I want to also mentioned that I think BMW did a good job with styling the X1, but I especially like the design of the tail lights. It has a similar design to the tail lights on the original X1 (E84), which was actually my first BMW! I loved my 2015 X1, HATED my 2018 X1, but I think BMW did a good job with the U11. The X1 is unique in that it is a small car, but you kinda get that SUV feeling too! :)
For me the X1 xDrive 28i wins over the X3 xDrive30. I prefer the smaller size of the X1, and that 28i still scoots with the M Sport package. Cannot wait to see details on the X1 M35. That is IF the US gets it. Can't imagine it being ROW only considering how hot the X1 seems to be. Shame no 20s on that as Storm bay is an excellent color. Also say no to piano black interior. Premium for me is a must on that car. Definitely not cheap, but I think there are few ammenities in it that make the juice worth the squeeze.
My dealer is telling me the X1 doesnt come with a spare because it is M Sport and 19 inch wheels, i think there was a mix up and maybe they thought it was an m35i. Am i supposed to get a spare on x1 m sport with 19 in tires 2024?
@@BMWofMountainViewGeniuses interesting, my dealer is telling me because i have the 19 inch tires i would need the whole wheel and tire that a spare would be no good? Strange..maybe 19 inch tire is too big to fit in compartment?
@@BMWofMountainViewGeniuses I really like the darker grill and matching paint fender trim. Not so much of a fan of the rest of the M stuff except for an actual M!
Hardcore BMW fan here (I also work for them) - One area where BMW really dropped the ball with the X1 is NOT including any knob/controller for iDrive. Now it is personal preference if someone prefers to touch the screen or use the controller, but I don't like how the X1 is the only model thus far to lack a knob/controller for iDrive. Lastly, the new iDrive is great and all, but I find myself being more distracted - especially with BMW removing more physical buttons in favor of having everything done via iDrive - (and remember the lack of a knob/controller means that I can only use touch screen or voice). A good example is changing the climate control settings while driving. I will, however, give BMW a round of applause for making features/options like Driving Assistance Professional (incl. Active Blind Spot Detection) and the Surround View Cameras available for the X1 as opposed to making customers step up to an X3 if they wanted said features. As mentioned, the items above were NOT available on the F48 X1, but I am glad they added it to the 2023 X1.
This is technically the second BMW without the iDrive controller (2 series active tourer), but the first in the US without it. It does take a lot of time to get used to it as the muscle memory goes for a controller that doesn't exist. That said, this is a big improvement over the previous gen X1
I've only had limited time in the seats (a few miles each way). Found them to be ok. Want to see how they've changed with active seats & lumbar available
