I work with the company in Changwon, Korea that manufacturers parts VOLVO assembles at the plant you were at (quick coupler, turn tables, buckets/teeth, boom arms, etc). I would have definitely set you up with a tour of that plant too since they are just a few miles away. If you get back to Korea, let me know & I can set you up with some plant tours.
@@eliteearthworksllc just before asking, throw in a quick compliment like, " have you lost some weight/you must have a new beauty regime as you are positivity glowing" should do the trick 🙄
yeah volvos are made in korea and the kubota equipment made in japan wich not far from volvo wich japenese are great manufacturing plus the kubota kubotas that made in japan gets inspected by my nieces mom and then gets shipped to canada
@@Batman-wv5ng yeah there not far from Kubota manufacturing plant wich korea japan nice place and kubotas are planing make excavators to a big full size in the feature
Given Volvo's respect for your opinions, one could only conclude that it would behoove them to make sure you had an all Volvo fleet to showcase their products !
Excellent video (again)! Also, thanks for the previous about your trip over and the information about the Tier 3 vs Tier 4 requirements. The parking lot tour was great! Thanks!
Speaking of Korea, just think how NORTH Korea miss out on being part of the worlds economy all because of a selfish dictator! Those poor people could have a better standard of living just like in the South.
But who responsible to keep venezuela out of the oil industry, and its people to reach out.. free market is not so free with sanctions all around the world.
This 'selfish dictator' ...his country sits on mineral resources the western crooks leaded by the u.s. back since 1953 tried to steal from Korea. Kim's rockets and Military just means ''hands off from North Korea, americans''. They could ask for a good deal. Whats much simpler then this dumbass 'politic'. Childish behaviour. The world is not unipolar as they mean, it is multipolar.
North Korea 🇰🇵 still has a selfish dictator, Kim Jong Un! Speaking of Korea, just think how North Korea 🇰🇵 misses out on being part of the world’s economy, all because of a selfish dictator! Those poor people could have a better standard of living just like in the South.
Whonwould have ever thought that that 1 day he decided to video his typical average day at work and put it on RU-vid would turn into him going to Korea making him a sincere big deal lol. You have come a long way Chris much respect.
Chris, Not one piece of trash on site on the ground. The landscaping even in the yard was manicured. Impressive on just the cleanliness!!! Was the inside of the factory the same way?? Dabo
When he said, one month supply, I had to rewind. That's a bunch digging equipment. I've thought about seeing Chris run a massive machine. Talk about earth moving.
A few million $ lined up in the stock yards, and a lot of digging power, shame you didn't get a free one for visiting lol. I'm surprised that on a lot of them the booms are in the air and not resting on the ground to relieve pressure on the rams. Small tractors made in the 1950's use the oil bath air filters and are still made today
This may be a stupid question but do all the machines they produce their have the Environmental Def or do they make some machines without it depending on what country they are going to?
Global warming only takes place in the USA and Europe. That's why some excavators have tier 4 Emissions and those bound for countries that know global warming is a hoax don't need it.
Tampa Bay Dan down here in New Zealand and Australia the only Volvo’s you can buy are D models with no emissions on since we don’t require it but slowly we are starting to see the E model machines down here sadly still with the DEF system
@2:51 I spotted a Poclain 90P on the wall. I operated a few of those back in the day . Seized a few as well (air cooled engines. ). Later models set off the horn when the cooling fan belts broke.
Chris thank you for the video, congratulations for being picked to go to Volvo. I bet you where like me, like a big kid when I went to JCB in the UK to work on the maintenance department for 2 weeks, I was a self employed electrician, as I saw how the machines where made great times and very interesting. Steve in Thailand.
Really cool video. You were right beside the Doosan Mfg facility as well. What a cool country to visit. Hope you did some sight seeing also. Very Historical area!
I was wondering that exact same thing. I know theres concrete's thatll hold up to the stress. But that concrete looked 100% mint without a single scratch, even after all of those tracks driving over it.
do they own this div. of Volvo or do they just make them for Volvo? thats some very hard concrete that shows no damage from tracks.. did they at least give you some souvenir's for your long trip ?
A lot of trucks and equipment used oil bath air cleaners in the 50's, 60's and 70's even the pickups. Hey Chris you should've rented a big boat and smuggled a few of those pre emissions machines home with you.
oh gosh yeah. this country almost seems like a different country every 10 years because it hasn't stopped progressing since then. It's really substantial actually, to the point that people from different generations in Korea have a hard time relating to each other because each one has experienced such a different Korea growing up
Two things that amazed me was how much it looks like eastern Ky. there and that you had never heard of oil bath filters. Father-in-laws Case 450 dozer has oil bath but mine that was just a few years newer did not. Higher maint. to keep the oil clean but you almost never change the actual filter because very little dirt gets to it. Think about how much dust a leaking cylinder attracts and you will see what I am talking about.
Bet you was like a kid in a candy store. Lol. If you have ever seen Duckgirl on youtube she can work the hell out of one of those wheeled excavators. Aint no telling how many dollars of inventory is on that lot
That 950 alas has a rack for Extra Counter Weights, 12:15. Rock quarry, Stripmine stuff 😁 I’ve only been to Korea one time, but I have been to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 more than a dozen times For a week Each time, Crazy places to be/see or drive in, For Sure...!! 😎👍✅
StinkyTeal for the same reason why they don’t have the same safety standards we do. They don’t have disability insurance if you were to get in an accident, and there are no rules to follow as far as operation is concerned.
Because they go to 3rd world countries. Emissions idea is great, their execution is shit. If they made a way to lower emissions without shitting on the engine, we would all be happy
I'd really like to visit that place and I can barely dig a hole with an excavator. I wonder how much bigger the trees could be and still pull them out of the ground by the roots with that 480D and a thumb? The big bucket for a 480 is almost 4.5 yards. I think I'd probably want to load a few trucks with it, too.
