Fantasy football, maybe, but I'd much prefer that Spurs pushed the boat out and signed Michael Olise, Eze, and Toney this summer, then spaff the cash on eight middle of the road signings. Spurs have spent £685m on 29 players since our new stadium opened in 2019. That's 137m a season with an average player spend of 23.62m. Since 2019 our transfer dealings have been poor, but recently, we have failed-better in the transfer market. I expect a possible transfer spend of 150m, and more with player sales, which will leave a sufficient amount of money to further strengthen the squad in the January transfer window. Bear in mind, £150m goes a long way in trying to secure quality signings, as deals are usually structured over a 5-year contract with an initial down payment to secure the deal. If we were to only spend £100m of the estimated £150m, that would be enough to bring in 5 quality players with 5 x £20m down payments. There are bargains to be had in a deflated transfer market as Clubs home and abroad are still struggling with revenue losses due to COVID and the financial constraints of PSR/FFP. We, however, are in a highly advantageous position and can spend big if we choose too. That is why I am confident we will have a very good transfer window. COYS.

Sean, "angeball" is not Rocket Science, it's USP is the High Energy-High Press coupled with the frantic scramble back into our own half when the attack hits the wall (again.) It does require ultra-fit, highly-skilled, attack-minded players-and lots of them due to the increased number of injuries (or is that just in my imagination?-feels like it anyway) but that's about it. I bet Levy is gagging to sign a Chinese footballer-think of the market for shirts then!

One point Sean is Emerson Royal has a fantastic attitude but sadly is limited in ability. We need ability and attitude together. In a player. We also need proven players who can come straight in. We'll end up putting too much pressure on Bergvil or even our own Jaime Donley/Mikey Moore. That said I'd like them to get more and more minutes throughout next season. As a club we are at a difficult crossroads, trying to break into the top 4 teams (not Villa) who have or so it seems much more appeal . Our fanbase are being charged top prices (the most expensive in the country) for 2nd tier players. Personally DL needs to get in at least one tier 1 player if that's possible to show intent to the teams above us and to the fans "we now mean business " That has to start at some point imo.

£100m is ample budget, especially with incoming funds from Rodon, Reggie, Holberg, Lo Celso and Gil, etc. There’s cheap squad options available such as Barkley, Kelly, Toisin, Hudson-Odoi available. Hopefully that will free up funds to go big on a striker, winger and number 6.

Every player we bring in is a gamble, there are so few players that anyone can say would get into any team, and they are already at top teams, so buying an in their prime ready made player isn't something easily done like fans think. We need to find our own young players who may turn out to be a gem, for long term sustainability, and if they are young enough for the homegrown factor. Heck even Madrid are buying younger players and not the polished player like they used to.

I think they're willing to pay decent money for some of these players because our new play style is of a higher quality that teams like Bayern play and can afford to have emerson play 10-15 games a season. For a top team like Bayern, Juve, Valencia, etc it isn't much.

Hudson ex-chelsea academy .. had a high ceiling but never reached its potential at Chelsea. I believe he had issue outside footbal as well . If he had matured at Nottingham then he is worth it but there are other players in the same bracket .. if Spurs are looking for upcoming stars across europe .. then the like of NUSA and Désiré Doué French footballer also Soule from juve - these players have the potential to be the next ballon superstars like the bales / kane .. worth 30m - but have higher ceilings.. worth a look. The thing is Sean, generally you don't want to get rid of the players whose value blows up (Destiny / Micky etc.), you only want to get rid of the players that fail (too many to mention) and whose value sinks (AKA all the deadwood we can't shift as Levy wants too much for them). It's a poor model. Would a few established players be more beneficial than the continual 'let's try him, his contract is up in the summer' approach?
