Rhoda's apartment always reminded me a little bit of the inside of Jeannie's bottle. Full bright colors and similarly shaped. Sad to think that so many of the cast are now gone. We do still have Dick Van Dyke ❤ This made my day!
You did an amazing job. Being a huge MTM Show fan since I was a kid in the 1970s, your interpretation of Mary’s apartment is perfection. The only thing I didn’t see was Mary’s distinctive white luggage set.
I should have added that. Glad youiked the tour. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
I just wanted to say that I really love the 4th wall and bathroom you created for Rhoda's apartment. I particularly love the niche over the bathroom door. I've seen a lot of old homes with those. Rhoda often joked about how tiny her apartment was so it was definitely a small space.
OMG! I thought I was the only one who was obsessed with Mary's apartment . I would watch the reruns as a kid and just seeing those windows inspired me to buy a fixer upper that had great floor to ceiling windows, but nothing else. FYI don't do that. I was hoping to see Rhoda's NYC apartment THAT apartment changed my life. I know it sounds corny but it did. I desperately wanted that apartment it was more than a look it was an attitude of Freedom and Independence. As a young adult visiting NYC I found out what street it was located on because I wanted to see those arches and windows. I loved watching reruns of Rhoda when the opening scene was the yellow lights coming from the windows at night. It probably gave some people the creeps but it just made me warm and relaxed. I tracked the apartment building down and guess what...it was still there... arches and all. I think I cried a bit. LOL! I know the show was filmed in CA, but I didn't care. I still want to believe that Rhonda's place was in NYC and Mary's was in Minniapolis . They don't do enough shows that feature the Twin Cities.
I have never watched The Mary Tylor Moore show, maybe I'll check it out -- you've already introduced me to The Dick Van Dyke show! :D It was still a fun tour to watch! I loved your rendering of Mary's apartment, so beautiful! Thanks again for the calming and beautiful videos! Cheers :)
I'm watching season 2 episode 22 this evening and noticed the extra door behind the sofa for the first time and had to come back hear to see if it was in your tour, haha!@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane
Another Awesome video, Thanks! I would Love to see the Steve Martin "Father of the Bride" films house. It's one of my favs! Thanks again, love your channel!
I’m so grateful that the algorithm recommended this video to me! I didn’t grow up with MTM, but my mom did, just like you. So, during the start of the last few years my mom and I watched TMTM Show every night, one episode at a time, on Hulu. It got me through some of the toughest times and I feel like it’s part of me. I still feel really hurt from the time that we started a new season and Rhoda was just gone with no explanation at all and she never moved back. I feel like a lost a friend. (I eventually learned she got a spin-off show that aired afterwords in real time but that wasn’t ever explained on Hulu.) I’m going to rewatch the early seasons again and see my friends again! I’m so happy to learn more about the set. Your vision matched what I imagined. Can you please give me any tips for how to get an M to hang on my wall, so I can be more like Mary? My name starts with M, too. I’ve scoured eBay and places like that for a golden M - capitalized, beveled, serif font. The best I’ve found is a flat black capital M, which I like, but I’d really love something closer to the real thing. Thank you so much for this joy of a video. I’m definitely going to subscribe :) My suggestion for your next tour is the model home from Arrested Development. That might be fun! Or maybe Full House? I’m off to watch your DVD Show tour episode. I can’t wait to see the rock in the basement :D
I'm glad you found the channel! How fun that you and your mom are watching the series together. I wish I could tell you where you could find an M like on the show, but I don't know. If I figure that out, I'll let you know. Enjoy the tours! I have one of Full House, but it's just a quick tour of the main floor. I made it when I was first learning the software.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Great thanks so much! I'll go check out the Full House one. Wonderful! I used to recreate some of my favorite places with The Sims 3 :) I'm so happy I found your channel!
I don’t think there was a door on the bathroom. The door was at the entrance of the closet. In the episode where Mary babysat Bess, Mary tells Phyllis that Bess locked herself in the bathroom and that closet door is locked.
