My gosh that is awesome! My 76 year old dad and mom grow over 500 tomatoe plants, 350 asparagus, 200 onions 200 pepper plants, peas and more and just about every veggie and fruit you can think of here in Massachusetts. I have a place to go pick blueberries, apples, peaches, grapes, strawberries and even kiwi up there in the summer. Its wonderful. They have been doing this for over 50 years since I was born and before and he keeps expanding the gardens even at his age lol.. I cant even keep up and they do it every year. All by hand lol

We have an in ground garden and raised beds. We live in south central Texas, so we're already harvesting from our garden. Last week my husband pulled up the red potatoes and we got a good crop of potatoes this year and I canned most of them already. Green beans are doing great, we've eaten some and I've canned some. We've had zucchini and yellow squash for a couple of meals and there should be enough by the end of the week to start making squash pickles. We have tomatoes, onions, carrots, beets and cucumbers that are all doing great this year. I am so grateful for our garden. I'm also ready to do more canning and freeze drying. And I do love seeing my pantry shelves filling up again with home grown and home canned food. I

Here in NW Alabama, the weather is being really weird. Went from cold to hot to stormy. So far, most plants have survived. Raised beds, buckets, hamging baskets, rows in the dirt. Tomatoes, cukes, zucchini, green beans, peas, taters, strawberries, blackberries, mint, basil, yellow squash, lettuce, & Jerusalem artichokes. Utter chaos. I love it. Great tour!❤

Southwestern Ontario- I have been gardening and canning for 40 years. Plant in raised beds, containers and along the field. Carrots, green beans, tomatoes, potatoes, butternut squash, cucumbers, zucchini, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, peas and onions. I started a peach pit from seed and after 4 years I have flowers on it… I started 12 more peach pits but they will be a couple years yet. I have strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, boysenberries, loganberries, elderberries, hardy kiwi, 5 different cherries, 4 different apples, 2 different pears, hasup berries. I just started hazelnut trees, butternut trees, autumn olive trees, paw paw trees and persimmons Hoping to buy very few groceries Love your garden!

I like your garden setup. I want to incorporate raised beds in mine over time. I find it refreshing that there’s someone sharing their gardening experience that has to work with the same “seasonal timeline “ as I do. I‘be been wanting to plant for months now. 😊 As always, started seeds indoors a bit early, now I have to pot them up a size. Your videos are helpful and educational for me. 👍

We have 12 raised beds. All are tall except 2. And we've basically doubled our garden this year. The new half is all in ground where we planted 2 types of cow peas, and a variety of melons. Finally convinced hubby to grow cucumbers on the chain link fence. I generally try to grow something new or unusual for fun each year. This year it's Taiwan Long Beans. I need to get my okra ( in ground) planted this weekend. This fall,After we process the chickens that are cooped near the garden, we will tear that coop and have more garden space. Our total gardening area is about a quarter acre.

I need to move to Michigan. It’s so hard to grow anything here. It’s either the heat or the rocks. I can’t dig more than 4 inches without hitting solid rock. Oh, then there’s the never ending drought we are always under. It’s a constant struggle. But hey, I got some potatoes, carrots and a handful of wax beans so,far! I’ve got 7 Greenstalks, several grow bags and 3 6x3 raised beds. Oh, and 2 barrels with rhubarb that I am babying. Who says you can’t grow it in Texas? One of my Greenstalks is full of strawberries and another one is full of medicinal herbs and flowers. Fingers crossed they do good this year! And yeah, I got me some chickens. I’m only supposed to have 4 but you know how chicken math is. Hopefully the neighbors won’t complain. I’ll bribe them with eggs!

The sunflowers are going to look great!!! Your perennials and your garlic are doing great. I'm in the south and already battling the critters and bugs. Yes failure will happen, it's part of gardening. I have learned that when it comes to gardening, I can do everything right and the garden is going to do what it wants to do 😊 Thank you for sharing and happy gardening!

