This is a walking tour inside of Tokyo Station, the main railway terminal in Tokyo. It's the busiest station in Japan with over 4,000 trains passing through it every day. It's about the 5th busiest, in terms of people, with about 500,000 passing through it daily. This is in comparison to Shinjuku Station, which is the busiest train station in the world, with 3.5 million people daily.
I wanted to share what the inside of this station looks like: all the corridors, eating areas, shopping areas, as well as the underground Tokyo Character Street, Tokyo Ramen Street, and more.
The station is so large that it connects to several other stations within 2km via underground passages. You can easily get lost inside and there are just so many things to look at and explore so I hope this video can help give you a sense of the scale of the station itself along with what is inside.
For more detailed information about the station, the lines, the history, etc. please check out this link: www.tokyostationcity.com/en

Thank you for watching, everyone! I hope you found this video a little informative. And if not, at least entertaining. What was the most interesting thing you saw? What is the biggest train station you've ever been in? Leave a comment below! ❤️❤️❤️

it's another time of my hour and 13 minutes of virtual touring and feeling pain from nostalgia and just feeling jealously to Cory lolll thanks always for the informative narratives and crazy non-shaking camera walking quality (very rare surprisingly. lot of walking youtubers shake so badly when they walk) :D!!!!

Thank you Cory for another great video! Tokyo station is really huge, but you managed to squeeze in a lot of very useful information. Thank you for taking us along, with all those wonderful and interesting shots! I didn't know that there is a Don Quijote there now! Plus there are so many new shops too! The section with the three-layered digital clock signage (sorry, don't really know how to describe it) and lanterns is a place I would really love to explore when I am back there. And that escalator that levels up is cute! And the fruit sandwiches - you made me make a mango sandwich instantly! :) Thanks again Cory! Looking forward to more and more videos from you! I wish it would be Monday soon so that we can already enjoy your livestream! :)

You're welcome! I tried to include the basic information about the station before getting lost inside. hehehe I'm sorry I didn't include more detailed information, though. I think you can call that clock a three-paneled clock, or maybe a triptych clock? hehe It looked new to me. I hope your mango sandwich was good. Thanks for watching and commenting!

This was so cool! I clapped when I saw the Pokemon Store and the Pokemon bags and stuff that you saw lol. Thank you for showing all of us! If you ever wanna know more about Pokemon for whatever reason, I could seriously go on for hours about the history and lore and answer any questions you have. It was cool seeing the Godzilla stuff too! The train platforms are so neat and tidy and just generally pleasing to the eye. Tokyo Station is HUGE and I really hope I can visit it one day! It kind of reminds me of an odd mix of an airport, a farmers market, a mall, and a convention center.

50:57 OMG!!! That is a highly rare retro Moomin plush in that blue glass case holding the ink pen! Of the 80s-90s plushes made for Finnish market, which usually have shorter arms, but there is this one model I believe they made for a one-time boxing event of some sort here in Finland (which somehow Moomin were a collaborators on - go figure; it was the height of the Moomin boom then); those plushes needed longer arms so they could wear these tiny boxing gloves they came clothed with - that looks like one of them!! I'm a lifelong collector of these specific 'button eyed' 80s-90s Moomin plushes of my youth - and I've only ever come across this particular one twice before - once on an online auction, and once irl, by a miraculously random chance in a local charity store. And now here! I'd LOVE to hear the story of that particular plush - how it ended up there - in the bowels of Tokyo Station? If these long armed Moomins were made use of for other events too? So curious! I've never seen these kinds of standing Moomin plushes, which were the standard in Finland, in Japan! (Only the colorful sitting ones, which originated from the Japanese market). Thank you! For these videos in general, too - I've never been to the country, but Japan has always evoked certain home-y closeness - a sibling nation to ours - and these videos give that feel of nostalgia in abundance - excellently atmospheric company ^^ Did NOT expect this Moomin surprise, though - so lucky I was watching at the screen right then; could've so easily missed it :o
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 2 года назад
Wow, you are really into collecting Moomin plushies. That's awesome! I have no idea about Moomin, the history of it, how that rare plushy got to be in the underground area of Tokyo Station, etc. I'm sorry I can't answer your questions or give more info. Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment! ^^

17:18 that goes to Disney Resorts! its a long walk, they should have a train for that 😄 one of the reasons why I like Tokyo station is because there's a bus station there going to Narita and it only costs 1000¥ also for some reason, I have a hard time looking for a cheap hostel/airbnb near that station, so I always end up at Asakusa
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 3 года назад
Yeah! It goes to Kasai Rinkai Park and Disney. It also connects to the Narita Airport Express, I believe. Ah yeah, staying in cheap places around that specific area is hard. Much better finding a cheap place near Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, or over there near Ueno/Asakusa. Thanks for watching!!!

My first time to japan was a 4 hr layover, i took a speed train from narita to tokyo station, had 2 hrs to look around, that's when i fell in love and knew i had to come back. In hindsight there was nothing to keep me from staying longer and simply missing my flight, i should've done that.

I have a Daiso tour, it's in the same playlist as the supermarket tours I made. Japan doesn't really have a store similar to Walmart/Target, like a huge chain everywhere to get everything at all hours of the day. hehehe But they do have some DIY home centers that have a similar vibe. It's more like Home Depot and Target combined, with heavy focus on DIY home repair and gardening and stuff. No clothes or electronics section with games and DVDs. Stay tuned, though. I've got more store tours and similar videos coming soon!
