I tried to make this as close to what an actual implementation of VA work would look like in a Touhou game, similar to other shmups like Mushihimesama. A Japanese dub would be ideal, but as far as English dubs go I'd say this is at least, well, par for the course. I definitely wouldn't be mad if Touhou had English voice patches like this.
I used 15.ai/ to make this. At LEAST half the voices there are MLP (the author goes into the reasons for that here / 1335577983210434560 ) but it also has other voices like Spongebob, TF2 voices, and Rise from Persona 4, with more on the way. The MLP voices work great for general female voices, which is very convenient for a series where 99% of the characters are girls.
I used Twilight Sparkle for Reimu and Queen Chrysalis for Kanako. Their voice actresses should not be credited or associated with this video. I did not personally contact them, nor did they provide their work for the purpose of making this video. These voices are generated by an AI.