"......Because, apparently, I forgot about my back." Oh, my gosh, this cracked me up!! Your garden is looking good. Beware, the raised beds that we put logs in, all sunk down around the logs after a couple of hard rains. This is much easier to correct (by adding more dirt) with plants in there, than seeds!! Has still been a pain in the butt! We have LOTS of raised beds, and are growing a ton of tomatoes, plus peppers, cucumbers, squash, sweet potatoes, okra, green beans, herbs, sunflowers, and zinnias. It's already too hot here for our lettuce, spinach, and kale. The broccoli is starting to bolt, so it will be gone very soon, until fall comes. We love growing those long noodle beans! We have very little weeding, and no bending over with our raised beds. We put in a fairly inexpensive automatic watering system, on a timer. Now, we have no weeding or watering, just harvesting!! Glorious!

Take the chive blooms and put in a jar top off with vinegar, then if you make your own salad dressing use that infused vinegar, I also use the tops of the strawberries when I slice them up.

Your garden is huge! My garden is 40 x 45 with 15 raised beds. I also have fruit trees in large tree buckets - pear, peach, cherry, an apple tree ( last 2 years it was just a stick in the ground - this year it has leaves - maybe there is hope for apples next year) blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. I 'm waiting for 3-4 ft nectarine, apricot , and plum trees to arrive this week. I over ordered potato starters so I have a ton of grow bags filled w taters and it looks like they are all doing well. I planted garlic and onions in the fall - those should be ready end of June. Carrots should be ready in a month. I planted peas and sugar snap, spinach, several different types of lettuces - romaine, leafy, butter crunch and mesculan. Beets, red and green cabbages, broccoli and broccoli rabe have been in the ground 2 weeks. My starters are ready to go out - tomatoes, butternut squash, zucchini, green beans, jalapenos, peppers, 2 banana peppers, 3 eggplant, english cucumbers and pickling cucumbers, watermelon and pumpkin. Herbs and strawberries are in the green stalk planters. I planted sunflowers also. Rhubarb should be ready to pick next week Weather forecast is rain from Wed - Sun so the garden will get a good drink of water. Whew....this is all I can handle and some days it is a challenge.

We have three in ground gardens and two small raised beds. I’m trying my hand at herbs this year in the raised beds and some pots. We bought a load of top soil which we’ll mix with compost for all raised beds next year. Our bodies are broken down so we have to make harvesting easier on ourselves. This year we have planted tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, green beans, English peas, okra, zucchini, yellow squash, beets, rutabagas, irish potatoes, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, watermelon and cantaloupe. Also planted chives, lemon balm, ginger, mint, and chamomile. I’ll be planting sunflowers and various other flowers soon. The weather here in Arkansas is around 80 during the day.

Your garden looks wonderful. We have a garden by the house, what we refer to as a regular garden. Then there's the BIG garden. Produce is shared with family and our one neighbor and some shared with the local food shelf. We have a variety of fruit trees, vines and bushes around the property too. I have a long narrow bed for herbs and pollinator plants. We plant our asparagus around our rhubarb. It help keep the weeds down and keeps the asparagus more white. It also creates the game of asparagus hunt.

I grow in raised beds kale, chard, beets, bell, banana, jalapeño peppers, tomatos, green beans, peas, onions, zucchini, summer squash, butternut squash, acorn squash, trying spaghetti squash this year. Also broccoli and cabbage. In ground asparagus some are in 5th year and getting enough to ear fresh but not enough to freeze. Our strawberries are in old gutters mou ted on an old porch swing frame 3 10ft sections on each side and one bunch in half a water barrel. My potatoes are in 5 gal buckets and grow bags. We also grow black and red raspberries, blueberries. These were planted 5 years ago and we will have our best harvest yet this year. Elderberries were startex 2 years ago hopeful to get some this year. Planted dwarf fruit trees lost most of our blossoms to up and down temps this spring but somehow managed to get peaches. Cant wait to try some fresh off our own tree!

Grow bags are awesome, here's a tip, put them in a kiddie pool to keep the water from running straight thru. I have raised beds, grow bags, barrels, and pots of herbs. I love raised beds because I can use the square foot gardening method and companion plant sooo much in a limited amount of space. I grow all of my tomatoes in 10 gallon grow bags on a customized pallet platform with a cattle panel trellis. You look great, so happy for you!

