Thank you for helping me identify my long-lost Hoya compacta. I got her as a no-name at my local Walmart. She was green, curly, and lush, just macnifecent. I put her outside at the beginning of summer, shaded by a juniper tree and over my small deck. High humidity, direct sun only in the early mornings. I doused her well about once a week and she bloomed the most beautiful pink and white waxy flowers! They looked like the flower barettes we had in the '70's. I gave away a couple cuttings and then lost her when I got very ill. Thank you again for helping me identify it! ❤
Beautiful collection! Also FYI One pest that is not seen by the naked eye that many many Hoya growers, including myself, are currently dealing with are flat mites. They will cause a Hoya to either not grow or new growth ends up dying off.
Hey Dana let me tell you a little secret about the insularis I have 2 one in low light and one in high bright light right up close to T5 they are both in my cabinet in high humidity and temperature is about 85 degrees the one under bright light is trailing and growing like crazy and is sun stressed! So put that bad boy under some light they love it the other one looks good but never grows have a nice weekend ❤❤❤
Your hoya plants are so large! I agree that they take a very long time to their grow their roots when they get repotted so I try to never touch them after and Pon is my choice of substrate as well.
You've got great energy and one of the most fun personalities! I'm not huge on hoyas, but I think this video increased my interest at least 2 nudges. 💚💚
Kerrii needs more light! Once I moved mine into a southern window, like literally in it, it started putting leaves out like crazy and drinking tons of water!
Great idea to put hoyavin those white ceramic hanging pots.....It is hard to find a nursery pot to fit them...but perfect for the hoya! Your collection is a beauty....love the acuta! I can't wait for mine to get bigger! Your calista...is so pretty too!
Many thanks for sharing your beautiful Hoya with us. You introduced me to a few new ones that I have put on my Wishlist.🥰. For me, I have found that over the years my Hoya did the sleep, creep and leap thing as they acclimated to my environment. Some are faster growers for sure but mostly you’re playing the long game with Hoya. You got some really good deals on the basket plants you showed at the time you purchased them. Very happy for you! Take care! 👌🪴🥰
Very enjoyable tour. Thanks for the helpful info with each plant. The Linearis and Variegated Heuschkeliana are on my list but like you said, I’d rather wait for actual plants for a decent price rather than tiny cuttings. Patience pays off!
Hi thanks for sharing I love love Hoyas but started out with cacti and succulents. I live in the Caribbean and a lot of the more exotic and expensive Hoyas are not easy to come by. Funny enough I have the silver splash kronianna and the blooms smells like some one pee in your home 🤣🤣
All these hoyas are so cool, awesome collection. My Callistophylla is doing the same thing. The leaves are massive and darker. I also got mine from Canopy!
I have enjoyed your video a whole lot especially how you speak about them like they are listening to you. LOL!! I like hoyas but not so lucky in taking care of them in the Caribbean.
I had hoya Kerri, both the green and varigated. Can't recall which varigation, inner or outer. Anyway once it started blooming I put it to the curb and someone got a freebie. They drip nectar like crazy. Now I admire them from afar.
Hello what self watering pot do you get I have some corms growing and I want a put those two in self watering pot but don't no which ones are good one go with and the pon I can't find that pon anywhere I've had just use the lava rock mix basically but it's no were be found my way lol so was just curious on were and what for those two things lol and you make me smile I love your videos lol❤😂 thank you ❤ps I did here lacuz I can't spell it 😂 self watering pot but wasn't sure there were any other also caught that after I wrote this 😂❤❤❤
I have no rhyme or reason for what gender I assign my plants. Lol I just say it and don’t think about it. I’ve been known to call a plant both he and she in same video without realizing it. Hopefully the plants aren’t offended! 😂😅
