This video was shot 2 months after my bedroom caught on fire as a result of a faulty electric blanket. I'm still waiting for the insurance to come through before I start the massive job of cleaning the smoke and soot and rebuilding my home. I'm just researching how and what products to use.
In this video I thought I'd show you all the extent of the smoke and soot damage throughout the house. The quote to the insurance company for remediation (cleaning) was a whopping $70,000. So I'll be restoring, cleaning and rebuilding my home myself... so expect lots of fire restoration video lol

G'day John! Thanks heaps buddy 👍 Yeah I was insured and they've been great. I got fully paid out for my contents, but unfortunately I dumbed it down by half the last time I renewed (typical). Still a fair bit of coin though. And my house was fully insured so hopefully that will be finalized soon. Blinds and curtains ey?! I dare say I'll be needing a few of those mate.

23:48 At around 80 °C a magnet will lose its magnetic force and become demagnetized permanently.

Hey thanks, yeah I thought that may be the case. I later remembered some of the 3D printers with the magnetic beds that I own loose their magnetism when the bed heats up. But I didn't realise it was permanent after 80 degrees. Glad mine still works 👍

@@DIYDumpRat I wish you the best and I admire your composure and strength to take time to make a video. I will be watching the progress and considering other videos I am positive you will build it back even better than it was.

@@onesixtyofficial Thanks so much that means a lot. I almost have the room I started this video in restored and it looks great. But I still have to build myself a better computer to edit my videos seeing as all my others were destroyed in the fire. Might take a little while but I'll get there 😎👍

@@DIYDumpRat At least you won't be bored anytime soon 😆I hope something good comes out of this for you, documenting the effects and recovery of a housefire is quite intriguing and unique so it might bring some traffic.
