Tom, great video. My partner is from DeLand north of Orlando and we visit the area often as we are both huge Disney fans, visited every park around the world except Hong Kong, and his family is still in the area . The last time we were in Orlando we did the winter park boat tour. We learned that Mister Rogers, Fred, lived in winter park along one of the 3 connecting lakes. Carrot top has a house in winter park. Fred’s dad was a wealthy Pennsylvania businessman and Fred was attending Rollins College in winter park. Fred’s grand piano would not fit in the dorm room so he called his Dad and Daddy bought him an expensive home along the lake. Fred’s sister later attended Rollins College and lived in the house. If you get a chance when you’re back in Orlando, it’s the best $20 ride in Orlando. There’s one house we saw that the guide told us belonged to a wealthy upstate New Yorker in the mid 1900s. His wife originally didn’t want to have a house in Florida because she thought the people were low class and they wouldn’t have the same opulence as the upstate New York mansion. The husband worked with the architect of the New York mansion and built an exact replica in Florida. As the guide said, happy wife ,happy life. Keep up the great work !!!

I can't stop singing the Orlando song from The Book of Mormon. This was really interesting. Florida's history is a trip.

Orlando had land locked Naval training center from 1968 till 1993. They used a battle ship made of plywood for training, Nicknamed the SS. Cockroach.

Orlando has one of the highest diversity scores of any U.S. City, like Miami, it's mostly comprised of Latinos and people from the Caribbean but there are also a significant Vietnamese, Indian, and Arab communities. As for the Puerto Rican population, while NYC has more Boricuas in total they only make up 6% of the NY metro area whereas Puerto Ricans in the Orlando metro area make up 15% of the total population (as of 2018 that number is likely higher now) They're the single largest ethnic group in the region and in places like Osceola county they make up over 30% over the total population, the next closest county in the US is the Bronx at only 20%.