Garden is looking amazing, Leisa! I'm in Kansas City and have a quarter acre just for the garden. So far, the garlic and onions are looking amazing (around 500 garlic and 250 onions), the peas are trellising on three different trellis systems, I have about 2500 green plants started, we have some volunteer potatoes, lots of herbs came back, just picked my first three strawberries. The rhubarb needs to relocate this year, I'm getting ready to prep beds for tomatoes and peppers. We will still have just enough space for corn to go in soon. In the meantime for the corn space, I've planted lots of daikon radishes. Also growing beets, kales, lettuces, mustards, lots of flowers. One volunteer cabbage. I think I'll do a late planting for that. Just had four apple trees delivered, and need to start all the squashes for the food forest, including pumpkins. Whew, im tired thinking about it. But it's pretty so far, lots of green out there already. ❤❤❤. And our elderberries are gianormous this year. The blackberries have so many blooms, the mulberry tree is covered as well.

We garden in our backyard which also houses are chickens and ducks. We also raise quail and those are in our mudroom . All of our garden beds are in ground raised wood beds. We had to fence all the different areas with 4 foot 1/2 inch hardware cloth cause of the chickens and critters that somehow cross through or over our 8 foot deer netting around the entire backyard. We have 36 of the raised garden beds as well as 55 gallon barrel planters cut in half that we use.The entire backyard is nothing but edibles or herbs for making tinctures and such. Lots of comfrey as well that we use for the chickens, ducks or to make compost tea. We make all our own compost using our four 4ft by 4ft by 4ft heaps. All the pathways and the rest of the backyard are wood chipped with a good 6 to 8 inches. We have goji berries, elderberry, red currants, apples, grapes, figs, raspberries and black berries, Rhubarb and asparagus as well. In the fall we collect a good 300 plus bags of leaves for making compost or mulching all the garden beds. All the grass clippings from only our yard get used to mulch the veggie beds. Haven't used any chemicals or bought any store bought soil in over 30 years. We start all our own seeds from what we have saved and only grow heirloom varieties. Do tons of canning and preserving everything we grow which pretty much gets us through a full year.

Boy you have been busy, love all the raised beds. I love all the whimsical decorations that are through out your garden. I am going to the $ store and pick up a couple of hula hoops and I purchased some tooling off Amazon and I will put a stake or t-post and tie the tooling to the top and attach it to the hula hoop and put it over my cabbage, don't want any worms this year. It will be easy to pick up and access my cabbage. I have garlic, peas, lettuce, and onions up and my husband has his strawberries and asparagus patch. Getting close to planting tomatoes. Some how I ended up with 53 tomato plants and 83 pepper plants(I don't even like peppers) but I love to grow them. Can't wait for the next garden tour.

We had a relatively warm winter here in the part of Arizona where it snows. My garlic has not formed cloves! It developed single bulbs like onions. I've got lots of carrots, onions, and cilantro. The potatoes are coming along well. Around here, we don't plant our warm weather crops until after Mother's Day. I will put in the string beans, tomatoes, peppers, and squash then. I am planting Jerusalem artichokes and tiger nuts for the first time this year, on the recommendation of Survival Lily. Turns out that I already had tiger nuts growing in my yard, and I had been pulling them out, thinking that they were ordinary weeds. They taste similar to pine nuts.

I have a three year asparagus bed that we have had three dinners with so far. The fat spears are just as tender as the smaller ones. You will love them. I have six raised beds in a fenced in area to keep out the deer. So far I have planted garlic (last year), I just planted my brassicas, I have peas, beets and perennial herbs and annual herbs that survived the winter. Last fall we planted a small orchard and was eyeing your elderberry fencing to place around the trees so I can plant other vegetables and flowers to keep the deer out of that area. I love being outside spring, summer and fall. I also live in Michigan in Zone 6b. I love what you have done to your garden. Let the growing begin. Take care.