Mary Richards was the coolest. She wasn't a TV mom she was a TV woman. She had a car a job lots of dates a wicked neat apartment. This is wonderful. Thanks.
She must have been a role model for a lot of people, judging by the comments here. 😊 You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
thank you for this! When the first season came on the air, I loved the yellow wicker chair, so my mom suggested I write to the set decorator. He was kind enough to answer my letter and told me where they purchased it. Lucky for me (and my dad's convertable car!) we went to the Los Angeles store Rappaport, and the salesman told me yes, there were two chairs originally, the designer bought one, and I got the other! Many years later, I gave it to my niece, with the strict instructions "mary's chair" is to stay in the family!
Oh my goodness! I wish I could have interviewed the set designers. I wish he was still around.. I checked when making this episode. How smart of you to write and ask back then. Thanks for sharing your story.
This show was such a classic. One of the best TV sets of all time. The Saturday night CBS lineup was epic in the 1970s. I would love to see you do The Bob Newhart Show.
@@Snapepet Thank you. I can't wait to explore all the parts we rarely saw. And I'm curious about the sq. ft. I'm guessing it's much larger than it appears on camera.
Oh, what memories! Mary made all of us believe we could make it after all. As always, you did a fabulous job! Thank you for your wonderful work - these iconic designs would be lost to history if not for you. Much Love - Nona
"Hiya, Mar'!" (like how Rhoda used to greet Mary, lol.) Marina, thanks so much for your time and talent in the making of all these videos. I'm an advertising creative director/copywriter who appreciates not only the set design imagery you create, but also your well written informative, nostalgic narrations. And it's hard to stump me on behind the scenes trivia, yet you always do. From one avid fan of classic shows to another - Great job. You rock! Please keep these comin'.
Thank you. I really appreciate the mention of the script, because it's something that seems like it shouldn't take long, but somehow always manages to.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I loved her apartment too. My own home reflects exactly who I am. I am a single (divorced) mom, my son moved out ten years ago but lives nearby. I can do what I want to it and I think that is one reason Mary's place appealed to so many of us women. It was hers, she didn't share it with a man.
I think it’s interesting how we’ve sort of harkened back to a Mary Richards way of life, in that the average apartment in a modern high rise is very small and as Mary did, utilizing space is crucial.
Love what you did with this! So true that design is personal and tells a story. The Victorian vibe crossing over with the 70s is sort of Bohemian but tells the story perfectly! Great point about scale being slightly larger. Too bad not so as often in real life. You made Mary’s apartment even more beautiful! Thanks!!
I loved her apartment so much. Just 2 years ago while visiting my aunt in Minneapolis, we found the actual house that they filmed the outside from. It has changed some but still a grande home. I was in awe and took so many photos as it was one of my favorite shows and I loved her kitchen as small as it was it was cute.
....That home was for Sale, at various times ,and it was q u i te Pricey. ... in 2017, it was listed for 1.65 Million ... it was built in the 1900's and its a really large Home...I think around 9,000 + square feet.
I'm a guy and I grew up watching this show and loving it, and I get weirdly choked up seeing this apartment in such detail. I don't know why, maybe because being a little kid in the 70's is something I look back on so fondly.
I love hearing this. Thanks for sharing. I always hope my tour will bring back fond memories. They always do for me. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
I know this doesn't qualify with your quality of work, but I have always wondered what the Flintstones House and the Jetsons Apartment really looked like. I would daydream about living in the Jetsons fabulous apartment. Would you ever consider doing that just for fun??
I would love to see the apartments from the show Rhoda. It always fascinated me that they were all in the same building. Your videos are amazing and show how hard you work on them. I love watching your take on the 4th walls too.
@@kaynemccully5266 I wish she had not left. I still loved the show but there was nothing like those early years! Mary Richards and Rhoda Morgenstern are icons.
