Uhhh this is... not very helpful, especially the countersteer part is not correct, You dont countersteer, Let the car slide .., And you dont brake and then handbrake, You brake for the same amount of time you handbrake, so brake and handbrake and if your car is in a good line, It should drift and depending on your entry, Which should be around 150, The entry shouldnt go under 100 ever.
Zompix ThePotatoGamer If you think I am wrong, then please make your own video on it. I simply made this with my knowledge because no one else has done it, I appreciate the feed back but people have their own way of drifting or sliding, nothing is 100% correct.
My tips are, one, set the handbrake to a keybind that's easy for you. 2nd, I recommend using full manual, so you can use the clutch kick if you start slowing down way too fast mid-drift or you need to reach a higher RPM. 3rd, Get comfortable with your car. I use a supra, and it's a boat but it slides pretty good for me. The last tip I can really say is just, once you can tap the handbrake, let your car do its thing and exit the drift in a clean fluid motion, you have mastered drifting. (Oh, and all these tips are coming from a person with 50 miles in-game. But I can drift in literally every game, muscle memory baby.)
This is useful and nice, but I also suggest you also talk about the Scandinavian Flick / Inertia Drift techniques in a later video, plus a drift without countersteer is a bit faster out of a corner (unless you're using a Challenger in which case countersteer will be necessary for the most part), but thank you for the video, this is helpful to those who are learning :)
A helpful advice whenyou want to get faster on corners, is weight shifting. By doing it you'll shift all the weight on the front of the car forcing the front tires to grip, making the rear lighter. This will give you more speed on corners and get a good downhill/uphill time
Yo thanks man i had to scroll a hundred videos down to find this so can you go to this video’s settings and go to “Tags” and write “How to drift in midnight racing” so that whenever anyone searches that exact thing they will see your video. Cuz I found your video the most helpful outta all of them.
BRO THIS VID IS NOT FAKE ITS REAL IT HELPS UUUUUU OMG OMG I JUST BEAT A GUY WITH MY AE86 I WAS JUST CRUSING AND HE JUST POPPED UP SO I THOUGHT IT WAS A RACE AND HE WAS IN 1ST SO I HAD TO GO FAST SO THEN I TURN OFF MY LIGHT AND I DID BLIND ATTACK ON HIM AND MY BENDS AND CORNERS WAS SOOOO FAST THANK U
This is a really good tutorial on drifting also I mostly use AWD cars to basically drive like an actual race car with using apex, throttle control and braking points.
@@flexibilityosu you're so damn wrong, did you forget bout the power bit in power slide. Power slide is when you're using the power to slide the car, in awd unless you have a really rear wheel biased torque split, the car can't use the rear tires to push the car into a slide. Also powerslides happen after the apex when you get on the power
I prefer an Evo, I'm not sure which year it is but ingame it is called the Revolution 9. I like how it automatically slides the rear of the car outwards entering a power slide. Though the car doesn't get to high enough speeds to drift, mainly because I prefer uphill rather than down, but the car is decent at both.
Here's a smart tip, use the Porsche 964 or as it is known as in the game the "846" and just accelerate through every corner don't let off the gas and you'll drift you won't be the fastest but you'll look cool
well i recommend you using a silvia S15 for drifting or maybe FC , since i am a grip racer i dont oversteer too much , i use elise , evo 3 sometimes GC8 for grip car.
The way how I do it is pretty different first I usually hit the brakes when am going too fast, then tap the P brake, let the car side a little and oversteer a little
Honestly, the Evo 3 is a slider even though its an awd. I pretty much use it for otsucc downhill. And my first cleanly executed drift was uphill otsucc, with the NSX NA1
Guys iff you use TOYOTA trueno (yokoda) and want to try to drift you need to drive medium speed on semi 3 or 4 and then when you see a near the road a turn you need to swing and then when you drift you need to keep the gas pedal and change the speed to 2 when your on 3 and then drive
Woah this actually kinda helped, I'M A NATURAL AT IT NOW WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The thing is, You didn't talk about clutch kicking at all. That's when you are on full manual, and instead of using the handbrake, you slow down before a corner, then as you turn, you push in the clutch for a moment, causing the rev's to go higher, which in turn makes the tires break the grip on the road. This is what real drifters use instead of the handbrake. Believe it or not, Takumi from Initial D even mentioned that.
Yes I know about clutch kicking, the reason I did not include it is that only a small percent of people use full manual, because it's not ideal for the keyboard. With that being said I don't use full manual either so I decided not to speak on a subject I know nothing about in-game.
Thanks but idk why im used to AWD. Welp. Braking and then speeding during corners is like why i feel kinda that was my speciality. Kinda make me fast a bit without a drift. Just how do u manage to have a AWD drift
I have a problem with the Yooda Supreme MK4. Like I can exit my turns perfectly, but if I go to slow, like at 100, I go all the way down to 30. If I go higher, I hit the rail, like what am I doing wrong??
Tbh your gonna exit 90% of corners slow anyways, the way you keep speed is to drift into the corner so that the car is already pointing to the sit afterwards, allowing the car to accelerate faster out of the corner.
now i know it i was drifting like takumi but with heavy cars the 86 in this game is very slow i can hardly drift it i used to get low speeds but now i see this i hope it works
Idk if its true but the road on the docks in the tokyo city map feels less grippier i learn the drift there but i gotta lern how to drift in the mountains
How do you drift a Toyota Ae86 Sprinter Trueno? I only master a few corners, and the hairpins are too hard for me. The Ae86 doesn't have the power to go through the hairpins sometimes. Could you help me with that car?
Alright, the 86 does have enough power, you're probably not taking it at enough speed or have a bad entry, it can be drifted but is a bit difficult because you need to carry more speed. Other than the tip of carrying more speed, try to countersteer halfway through the turn to avoid oversteer and loss of speed on exit.
Tea Thank you so much! So halfway through the hairpin I should starting countersteer and hold down w key so I won’t loss speed. Also should I use the P key(parking brake) since it slows down the 86 too much some even with a tap. How fast should I enter a hairpin and exit? I’m very confused on that part... Thank you!
Don’t counter steer right away only when the car starts going to far making the drift slower then taking the turn with grip that’s what I found best in the evo
I think you should learn to drift RWD cars before AWD cuz AWD can drift but it can exit less fast than FWD. To drift an AWD, it'll need more experience. Just use RWD and mastered the RWD drift technique. After you've mastered the technique and gain lots of drifting experience while cruising Otsuki/Shirakawa, you were ready to drift an AWD.
I do not even use the parking brake on most drifts I turn in the oposite direction the immediately turn back to start a controllable drift where my rear wheels lose traction but the front have just enough to steer. (I do not know the name for this event)
