I thought with a RU-vid Channel name like Truck Camper Exploring, that I should show you guys the camper. So here's a tour of my 2023 Host Cascade Truck Camper. She sits on top of a 2022 Ford F350 dually.
What a great video and tour. And you didn’t try to get anybody to subscribe or like your video, you were just being a normal guy who is four months into his RV life and showing everyone your rig and its features. This is how it should be done. No bagging, no advertising, no selling stuff in links from Amazon down in your description, not trying to make people feel like they should donate to your Patreon account, etc. etc. Good for you. Just a straightforward video. And I think it’s a fantastic rig and floor plan. The bathroom is fantastic.
My wife of about 55 years and I have traveled all 50 states via hotels and campers too! Big country, the third largest on mother Earth. We had a small 12 footer when I was a poor professor of radio, TV & communications etc., cutting meat weekends and summers, as teachers are mostly poor. However, 3,000 TV shows later, eight books later and many thank God better jobs running advertising/marketing/P.R. for big food chains got me out of poverty as a teacher. We had two other campers, one a 28 foot trailer pulled by a Ford truck and the latest was a 36 foot 5th wheel with four big slide-outs. I must say that bigger is not always better and we spent many vacations fixing the big guy, water heaters, toilets, sinks, furnace, insulation added, side rails for upstairs, as there was a huge upstairs full bathroom with full tub, toilet, sink and a large king bed with lots of storage. I must say I was most impressed with this video and his truck camper with actually lots of room and well thought out design too! He is a perfect camper guy, handy with the add-ons, just like us. I wish we had the solar panels, as that is the answer to off road camping and that composting toilet is also the answer, as I can't count the dozens of times I dreaded flushing that system. It is interesting that he can run the air conditioner system with that solar power. The two slides he has make it look and feel big. Now as we see the world and 53 cruises and ten world land trips later, my wife says NO to any more of those camping days. From now on it is the Hilton chain as members or sleep in our Acura MDX, God forbid!
Good story. Our country is so huge and amazing. I just wish more people had way more time off to enjoy her. 1-3 weeks of vacation a year is not enough in my opinion. I like working but I love my time off even more.
I am really impressed. I am shopping for a Camper Van now. I really like the Airstream Interstate. You have given me another option. My name is Judi and I will be traveling out of GA. I can’t wait to head WEST! Safe Travels! 😎
Wow, I’d literally want this exact camper and setup. The Starlink and extreme off grid packages are perfect. I’ve also got a 2022 f350 Dually king ranch, so it’s realistic I could get one. The Lance’s seem too heavy, at least the 1172. This camper seems nicer anyway. I do like the Artic Fox as well. Great video, super detailed. Thanks for sharing
Your living exactly how i want to live also. Your host is the perfect size for one person to feel comfortable and not cramped. Love the whole package…. I’m so jealous .
I just use my dinning table as a desk but I'll be getting a small standing desk at some point. Or maybe I'll just stack some books up. lol. I hope you end up getting a truck camper, it's awesome!
Very nice for a truck camper a lot of ones I have seen on here are a lot smaller so it looks like you have everything you would need. God Bless and safe travels 🙏👍🏻
I can't believe the size of the kitchen sink! There is a lot of storage as well. I like all the features you have and it looks great! You're certainly not missing anything. 👍🏻
Thank you for your response and for taking the time to read the comments. You have an awesome comper. Have a bless day and you take care. Have safe travels. I enjoy this type of videos
Thanks for sharing. You have probably changed my thoughts from a Ford Transit High Roof Extended Van to this Truck Camper 😊 Good Luck in your journey and hope to see you in the road sometime soon.
Hi there, I just came across your page, and I love your camper. Although I will never live your life, I tell you something, I'm fascinated with watching all the Nomad channels. It's soothing, relaxing, non-violent, and entertaining. So you have a new fan that I'll be checking in on ya from time to time. Thx for sharing. See you on your next video. Glinda from South Florida 🍊
Truck campers are so much nicer when they have a slide-out. Without it there is like no room at all. If I were to ever get a truck camper I would definitely go with one that had one. Your camper is very nice!