I love how you've noticed details and pieces of "forgotten" furniture and have included them against the imaginary fourth wall. Very organic solutions. Great work! :)
I loved this show. I had the etc letters like Rhoda had in her apartment. I loved what you did with the 4th wall in Mary’s apartment. It was a unique place with the entrance and book shelves and closet going to the bathroom. I was always curious about that bathroom. Surprised it was as large as you’ve shown. Thank You Marina. I love watching your work
Fantastic work. Thank you. I will be visiting Minneapolis for the first time this summer and of course I will be driving by Mary's old apartment. I too have had an M on my wall since my first name is Mark. This may sound weird but I love that TV house interiors don't match the house exteriors. It kinda like they're from an alternate universe that has a different set of physical laws than ours universe. This is probably why I love your channel so much.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I have photos of the actual house when I was there 2 years ago. If you like I could send the pictures from my computer if you have an email that is okay to share.
I never thought of the closet going into the bathroom, I had always just thought the showrunners changed their mind on what was through that door. So great to see it all put together in such high quality, and I love all the included moments from the show!
I always loved the step down into Mary's apartment as well as the built-in bookshelf. It is interesting how the set was changed over the seasons, but I never noticed. I wonder if the little wooden steps were an afterthought as the first season progressed giving the actors more options for movement? The progression from no steps to one that is permanently built in is a natural one. This is such a familiar space, having grown up watching MTM every Saturday night. It felt like visiting the home of a childhood friend. Thanks for taking me on the tour.
Glad you enjoyed the tour. I bet you're right - they probably added the steps to help the actors move around. You can see all of the other TV and movie homes I’ve finished here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I'm sure that I have seen other house tours that you have done, but none touched me like Mary's apartment. And when I saw Mockingbird Lane as part of your channel's name, I knew there was another house to look for. Quite a difference between sweet Mary Richards and The Munster Family, though I think Mary and Marilyn had things in common. If you are an architect or interior designer and a vintage t.v. buff, this is a great way to combine your interests. Much appreciated.
Another great job, i also wondered how cold Rhoda apartment was especially since they were in Minnesota 🥶 how about the farm house from Green Acres? I know it was part of the plot but it always bugged me they never fixed up the house. It would be cool if you showed it as it was on the show then how it could've been if they fixed it up.
Great idea. It would a great to see how the farm house would look if they finished...I understand why they couldn't never finish their home since such an integral part of most weekly plots shows
Heh heh ... you reminded me of ... I lived in Malibu for a while with two housemates, in a little house a quick walk up from Pacific Coast Highway. We did not arrange for telephone service right away, and it was fine with us -- even in the days before phones you could carry around with you. But then one day we had a visit from one of our friends from school, and when he asked if he could use the phone we told him how to get to the pay phones in front of the party store down on PCH. When he returned, he commented: "At least on Green Acres they only had to climb the telephone pole."
This is fantastic! My mom loved the Mary Tyler Moore show and, since we had only one TV when I was growing up, we watched what our parents watched. I have been an interior designer for the past 35 years and, more than any other visual experience I had as a kid, Mary's apartment without a doubt birthed my own interest in interior design. I hadn't seen the set in years but remembered everything about it - from the stained glass "garage door" at the kitchen breakfast bar to the bookcase "step" to the M on the wall. Thank you so much for doing this! (As a side note, I even remembered thinking that the plaster weeping between the lath in Rhoda's apartment meant there was no insulation - a really bad idea considering Minneapolis winters :-).
How cool that the show inspired a future interior designer! I bet you are not alone. I also find it interesting that even as a child you noticed the plaster between the laths! You were born to be a designer. 😊
I vaguely remember this show from my childhood but I have no memory of Rhoda’s vibrant apt. Wow! What a colorful space! How could I forget that?? I’m impressed that she painted the exposed lath and plaster. I think it’s the unfinishedness of the walls that give it an attic feel to me. As always thank you so much for your dedication to bringing us insight into iconic movie homes. It is truly a bright spot in my day to sit with you and hear your thoughts on the set itself as well as imaginings of the spaces we don’t have much information about. I have an A on my office wall. I smile at how many of us have done that. ❤️
I couldn't find letter M wall decor but I did find an M keychain made from sturdy leather. It must be from the 1980s or even late seventies and I still use it !
