My grandparents lived right next door to elvis as a child. We had no clue that he lived on the black side of Tupelo. It's so interesting to see what they're and his childhood looked like back in the day!

That is so cool. Check out our newest video that we just posted. We went to the creek and other places that Elvis and his friends would go. Thanks for the comment.

No problem! It’s been really shocking and weird- but Elvis and his parents seemed liked they were kind people. We’re still looking for any other black or childhood families that may have been around during this time! Please let the family and fans know. I know that Tupelo was planning a talk in a few months. Our family’s old home and land is still occupied by my oldest aunt that lives there. We have not found a second family so far after Mr. Bell died. It would be appreciated! Thank you.

My grandmother's shack in the rural mountains of Va. built by her father in the 1920s was smaller than that. No running water, later had electricity strung to it in the 50s. Had a well about 50 yards from the house. Had a pot belly stove in the small living room that heated the whole house. The house was abandoned in the late 60s when she left to go live her son up North. I have many fond memories as a child staying there. I was raised in the city so being there was an adventure. They didn't have much but there was life and lots of lifetime friends, family and neighbors on the various back dirt roads that winded through the woods and open fields and farmland. Being born in the late 50s and growing up as a kid in the late 50s and 60s was good. It was like watching history change from what was old and taken for granted being converted into a modern world. The problem is the country went too too far left and has now become an open degraded sh!thole.

10:13 I remember growing up when Hardware stores sold all types of stuff. Our father bought our bicycles from a hardware store. I remember in the 60s and 70s, probably into the early 80s HW stores sold guns cash and carry. No big deal. In Grade school in the mid to late 60s there was a HW store in my area that sold WW1 weapons, guns, bayonets, helmets etc. On our way home from school we walk in and just look at all the stuff they were selling. Nobody gave a second though about it then. This was before the days of every day senseless crimes like we see on the news today. In fact in the late 60s our father would take us to a public park to shoot cans we brought with us as targets with our BB guns and no one batted an eye. Cops then could have cared less as well as the others in the park. In the late 70s my uncle and I walked into a Western Auto hardware store and purchased a Marlin 30-30 rifle off the shelf. Yep it was on a shelf on an isle, not locked up behind a glass case. We walked up opened the box, looked at the rifle. It was the one we wanted so we took it to the cashier and paid for it cash and carry. Time were much better then and we took a lot for granted. Its a sh!thole society we live in now.

Thanks! Unfortunately, the upstairs area is private. Only the family members and friends can stay upstairs. It’s also not included in the tour. 😊

@@EchoTravelAdventures There’s an upstairs to that tiny house? Also I’ve read the Presley’s we’re so poor the 3 shared a bed.

@@lumedeon8471 whoops sorry. That’s true. For some reason, I thought this comment was under one of the Graceland videos we did. Yes, the house is very small. There was only one bedroom in this house. My mistake.

When Vernon was alive, they went to a antique store to re-create what it would have looked like while Vernon, Gladys and Elvis lived there. At least that’s what we were told by one of the employees.

Tour of Elvis Presley's Childhood Home | Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum | Tupelo, Mississippi 0714am 12.6.23 Ugly Sheilas - the new name of your rock band... as for elvis, his nibs, i really do not want to learn about the poor chap's life... as for where he was born or grew up - kindda precursor to static caravan living... and how very droll and very tedious it is of others to suggest they know. i aint an elvis fan, sir. i leave that to more morbid and crazier types -as seem to be "fans"... the personal insult that you folks feel for others wanting to leave things be... anyhow; morbid curiosity gets the better of you guys...
