If you "enclosed" that outdoor kitchen for the winter with 6 mil clear plastic, you'd be surprised how much warmer it would be out there. And you'd still have all the light. And you don't lose that much of the 'outdoor' feeling. I know it works for me!

Small space but yous have made it work...

I love, love, love your decisions, storage solutions, small home and outdoors bath. I had originally planned on being off-grid but decided with my age and other issues, I'm tied in to the grid. But I still want to try to add solar, water catchment etc. And I have a woodstove that I'd rather use than the furnace. About your bathhouse flooring... I also wanted concrete flooring - in my entire house. So I chose to have porcelain tile that looks like concrete. I LOVE it for alot of reasons. It show it in a couple of my videos when my construction was almost complete. Of course, I didn't put it in...so i didn't have to do the work. So there's that. But I love how it catches the sun (passive warming), holds the heat from the wood stove... but is cool on my feet in the summer and is SO easy to mop and sweep. So I've vote for concrete flooring (which can be slippery when wet if too smooth and I worried about falls) or tile that looks like concrete. But I'm sure you'll choose what's best for you. Your place is GREAT!!

A hook works well for a mask. I did not have a hook for about 10 years ( did not know if a scorpion had crawled im my mask. You son will thank you for the hook.

FABULOUS !!! I so like your cabin and bath house. Your minimalist method works so well with your lifestyle//Less is definitely more!! When I was in Israel I noticed the homes had groutless tile. It was easy to scrub with a 12" brush and hot water, then they would squeegee the water out the door but you could possibly do the same into a floor drain. The best part is 'no grout' to scrub !! So glad you posted the sauna stove install video or I would have never found your youtube page!! WooHOO !!! Can't wait to follow your families journey off-grid!!

We used California bamboo in our bathroom we love it. Totally water proof.

Found you guys through Heath over at RPR and wanted to see your place. Very nice! Love the outdoor kitchen too. The view is incredible! You mentioned that you burn your paper...have you considered making logs out of it to use in the fireplace? There are devices that can squish them down and compress them very tight so they burn a long time. Doesn't use electricity either...just pressure.

Love your place !!! I originally was going to have a separate bath house but ended up putting water in my tiny shack. You look like hard working folks - I like that. But as a Finn, I did cringe every time you said "saw-na". Lol.

I think you should have bamboo or some water proof type of wood flooring in the bath house. Concrete and tile are cold...but maybe not so if a stove is going. If you do concrete, could you have the heated kind where you have pipes encased or under the concrete with circulating hot water to keep the floor warm too? Not sure if that would work living off grid? Everything looks awesome! Marc is an awesome skilled craftsmen!!

Simple, Effective and cozy...Your Outdoor Kitchen may be your least attractive area to you, but it's really neat...Love it and your House. Question? What is all the things floating around while you're upstairs?

No bamboo...esp in a bathroom. It doesn't like water and it is very soft. We put it in a home with lots of kid traffic and it does not hold up well at all. Very soft.

This is a beautiful work in progress!! What is your reasoning for creating seperate buildings as opposed to 1 larger ? (Kitchen and bath houses as opposed to connecting to the house) I have planned 1 for all, curious on any advantages of seperate buildings.

Our cabin is only 288 sq ft... if we ever get it finished

Too crowded. I like tiny homes and cabins but I can't imagine living or sleeping in a room with 4 others. Only goal in my life would be to move away as soon as possible. Please for the sake of your children, try some different solutions, build some bariers between beds or even curtains.

Your animals have better housing than you do. The kitchen has the power center. No cabinet storage.