Oh Leisa, your garden is amazing! I totally agree with you , if you can grow definitely try it. We live in central south Virginia , right now , we have sugar snaps, cabbage , broccoli carrots, greens and potatoes and onions in. The weather got wonky on us and decided it was summer so now our cauliflower bolted. Which is okay We're experimenting with cool crops to see what grows best in spring or fall. We now know to kick cauliflower to the fall garden. This weekend summer stuff gets planted so squash, zucchini, tomatoes, pepper's, bean's sweet potatoes basil . For the life of me I can't grow herbs from seed I'm shocked I got basil coming up. So I want to grab some starts ,. Then once we get all that planted we'll see what room is left for melons okra more cucumbers. I saved some $ and finally got a big pressure canner so I can can more at once. We have a small orchard planted and strawberries and grapes. Currently scoping out areas for future expansion, cause these grocery prices are ridiculous so we plan to grow more as we can improve soil. We plant in ground, in raised beds , grow bags, planters.

I do hope to expand my little garden but have to be careful as I am known for failing to water (hence the self watering containers). But having harvested garlic for the first time this year, I have found they are a lot of work to prepare them for storage if your heads don't form well. I'm sure I did not raise them right. I so hope you share a video of you harvesting and storing your garlic. Thanks for posting!

Your garden looks wonderful! I'm just starting this year's planting at my sister's and at my house. Planning out my beds more efficient this year. Thanks to my pantry planner! My rhubarb is already going like gang busters.

Get a big bale of old hay and cover all your dirt around plants and 8" thick in the walkways. You don't have time to pull weeds. Your garden will be great. I'm not allowed to grow, even in pots. But yes my gradens were big for one person to care for. The smallest one was 12ft x 25 ft that was my asparagus patch. Strwberries in a circle garden, thubarb along the alfalfa field, and grapes on that fence. The fruit trees were doing great when I had to move. The biggest farmer came to "check my garden soil" to make sure it would produce well for me. He said, " my god I wish I had this in my fields"! I told him he could but he wouldn't do it bcuz it was too different from what he was used to.

Gardening is great. These days, I gather at the farmers market. Makes my life easier. I gave up on a garden without pesticides . Veshious bugs and ANTS are a very real thing here in TX. Your garden looks promising 👌.

I've grown in pails and planter boxes. Cauliflower, Broccoli, Russet Potatos, Romaine lettuce, spinach onion, raddish, summer squash, sage & oregano . Cucumbers failed to thrive in buckets though

I planted cherry tomatoes and lots of peppers - both hot (Carolina reaper and ghost) and sweet peppers all in grow bags. I'm trying to do potatoes in grow bags - it's getting to hot so hopefully I get some potatoes. I filled my raised bed with pole beans growing up ropes. I'm trying zucchini one more time (I hate vine borers!). I also will try something new - a Italian Gourd or Cucuzza. It should grow through my hot Florida summer. (my equivalent of northern winters).

Thank you so much for sharing your garden plans! We love our garden. We know we won't be able to have a big garden forever, but we're grateful and happy to hang out in the backyard during summer so we can be amazed and sometimes challenged by God's bounty. We have 6 nice sized raised beds and another 1000 sq ft. on the ground. We can, ferment, dehydrate, infuse... Always learning. Extra produce we can't put up goes to neighbors and the parish food pantry. You are my primary utube source for encouragement and sound canning advice. This year we're adding raspberries and blueberries. Also, we're trying popcorn - mostly to wow the city grandkids. Gardening is a perfect activity to help mature adults stay active and feel productive. We'll be at it as long as we can. Thank you again for the informative and fun videos. God bless you!

That’s a ton of garlic! I have three large container beds of asparagus that were ready to harvest this year and I have had tons of asparagus! Dehydrated, gave away, and ate! It’s been producing since march and almost done. I have a big nice greenhouse, and raised beds all around the outside! My husband has had to do most of the work this year because I have neuralgia and diagnosed with RA. I can’t wait to get back to doing things ! I’m texas!

I'm planting in the ground. It will possibly freeze tonight,so most of my planting so far has been in the high tunnel . Outside I have 3 50ft rows of raspberries. Two of the rows are leafed out and just starting to bud, 2 rows of asparagus and apx 3 x 20 ft row of garlic. In the hightunnel I have about the same garlic as outside, assorted carrots, beets, cabbage, collards, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels(for frog balls) onions, a fig(hopefully it will live) in the hightunnel, chard and sun sugar tomato volunteers. Last fall l, started a food forest. So far it looks nice. I'm just learning how to do this.
