I came here for the olds guys comments on how they lived in a 12x12 15 men up with a hexi burner for heating & had to shovel recce every time for a crap , showered with a watering can & their SLR & loved every second of it .. I was dissapointed . I am classed as one of them having joined in the late 1900s (86) .. good to see almost a quarter way thro the following Century living standards have improved. Respect to you.
Do you have a shared kitchen to cook in or do you have to make do with what you can fit in your room/eat in the mess hall? awesome room and great video!
Looks great there mate. Im going to join soon, currently there is nothing in my hometown worth staying for! Is this what all members of the army are given to stay in?
If you know about that bill mate, then you know enough about the community, and what they stand for. Ain’t no bill gonna get in the way of our rights to freedom 🤙
Ive been in a Studio flat for 3 years now. Cozy plus cheapish. I've always wondered how I can make more space with the bed and chair oh how it plagues the mind. Oh wait... Perhaps a... High bed Sofa combo!!! Why could I not muster this idea before😂
What happened to the grey steel lockers , bedside cabinets steel beds and bedspread “s oh don’t forget the little square floor mat then the communal showers and toilet's
Wow Singlies Accommodation has changed so much since I was in. Just a question Jake, how do you get away having facial piercings? I understand you are in civvies, great videos mate.
Before joining, I was a Punk, and had piercings in my ear and nose. I sometimes wore them while off duty. While stationed in Germany, I used to go drinking with the local Punks. I even had a mohican a cupla times while on long Summer leaves.
@Hamz, most main garrisons now have this modern type of accommodation, but there are still older barracks around. Some London District barracks always had a reputation for being substandard. But the lower grade accommodation is usually cheap as chips which means more money in your pocket each month. If u do join, save your money and get on the property ladder ASAP. It's tempting to spend all that disposable income on clothes, gadgets and going out. Learn about and investing and get into a saving habit.
Epic video and after moving where I’m based room layout will be been copied for sure limited seating area. With a standard double in that size room that’s for sure. 👍 top man
@@JakesJourneyMate Wow that's changed since my day. Used to have to hump unwanted furniture to the QMs, usually to be told to take it back to the block. When I first joined most guys had issue beds and mattresses and shared rooms were common. Most of us were block orphans and stayed on camp at weekends. I bought my own place when I was a Cpl, and then rented it out when I went to Cyprus on promotion to Sgt. Do soldiers still get married to escape the block and get a married quarter?
As an old soldier I thought what a privileged ass this guy is. Then when he said noggin I thought yeah this guy gets it. He talks Army all the best to you and I hope you do well.