LOVE! This tour was so fantastic. Without a doubt, Mary's apartment is my absolute favorite of all TV settings. You did a wonderful job touring it. I took a woodworking class in high school and yes, I made an M. It's my initial and as a little girl I always watched the show and loved that M on her wall. I never spotted the R though. Did you notice in the scene of Lou taking too much of the dinner there was a guy sitting behind the dining table at the little table by the window? That actor is Henry Winkler before he became famous as the Fonz.
So, you had an M too? But, you even made yours. Cool. Yes, I thought about pointing out "The Fonz." I just watched an interview with him about doing that episode. It's kind of sad and funny, because it lines up with what happened to him in that episode. He was new there, obviously, and everyone else knew each other. So, when they broke for lunch, he said the whole cast went off to wherever they go and he didn't have a clue where to get any lunch. He said that after that, when guest actors were on any show he was a part of, that he made sure that they knew where they could get some lunch.
No, you are not alone..I dreamed of being Mary and living in that beautiful apartment too! I love everything about that apt and to this day(I'm in my early 60's)I could live there:) This was an awesome episode! Thank you!
Mary's apartment didn't exactly whisper the 70's, itself! 😂 With the sunken living room and plush (almost shag) carpeting of mustard yellow and brown. And the olive walls. (I think the simulation modernized it a little bit by removing the carpeting and replacing it with what looks like hardwood or hard vynle flooring?) In any case, Mary's apartment was chic- but definitely 70's chic. Come to think of it, I think Rhoda's apartment screamed the 60's! With all the day glow colors. I know a lot of people still decorated with day-glow colors in the 70's (Especially hot pink and shocking orange)... but I think that was a holdover from the 60's. Rhoda's aesthetic didn't fully join the neutral tones of the 70's until she got married, moved to New York, and got her own show. I'm really geeking out on this! 🤓😂 I just love that whole era of my early childhood and this subject makes me happy! ❤
My all-time favorite show! When I was a little girl, I just knew I’d one day have an apartment just like Mary’s. And work for the news. I ended up with a journalism degree, but alas, no adorable apartment. I also realized I identify more with Rhoda now that I’m an adult🤷♀️ What a wonderful show and such memorable and likable characters!
Brilliant. I'm an old man and you made me cry. You completed a dream for so many of us, and your commentary is truly meaningful. I love that we have this shared experience, so many whose imaginations were sparked by what we didn't see as well as what we did. Thanks so much. Great work here.
I absolutely loved this!! You are not alone in Mary being such an inspiration. The series took me from age 12 to age 19 and I fell in love with her character and apartment instantly! I decided that I wanted to be just like her and ended up putting myself through 4 years of nursing school with student loans and hard work. I had a series of 4 apartments and was single until the age of 36. I used all of the colors she had at the time in my first couple of apartments with brown, orange, yellow and olive green. I loved my life, my career and my independence and when I finally got married, I was truly ready! 😊
My best friend and I like to borrow the "I'm the Mary, you're the Rhoda" line from Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion. They fought over who was the Mary, but in our case my friend is the Mary and I'm the Rhoda....and we're both totally cool with that! 👌 BTW I've even heard Oprah say she had an "O" on her wall!
I love that line, too! It was Oprah's favorite show and she received a "O" signed on the back by the whole cast when she had them on her show. What a treasure! ✨❤️✨
Marina! I have a new appreciation for this much beloved sit-com. I really did not fully appreciate how the set design contributed so much to the show. Thanks for your videos. When will you analyze Seinfeld's apartment?
This will always be what I imagine when I think of a perfect apartment for a bachelor(ette). Big enough to entertain, but cozy enough to not be overwhelmed. And those windows!