Great video! My husband and I have been full-timing in a Host Yukon for the past 2 years. We love it! I think ours is a 2022. I like the changes to the blinds and the sink. We have a F350 dually as well. We don't have too many complaints. I wish there was an exhaust fan over the cooktop, out Maxair fan is not right over the kitchen. We wish they would have included struts on the overhead cabinets. We end up having to use a wooden spoon to hold them up. We should just upgrade them ourselves. Also it would have been nice to have a maxair fan in the bathroom. The one that is present is so loud. Enjoy your travels.
Nice rig! Sure beats our little truck camper. We aren’t full time though. We take trips ranging from 2 to 4 weeks. We were just in Virginia Beach and are heading home to Niagara Falls. Looking forward to future videos. Safe travels.
Justin, Man, you’re living the life I hope to before long! Really enjoyed the tour of your Host Cascade camper, and that you’re doing it solo- Guessing your truck has the 7.3 gas engine, as I don’t see the Diesel badging on the doors. I went that route too, only I found a good deal on a used 2017 F350 with the 6.2 gas engine running 3.73 gears 4x4 truck, and couldn’t pass up the deal! That was just before Covid hit and the price of everything sky-rocketed.. I’m running a Lance 820 shortbed camper I found in excellent shape, with a Decked brand crossbox that has a built-in deployable ladder for easy access when the camper is on the truck. This setup works pretty well, as right now I’m not full time and it’s only my Doberman & I. Envious of your dry bath though, lol! New subscriber to your channel, looking forward to following along on your adventures, at least until I can get out more myself in my rig!
We’ve been in a truck bed camper for almost a year we LOVE that ours has no slides and a patio. But the amount of room that these have are crazy. I’m jealous of the pantry space you have though
@@ottouring hello… Thankyou for your reply. Australia is my second home. I grew up in Perth and my parents and siblings and one of my daughter with my two grandchildren still live there. I live near London now and miss my Australian life. I’ll be back someday.
Awesome setup! Hope to be out there in a couple of years. So much for the outdoor enthusiast to enjoy. Be ready, your channel is going to explode, don’t let it go to your head, avoid the sponsorships and bling bling and I’ll stay sub’d. 🙂
Just subscribed. Brother, that is the exact camper I want with the off grid extreme pkg. Been looking at that or the Arctic Fox 1140 dry bath. In six years you are doing what I want to do when I retire at 62. I want to see all of the North American continent and Baja, Mexico. I am going to see Tuktoyuktuk, NWT on the Arctic Ocean too. I want to see it all! Safe travels!
I couldn’t be happier. I’m not retired but my job is seasonal and it requires that I travel the country (I fix wind turbines). Selling my house and buying this was a dream for awhile. This lifestyle is not for everyone but exactly right for me.
Todd, the AF 1140, drybath i was seriously considering, absolutely fell in love with it until i saw these young utubers with the same truck as my ram, dually, crewcab, they had just gotten the AF 1150 and i was a bit shocked, the camper looked overly huge and way to heavy on the truck. It was very concerning to me, i then saw another utuber he had the 1140, and he warned you the weight is a lot more than they say it is, he took his truck n camper to the weight scales. Well that solidified it for me. Glad I saw what i saw, it made me re-think my priorities all out. i ended up with 10-2 northern lite, drybath version, full fibre glass roof, no tpo roof and no slide maintenance, cut my maintenance issues in half right there! This was also my 4th RV, but i was love struck by the AF, made me forget how I hate tpo n slide maintenance, Lol. Love my NL no regrets! 🍻
@@TruckCamperExploring you got my respect. There is no way I would climb up those things. I am deathly scared of heights. I can stand back about 10’ from a cliff and I am fine. I can’t get much closer. I can climb up a ladder to about 10’, much higher and my legs get weak. Getting old though, so shouldn’t be up on a ladder anyway. Getting up on my RV is fine.
Man, U forgot to close Ur roof screen while showing us. Flys come in soooo quick!! They sit inside Ur roof. They are crazy in desert! I woke up in my rig to a hundred of them sleeping on ceiling. I removed 1 at a time!! Lol great lil video.
