Finally, a video capturing ALL of Lisbon's beauty through the lens of love as opposed to the faded jaded lens of fear.

I just returned from my first trip to Portugal. What a country! So much history and culture. The Portuguese people are warm, welcoming and oh, so nice and friendly. Lisbon is magical! and Porto mesmerizing! I left my heart in Portugal, but I shall return!

Yep, no other city in Western Europe is older than Lisbon, older than it just cities in Greece, but Greece is in the east side of Europe. Many people ignore that Lisbon is such a old city.

Thank you for great and informative video. Visited Lisboa last year, and it's my favourite city in Europe. Didn't hear about Camoes before, but Pessoa is translated to Estonian too, and if correctly remembered - his 'Ode Maritime' was quite good reading :)

Portugal is the best country in Europe.

Don't miss the Gulbenkian Museum, the ferry boats to Setubal and other ports, train to Cascais, etc.

Here you can find the light and the unmistakable colors, the sparkling waters that surround the whole city, the sumptuous and unique monuments and culture, the wonderful sun that shines here like nowhere else, the absolute charm and harmony in the music that is World Heritage, the voice and writing of the greatest poets belonging to the very rich and incomparable Portuguese Language. As if all this were not enough, there is also an honorable people, welcoming, warm, sensitive, educated, intelligent, rich in human values, honest and full of tolerance, kindness, pacifism, understanding which accepts without any kind of racism or selection, all other foreign peoples. Do not forget that the Portuguese are the absolute masters in international relations because they were the first Europeans to reach the four corners of the world and more than five centuries ago. A long time ago, we gave new worlds to the World, now it's time for the whole World start to meet us and visit our beautiful country. So everyone is welcome!

Amazing! No tsunamis of tourists, not one poor person begging for money, no rampant graffiti, no tour buses and taxis squeezing honking horns and squeezing through congestion; not even one restaurant or shop intrusively hawking their products! The camera even passed right beside where I just vacated and wow . . . it looks a lot quieter and much cleaner than when I departed two days ago.

Beautiful tour. I'm going to Lisbon next week. Can't wait to see all of those amazing places and soak in the Portuguese culture and atmosphere.

Great video. One minute suggestion for improvement: at 5:06 you display the reference to the Citadel and write "Alcácova", when it's actually spelt "Alcáçova". Graphically the difference is minute but the phonetic implications are a bit more pronounced: the second "c" without the cedille (the little "comma" below the c) would sound "k" ("Alkákova"), when it's really supposed to sound "ss" ("Alkássova"). Sorry if I sound too picky. Just thought you might like to know. Keep up the good work!

Lisbon is the second oldest capital city in Europe, only behind Athens. If you consider Athens to be in Eastern Europe, then yes, Lisbon is the oldest capital city in Western Europe, but not city.