Yes, the perfect apartment. I have plans to do a lot of the homes you mentioned. Maybe you already know, but - You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Oh i'm subscribed :) I watched your videos a while back and didn't know you'd released more, so i binged a few and subscribed so I'd see when you release new ones. One I forgot to mention that is really just an interesting house (and another where the house is also kind of a character in the show) is the Murder House from Season 1 of American Horror Story. Creepy or not, the interiors were beautiful.
Wow! This takes me back to high school when I’d never miss an episode! I wanted to BE Mary! I’m curious now, seeing the size of her closet why she didn’t just make that a tiny bedroom…🤔
Hi! I'm so happy your channel was in my "recommendation"...I love it! Watching Rhoda as a young girl inspired me to become a window dresser. As a little girl, my parents would take us kids to see the Christmas display windows in our city's downtown. Back then, there were no malls...but every city had fabulous old department stores with huge windows. The windows displayed everything from fashion to animated Santa Claus, his elves, & a steamer model train. When I saw those amazing displays, I wondered who designed all the detail & beauty? All I knew was that someday I would do that too. So when I saw the character "Rhoda" and heard the job-title "window-dresser"...From that day on, I called myself a window-dresser! Lol! After high school, (college was never an option for me)...I just needed to get myself to a department store & do my thing! And that's exactly what I did! I had no training. I had no experience...Not even a portfolio of pictures. What I had was confidence in my ability to do the work...I just knew it! In the beginning of my career, I sometimes would work for free...Just to get my foot in the door. Once I showed my skill, and my window displays = foot traffic & profit for the stores...Well my reputation was one of " Oh Dee Dee, she's the best!...Hire her immediately!" Eventually, I traveled all over the country designing displays for: department & specialty stores...and later, even airport shops. I even became a "visual display trainer"...(Training on the corporate level) So you see, The Mary Tyler Moore Show is near & dear to my heart. I loved both their apartments...But to this day my home is sooooo inspired but Rhoda's bright, fun & whimsical space...(with just a bit more square footage. Lol!) Sorry for the long comment...but I loved my work for 40+ years...it was a fabulous ride! Thank you so much for posting these 2 apartment who has inspired so many of us gals to dream (&) actually live our dreams. Peace friend. ❤💃 (BTW, As of tonight, I'm a new subscriber to your amazing channel🙂❤)
I always wondered about the establishing shot showing Mary's apartment on the 3rd floor but Rhoda always goes up to hers. Was there 4 floors from the back? Not as bad a Full House having Uncle Jesse( who's last name changes from Cockran to Kotsopolis after season 1). He moves to an attic that never existed( per establishing shot) after marriage. If the extra floor was there. Joey & Jesse wouldn't have initially needed to live in the stair alcove ,& basement, respectively. Rhoda ' apartment had attoc walls with no insulation....in Minneapolis?
Thank you for the video! If you ever get the inkling I would love to see South Fork. I know it would be a challenge, but I've always loved that home, and the show lol. Again thank you!
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Not so bad going through the closet. Some old homes did not have hallways. You had to go through one bedroom to get to another.(shotgun houses)
I am 57. I watched the entire series first run. Those Saturday nights at my grandparents house is/was/and will always be so magical to me with MTMS, Newhart, Burnette. I am so thankful to have enjoyed so much time with so many in my family, neighbors...from the "Greatest Generation." I miss all of them so deeply.

First and Foremost....ALL OF YOUR WORK IS INCREDIBLE. Seriously look forward to each visit to one of my favorite TV homes. They are like family, so it is like going to there house. Thank you. So, it may not be in your wheelhouse, or doesn't sound interesting, or just never thought of it...but I wanted to respectfully offer a suggestion of one of my favorite TV "sets." Like so many others I was fascinated how the layout was between all the set exists and entrances, but can't quite get the layout in my head. If you ever have the time, or it interests you, how about the WKRP in Cincinnati radio station? Might be fun. More importantly, thank you for sharing your fine work.
