Aerosmith, Van Halen, UFO, Judas Priest, Eddie Money, Toto, April Wine and the Boomtown Rats. I spent 10 hours the whole time in the front row. The greatest concert I've ever seen. Also every band was in their prime. The only band that outplayed Toto was the headliner Aerosmith and that was barely. Been a huge Toto ever since.

Steve Lukather said in an interview that "a couple of the younger guys were leaving to focus on their band." Sput and X are in Ghost-Note together which is currently on tour.
@@devinw5150 Schon and Lukather were teenagers when they started. Luke was about 10 years younger than Kimball and several years younger than Paich and Jeff. He's in good health for his age and is thus able to continue.
That's a question of definition. Joseph Williams was the lead vocalist for two records in the 80s, Warren Ham was part of their studio crew in the 80s and Greg Phillinganes was a key part of the Falling In Between record. Shannon Forrest was also part of the band on tour for 6 years before returning in 2024
I think Sput & Xavier left because they have their own band called Snarky Puppy/ Ghost Note and they wanted to dedicate their time to that. Unless I’m wrong and it was something else but that’s my only logical guess. Is they opted out this tour to focus on touring with Snarky Puppy/ Ghost Note

That is exactly what Lukather said in a RU-vid interview. Snarky Puppy and Ghost-Note are two separate bands, though. Severaly years ago, Sput and Nate Werth left Snarky Puppy to form Ghost-Note.

I know. I was late buying tickets (2 hours after they went on sale), and these were the only seats I could afford with my little VA Disability payments. Based on previous tours, I've see, Warren Ham (on percussion) sings the high parts, while Steve M's strong mid-range voice adds real depth. Greg is also no slouch.

It still have one original member and another that is still behind the scenes and makes rare appearances. But they have changed members so often and many come and go, it is hard to keep up with. Still sounding good, though!
This concert, Toto opened for Journey. The total concert was 2hr 45 min. My seats were $145. I wish I could have paid more for better seats. The next balcony down (first balcony) was about $235. Which would have gotten me better video. But I am a disabled veteran and don't have lots of money to blow.

Their full concert is only 58 minutes? WOW That's pretty bloody short, I wouldn't pay the kind of ticket prices these days for bands like this if they're playing for less than an hour. That's an absolute joke !!
Toto's first public, headline show of this concert season is tomorrow, 2/20/24. They play a full (1 hr, 45 min.) set. Bands like Toto and Journey with older singers singing high tenor parts try to take care of their singers with an under 2 hour set, other singers singing a song or two, and/or including solos.
