Yes, he is. I met him through Steamer and he was very nice and gracious. I also worked with Joe Williams in a show called Dream Street back in 1983-84. .
@@oskarus3 He played with a Styx tribute band. I used to see his older videos on his own YT channel, he's a fabulous keyboard player. I remember seeing him play a Styx song for his piano recital piece in his music class when he was just a young kid. Very talented.
You should listen to 'The Seventh One' & 'Kingdom of Desire' then. 'Tambu', 'Mindfields' & 'Falling in Between' are also great albums. Oh, and 'Isolation'. Gosh, pretty much all their albums are terrific in one way or another.
Toto work at a higher level. There are extremely few terms of comparison and in the live version I would say there are none. I've seen them several times and they are and will long remain the best live band in the world, in whatever lineup Luketer decides to present it in
Every live performance and studio album that don't fake it with auto-tune and other computer assistance should be labeled with a "pure live" sticker. I'm afraid it would not be many.
Love seeing the guys play, and I really love the music that Toto creates! But I do have to say this: Joe Williams. He either needs to sing in a lower key, or consider retiring. He no longer has the power and clarity to hit those high notes. I'm well aware of the fact that he is older (63 years old) and he does have a lot of mileage on his vocal chords, but he really has struggles with certain aspects of the higher register. But I still love that he's giving it his all.
Luke said Sput and X left to focus on their funk band, Ghost-Note (which is currently on tour). No official reason given for replacing Maggiora with Atlas. Shannon Forrest was with TOTO before Sput (from 2014-2017). Greg P. first subbed for Paich in 2003-04, then took over from 2006 until the band's hiatus and Paich's return in 2010.

Due to legal problems with Jeff P.'s widow, they've decided not make new TOTO albums, though they have released four solo albums wherein various TOTO members past and present played on tracks. Greg P. first played with TOTO 21 years ago and Shannon F. 10 years ago. Ham first played with TOTO in 1986, joining officially in 2017. The TOTO album and other studio credits that the "new" members have racked up is literally staggering.
Jeff Porcaro - deceased. Mike Porcaro - deceased. Steve Porcaro - retired from TOTO to work on solo recording and TV projects. David Paich - retired from touring due to medical care needs. It's this band or nothing, so no use in pining for what is not available.
@@boskosdoghouse Just learn to respect people 😃. Not every 63 year old is able to tour and sing high notes almost every night. Joseph is a grown man so he can decide for himself how he wants to look like. If you think he should change something, that's fine, but if his overweight bothers you that much that you feel the need to write such ugly comments, you must have too much free time.
@@boskosdoghouseNah I'm not mad actually, I'm disappointed that so many people judge Joseph's body without even knowing him in person. You're not the only one fatshaming him in the comments by the way. The thing is that he maybe could have an eating disorder, an illness that affects his metabolism etc., literally anything to not make fun of. Fatshaming people is not okay in general. Not all people who are overweight are lazy.
Holy Big Mac Batman! Joseph Williams has ballooned…Damn..😳 Is the late Cass Elliot, ( aka Mama Cass ), his mother? There’s definitely more than a passing resemblance. Sorry, he’s not even remotely close to what Bobby Kimball was in his prime.
Sad for you that you feel the need to write such an awful comment. If you don't like him as much as you like Bobby as the singer of Toto, that's fine, but fatshaming people is not okay. He could have anything that causes his overweight, for example an eating disorder, an illness that affects his metabolism, literally anything to not make fun of. So please delete your comment.
Are you really comparing a 64 years old man to prime Bobby? Let's compare prime Bobby to prime Joe,this is more fair and for a 64 years old man he is sounding fantastic.
Toto, no, not one of them is really original! But played great with lots of playbacks! 😢😢😢😢😢
Toto is premium. Sounds better than Journey, Styx and others. Luke is the only original left and the only difference is lead vocals from their prime in the 80s. Joe does not have the range Bobby did in his prime. I would rank them and Night Ranger as the best sounding bands live. ACDC was good in the 80s but the singer don't have the range he use to. What a lot of people do not understand is sound is not only the band but the one mixing. Also who is frontlining. Toto will not be mixed as well when performing with Journey. When the are headlining, they are hard to beat talent and sound wise.
@@josephballewAgree with most you said, but TOTO has their own sound crew. The acoustics in smaller venues that TOTO headlines in. Arenas are cavernous and the volume has to be cranked. Clipping or distortion coming out of the huge speakers masks some of the subtleties that we enjoy.
A backdrop with stagelights is much cheaper than having a large multimedia video display. With the cost of logistics increasing so much, TOTO had to cut costs coming back from the pandemic. For example, no backup singers, analog piano, nor full percussion station.
@@Calbear94 Video displays are just as annoying and rude as those moronic blinding flashing lights. Here is an idea. Go back to that best stage lighting ever from the mid 70s to the mid 80s. That shines down from above onto the artists and bathes them in a beautiful and awesome glow.
@@Calbear94 Also, there is NO need for back drop lighting. All lights should be above and off to the sides of the artists. The freaking audiences shouldnt be blinded with lights in back of the artist they are there to watch. Only loser drugged up kids on molly and big pharma meds like that pulsing blinding lights.
@@Calbear94 Then they need to get rid of those stupid late 90s/2000's flashing lights. How expensive is it to have a rack of caster colored lights suspended from above or a stack on the sides of the stage? Or go bare bones and have one caster light shining down on each member.