Always loved that apartment, but Rhoda was always my favorite character! I love quirky! I would love to see ‘That 70s Show ‘ homes. Both the Foreman’s and Pinciatti’s. I grew up in that era and love that 70s vibe! Love, love your channel!
thanks marina - you're gonna make it after all! :) another job well done on a classic favorite of (i suppose millions of) people - i know that guys liked her apartment and independence as much as girls but it being focused on her was practically unheard of in 1970 - except for THAT GIRL, there simply wasn't any depiction of a single modern woman on tv - i never missed it myself and then i stayed tuned for BOB NEWHART as well - anyway - thanks! :)
I love this! The Mary Tyler Moore show is such a motivating show you really feel like you can take on anything!! I would love to see you create Villa Bramasole in Under the Tuscan Sun.. the house has so much character!

Ah yes! Her apartment was such a dream, I really enjoyed this video! I love the wonderful message of making design about our story. I had the privilege of seeing the entire cast at the 2007 SAG awards. A few years later I had a one on one visit with Valerie Harper. Valerie was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I cherish my autographed photo of her. I also had the privilege of meeting Gavin MacLeod. His daughter was a school teacher in Monterey, CA. I worked at See's Candies in Monterey for 8 years before moving to Los Angeles in 2006. Whenever Gavin was in town, he would come into the shop where I worked. He, too, was a very friendly person. So were his wife and daughter, very down to earth people. Thank you for this clip. May the entire Mary Tyler Moore Show cast all rest in peace.

I loved The Mary Tyler Moore Show when I was a kid. She was a huge inspiration to me. She was a working woman whose life never revolved around a man, her focus was her job and her relationships with her female friends, and I loved that. I always loved her apartment, and was very disappointed when Mary moved into the second apartment. To this day, I have a little wooden "etc." that is displayed on a shelf in my living room. That's my homage to the show, and reminds me to embrace my inner Mary and Rhoda.
The REAL house in Minneapolis on Kenwood parkway, is just enormous beyond words. IT's a MANSION. 7 bedrooms. We never saw Phyllis' apartment more than a couple of times, and not enough to get a good feel for the place. Phyllis' apartment was on the first floor, and Babrara Gardner lived in the apartment on the second floor (She was played by Yvonne Wilder, and only appeared in one episode) Then Mary's was obviosuly the third floor. Since the real house was built in 1900, like many of that time, it had no driveway, so that's why scenes at the beginning always had Mary pulling up out front on the street. Today, the house has a 3 car garage that was added, but at a price... the house no longer has a backyard because of that. They installed a driveway, which I thought was not wise.... since the front yard is already quite small (Corner lot has a nice big side yard, but not much front) that driveway comes in at an angle and goes right up to the side porch of the house, and not the main entry. In it's original form, I'm almost certain that was a sleeping porch on that side of the house, which common in home before A/C really happened. To me, the driveway looks awkward on the lot, with it's skewed angle, and you'd have easy enough access to the garage in back by using the alley which has always been there between that house and the neighbors.
Excellent video! Enjoyed it! I saw Mary Tyler Moore once, in person. It was many years ago, I think around 1979. I was walking by the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. And there was Mary! She was walking a little dog 🐕 on a leash outside the hotel. She was shorter in person than I imagined. I SO wanted to say hello and ask for her autograph, but I couldn't get up the nerve and I really didn't want to bother her. We all miss Mary, so much!
Thank you 4 this video! I love the outside of this house, the I loved the inside, her car, her clothes, her hair, her life. But most of all, I wanted a friend like Ronda!
The original script Mary was supposed to be newly divorced. But because of the era the producers thought that was to much for the audience and to negative for such a sweet character. Also they were afraid the audience would think she divorced Rob Petrie. 😂 Yup. That’s what they thought.
