Hal, I remember a day in the fall of 1980, while walking a tour of houses in Allegheny West, hearing ragtime music emanating from a stunning Victorian home. Being drawn to the music, I met these two amazing men who were passionate about restoring every conceivable detail of their residence, including a spirited conversation about whether a small piece of molding in the pediment was concave or convex. It is obvious the passion never ceased and you have succeeded in making your residence the envy of the neighborhood. Thank you for being you.... Dave

We have to remember that this is a Victorian, and Victorian decorating was opulent and fussy. They have captured the look and, although the decorations are many and varied, the colors of red and white on evergreen bases tie everything together. I especially like the neighborhood houses above the pediments. Great job, guys.

I've visited the Biltmore Mansion at Christmas, Belle Meade Mansion, Hearst Castle and several others. This home isn't as large or grand as any of them but it's by far my favorite and I'd love to visit. It's beautiful yet livable. I'd be interested to know who does the Christmas decorations and how long does it take. I decorate a few of the homes in the historic district of my small town for Christmas and I enjoy it so much I almost feel guilty for charging them. Almost, lol. I don't get to do any this wonderful though.

Putting Up these Decorations is a Chore, but taking them Down and Putting them Away is a Triple Chore. I Wouldn't go through All this Work for Any Holiday. It would take me weeks to recover!!

Beautiful decorations, but way over the top in my personal opinion. Not everything needs to have lighted decor. The house itself is quite nice of what one can actually see of it without all the bling.

Remember many years ago touring the abandoned homes in the Mexican War Streets district (as the area was called then) when the city was trying to revitalize the area and was selling the homes so cheaply. Potential owners had to prove that they were financially able to restore a home they wanted to purchase. I would love to see your restoration without all the overdone decorations. The occasional peeks at the gorgeous restored millwork was thrilling. It looks like you had a decorator put up all the holiday decorations and they were paid by the number of pieces utilized and the time (which had to be extensive) he/she spent in setting up the displays. If so, they must have made a killing. Way too much stuff, guys. It masked what I assume is an exquisite restoration of your home. Felt sorry for the cameraman, the way you were flipping from one thing to the next. Must have been difficult for him to keep up. It was jarring to see so many disparate types of holiday decorations crammed into one home. Highlight the beauty of your home with tasteful displays (less is really more) instead of cramming every type of Christmas decoration ever produced into your space. I'd say this tour and your decos were a fail this year. Fire the decorator and hire one with taste and restraint next year.

Why not just film it quietly and do close ups and established shots? I tried to watch, b/c everything was so pretty - even 10 minutes it, but that stilted direction just leaves a cold, mechanical quality to the tour.

Sometimes less is more. You'd never see a home in Europe decorated like this. Very Las Vegas

Too much over decorating, looks like a craft show and way too much red. Was the birth of Jesus really about red Christmas trees, bears, a fat belly man called Santa Claus. I would rather go to church on Christmas Eve night for candle light Service and a nice Christmas morning Service with all the singing of Carols and religious Christmas plays by the children. This don’t grab my spirit. If you cut back of the excessive Christmas carts and arts and country crafts you can give a lot to the single mother, children in hospital, homeless, seniors and veterans also the hungry and needed. Your blessings will triple from the one we are supposed to be celebrating his love for us by God sending his only beloved son to us.

Christmas is the birth of Christ yet with all of these decorations there is no Manger, no creche, no Virgin Mary, no Joseph, no mention of Jesus whatsoever. This speaks volumes about the type of people who own this house. Read between the lines.
