A glorious time when audiences were entertained by the sheer musicianship of these great bands, playing live from recently released albums you could buy at record stores. With tickets you waited in-line for in-hopes of getting a good seat.
CANNOT BELIEVE HOW GOOD THIS WAS LIVE!!!! I WONDERED IF THE STUDIO VERSION WAS ONE OR TWO OF THE VOCALISTS OVERDUBBED BUT WOW ---- GREAT HARMONIES FROM MANY VOCALISTS IN THIS GROUP!!!!
Great memories of an old girlfriend. Right after I finished up my 4 years in the United States Marine Corps,.I bought this album. So many song remind me of Teri Holsen......in Jacksonville, North Carolina
Not really. Bobby's ad libs aren't there because he's trying to carry the chorus, plus that additional guitarist is doing the high falsetto background vocals. It's in your face 100% "live".
Que poema ..hecho vida .brincando.con mi amor inposible en club la union De huancayo .1979..las tardes de Rock..MI..Amada..donde estes..te amo .M.ARAUCO
This song is wild in its early days. Japan is so lucky this time. Sadly we can't see this original key in this song performed, it's way too high for a vocalist.
Pretty sure this performance is from the Agora ballroom in Clevland many shows were recorded there for radio broadcast and filmed for television broadcast. Thus was rebroadcast in Japan . Hence the Japanese voice overs and subtitles.
At 2:25 or so ------ cannot understand THE LACK OF ENTHUSIASM OF SOME OF THE AUDIENCE MEMBERS ------ THIS IS SUCH A JAMMIN' SONG -- MAYBE THEY HAVE PLAYED IT MANY MANY TIMES AT HOME FROM THEIR ALBUMS AND HAVE GOTTEN MORE TIRED OF THE SONG ( I DON'T KNOW)!!
I think that back in the day, the highest compliment you could pay to a band is to give them 100% of your attention and not try to dance where your back is turned to them most of the time. Also, many musicians had to be spellbound with Toto's licks. Toto was heavily advertised on the radio and their reputation of highly-polished, second generation musicians was being strongly touted. My brothers and I were there and to this day I cannot figure out how this concert found its' way to Japan.
Tom Kelly is the guitarist (he co wrote Alone by Heart, True Colours, Enternal Flame and so many more greats songs) Bassist is David Hungate who left the band later