How come most sitcoms of the modern era. With some exceptions such as the honeymooners and Andy Griffith Show & Green Acres but I will add ??? To green acres because is Lawyer from NYC before farming but these sitcoms portray every one in professional white collar jobs the only other exceptions are is Tim Allen in Home improvement I would love to tour that home and Sanford & Son & Archy Bunker all in the family Threes Company Jack was the student chef & odd jobber & Janet was a Florist & Chrissy was a secretary ok that was white collar/ office Al Bundt was a shoe salesmen Then there is that show I can’t place the name the guy drives a package delivery truck that looks like UPS but it’s not anyway sorry straying off track here
Great job, Marina! I've always been curious about the 4th apartment in this house. Phyllis mentions having rented it out to a group of cute young airline stewardesses (as they were called back then) but we never meet its occupant(s) or see the forth apartment. Could it have been located on the 2nd floor? Care to speculate as to what it looked like and how large it was? Keep up the good work - you've made a lot of people's day with this video.
What a great tour! I loved that show and it was fun to see the apartment in this way. Request for the future: the stunning apartment from Bird Cage with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane.
Two suggestions: The beach house in the movie 'Mildred Pierce' and the before and after design of the Vale mansion (pre-Charlotte transformation and post-Charlotte transformation) in the movie 'Now, Voyager'. ❤
I like the way you stated that - the apartment was like another character. 😊 I will definitely be doing The Partridge Family home. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
One of my favorite examples of attention to detail is the addition of the skyscraper IDS Tower that shows up in the window. The building was not built until 1972. In the first couple of seasons, you can see the tallest building in the city until, the IDS Center was completed, called the Foshay Tower. Who would have guessed that set designers would care about a tiny detail like that!
Wonderful work, as usual! Mary's apartment is the first one I remember falling in love with and wanting to live there. Thank you for all you create! Thought about doing the home from That 70's Show sometime? :)

Hello Marina, I love your channel for I also grew up watching and loving all of these shows. You do such a detailed and beautiful job flushing out these beloved TV homes but these is one I had mentioned this to you once before and believe me you would have your work cut out for you but there is a show that is really funny called "King of Queens" starring Kevin James and Lehia Remini (sorry for misspelling of names).
I too looked forward to every Saturday evening to see “Mary”. I would love to see The Jefferson’s uptown apartment and perhaps the Bunker’s house from the old neighborhood next door. What fun!
You're in luck. I've already finished The Jeffersons. And i have plans to do All in the Family. You can see The Jeffersons and all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
Constant conversation of my daughter and her best friend back in the day: Jenny: "I'm Mary and you're Rhoda" Haley "I'm Mary and you're Rhoda", back and forth. We all loved the show. Thanks for your work, so fun!
I just love your channel! Thank you for all you do. Would love to see Will’s apartment from Will & Grace sometime, or the funeral home from Six Feet Under
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane @Marina Coates - Mockingbird Lane That's very cool.I'm going to check out the Munsters house! Have you ever thought of doing the MTM WJM newsroom? that would be really cool
Her bathroom WAS shown one time. She was in the tub when Mr. Grant, Murray and Ted all walked in on her in succession because she didn’t answer her phone.
It was meant tongue-in-cheek. Glad you liked the tour. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ru-vid.comvideos?view_as=subscriber
ooooo this was just fab, marina! i have lived in two attics and always super-loved rhoda's small space... (and tim's on "my favorite martian" ~the artwork!).... thanks for bringing us here with such dedication, craftsmanship, imagination and warmth xoxo
Thank you so much for creating these! Thanks to your Bewitched house video we were able to get a 3D model of the house created for our display! We’d love to see you do a tour of the whole Practical Magic house. Thanks again!
Also the Spellman house from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the Ricardo’s house in Connecticut from I Love Lucy would be wonderful suggestions to see too.
One thing that always amused me about Rhoda's apartment is that she has an "etc" as opposed to Mary's M. That said so much about the difference between the two!
What I would like to see is the house of Wilbur & Carol Post on the set of Mister Ed the talking horse and the very unique barn with Ed’s stall and tack room & Wilburs office & architect drafting table
