So many people have a multitude of styles. Today’s fashion is engineered trends that continue to change, hence creating more sales. I love the fact that you stick to your style and love for your belongings. I almost feel like we are intruding on your families privacy, not so many people would open their living space to the public. Your wood work within your home is gorgeous, and you certainly have the gift to display your family treasures beautifully. Oh Jean I’m so sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. How touching to hear you say that it was a privilege that he passed as you held him in your arms. I lost my dad when I was 11 years old (he was 58 years old). I so wish I could have had more time with him. And my mom passed when she was 76 (in 2005) and she was my very best friend. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. I feel her presence with me all the time❤️ Thank you for sharing!

Your home has so much character and I LOVE all the wood. I have a lot of old/antique/historic things. Your needle work is absolutely gorgeous, looks flawless to me. I love your paint by number pictures, just beautiful, you are so talented. I always considered "dust" to be a protective coating for my wood. Your home is "truly" a home by Jean, I love it! Oh Jean, such a beautiful home. I too had a home built between 1898-1900. I love homes of that era. They have a certain character and beauty. We had a wrap around porch that we all loved to use. And, a nice large yard for family functions and birthday parties for the girls. It was on the edge of town, and we had a lot of wildlife visiting the yard. Your needle work is beautiful. I loved doing that as well, but I haven't for years. I also would find things at estate sales and garage sales. Everyone was surprised at the beautiful things that can be found. I love the pocket doors and all the beautiful woodworking and flooring. I love your sewing room! I used to have the portable ironing board behind you to your left, with the stripes on the top and the wicker baskets underneath. It could fold up. It held a lot of fat quarters and notions. Thanks for inviting me over for a tour and tea.😊❤

I love stuff! Always something to look at. I love old things too. All of your things are lovely. I have the same cleaning theory as you do. Keep the lights low and hit it with a dust cloth once in a while and wash it now and then.

You have a beautiful home. The woodwork is especially beautiful. The home I grew up in Philly had beautiful wood too. I love your stuff as you call it and I think it gives your home character. Older furniture is so much nicer than the stuff they sell now. I have stuff too and never get tired of it. My grandkids said it’s cozy and interesting. Thanks for sharing your home with us. This was so much fun! You are very blessed with your beautiful family and home! We keep things, too. My husband got out of service in 1970. We still use our first coffee table and side table that we bought. We rarely get rid of anything. Most of the things we have given away were gifts we made for others. We moved a good bit in earlier years and took our stuff with us! I also have done a lot of crewel, cross stitch, painting, sewing, knitting, and now quilting has been added to my list the last 10 years! I love to keep my hands busy…but not sweeping and dusting!

I love old things too. You would Love my New house I'm building . It has a Red Metal Roof . It's a white Ranch house . I'll need to go Yard sale shopping to furnish my large screened porches . Which is what you have to have to keep the mosquitoes out . Your house is Beautiful !

What a beautiful house. I grew up in Derry, NH and our house was built in 1900 and was on a main highway. We believe it was a doctors house since we found lots and lots of old bottles and eyeglasses. Our home was definitely less charming than your home. Maybe because you have it fixed up so cute. I love old stuff myself. Thank you so much for the beautiful nostalgic tour. Brings back memories of embroidery, needlepoint, paint by number, etc.

Hi Jean! I've said before-I love, love your house 💗💗 I didn't realize the stairs went up, over & back down to the kitchen! I also have alot of "stuff"!! The way I look at it is if you don't like it, don't look 🤣🤣 One of my friend's sister who has been here multiple times always comments (in a nice way) "your house looks like going into a country store!" She finds something new to look at each time-even though those things were here before! haha And I get the dusting question, too!! Again-don't look! Because living in Texas we always have dust. Love it, you do a great job in needle work .I enjoyed the tour Thanks lets us know you are just one of us with all your stuff as u called it ! Our house in Indiana had pocket doors. I loved them .As well as a basement and three stories . Two living rooms, a large kitchen, and a utility room, I called it because I did laundry , and it was off from a bathroom on the main floor all the 4 bedrooms and a large bathroom and a office up stairs and one floor above it we didnt use at all . 3 large rooms in basement for storage . Love your channel

I live on the main A92 road Ian will know where it is with farms all around I can but don’t dust/ polish and hoover 3 times a day and it’s still dusty so all my ornaments are in boxes in the shed 😂your house suits you ❤

I enjoyed this so much!!! Thank you Jean!!! I love how cozy and warm your home feels! My house has been feeling drab so I’m trying to change things up and put more things on the walls. Your tour helps to see how to hang things and make them look nice together. I’ve been picking up round and oval shaped things to place in between the square and rectangle shaped pictures. I noticed that you do that so well. I like how you aren’t afraid to go high and low with things, I really like that. I’ve always stuck to the middle of the walls and it’s boring 😊. I love the warm cozy feel, when I was a teenager my parents split and mom and I did a lot of housecleaning work to get by. We worked for doctors and lawyers who had fancy, modern style houses that were all about impressing people. They felt so cold which I really disliked so I’ve always tried to make a warm home that felt welcoming. You are a natural at it ❤❤❤ Thanks Jean!!!

Love your home and style, really warm and cozy. Grew up with lots of trinkets, trash collections, "heirlooms" from previous generations and all sorts of bits and pieces. Since my parents passed away in 2011, I brought everything to my house an do not have the guts to depart with anything as every item tells a story of my past or has a story of where it came from. Heaven knows what will happen when I pass on as today's youth have no sentiment or emotional attachment to any of my hoard.

I prefer eclectic homes. I dislike matchy matchy. It's great that you remember where you got stuff, everything has a story. In modern type homes I'm sure they couldn't tell what store they bought it from.
