My hometown. I was at a livestock show in a building behind the Coliseum during the evening show in 75. I remember the music was so loud I placed my hand against a wall of the Coliseum. It was vibrating. I graduated from LSU on the Hayride stage in 1980. To this day that stage has a bronze medallion embedded in the center of the stage. It was Elvis's mark so he would know where to stand, in 56.
Bravo! Loved the 70s Elvis recording seguing into the 50s. I got goose bumps and teary-eyed. So awesome to see Estelle, too. Can't wait for her birthday video. Great job, guys!
This is awesome! Thank you for highlighting my hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana and our part of Elvis history. I was at the July 2, 1976 concert in the Hirsch Coliseum and it was amazing!! I took a whole 36 roll of pictures on my Kodak Pocket Instamatic and only 1 picture came out and that was when Elvis was on the back corner of the stage. I wish I could post it here. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
Wow 👌 such a great video. It's so great to see where Elvis was and how it looks today. I'm excited to hear what memories Estelle has of her time with Elvis. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. ❤
First hing I want to say is THANK YOU. Love all your videos but this one is extra special and if anyone gets to the end without at least a lump in their throat, I suggest they check their pulse! Such a special person who I’ve been fortunate enough to meet on a few occasions. This is precious…
WOW guys! EXCELLENT footage! Love how y’all put the 50’s and 70’s concerts together. What stellar performances of Elvis’s! This was your best video yet! And Miss Estelle 🤩 , what a treat! Looking forward to the next video! Keep TCB ⚡️🕺🏻👑
Awesome video! Love The Sweet Inspirations. ❤ They made great music with not just Elvis but also Aretha Franklin and they had their own musical success as a recording act. I have all of their cds. The Shreveport Louisiana Haydride is so surreal and looks like it's a time capsule.
What a fantastic job you do guys!.... bringing us amazing footage with such great insight into the life of Elvis On Tour. You really are dedicated and ensure you share as much information as possible. Also, what an amazing treat when you spoke with Estelle. Simply can't wait for the follow up video........
Another great video guys - very informative as always. I learn something new about Elvis each time I watch one of your videos, Very best wishes from the U.K. 🇬🇧
Thanks for yet another outstanding presentation. You're the best! And featuring Estelle is the icing on the cake. Can't wait to watch your follow up work. Best wishes
This is one of the best videos I've seen and what a great thing you did with and for Estelle Brown. I got to meet her back in 2015 I think it was when was touring with Shawn Klush and Cody Slaughter along with DJ Fontana for the Elvis birthday tribute show here in Louisville KY and she was such a nice lady along with everyone else that was there. My only regret is that I didn't know they would be available to meet the fans after the show until they announced it during the show so I didn't have anything with me to get her and DJ to sign and I have regretted not thinking ahead and bringing a sharpie and photo with me.
I was standing outside the hotel when Elvis came out and got in his car. That picture was takin the afternoon after his last Shreveport concert. My cousin and her friend were babysitting me. The rumor of Elvis almost dying the night before is why there was a big crowd at the hotel. Sonny and Red got fired a week or two after.
Oh my! What a Video!! Great detective work! I love the music woven in. So sweet that you have Estelle Brown in the building! Looking forward to your upcoming videos. You are both doing a great tribute to Elvis!❤❤❤
Like all of us to follow you, I have been waiting patiently for this video… And it was well worth the wait! Stunning lineups after almost 5 decades of development at the new "Holiday Inn"… And seeing Miss Brown was a genuine thrill. Looking forward to the 80th year celebration video. 🙏👌👏🎶🎤
I remember it like it was yesterday, Elvis’s car was parked on the side not the back. The hotel has been added on to twice since Elvis was there. The tower was added to and later on like 1995 the 2 story building in back was added.
Wow!!!! Awesome video!! Can't wait to see the follow-up!!!! This was a very entertaining!!! Love the Then/Now comparisons!!! Thanks for sharing with us!!
Hey Michael & Jay, this is my hometown and I am very excited that y’all came here to show us what was and what is. I’ve always wondered where that photo was taken with him by the doorframe & what hotel he stayed in. Whenever I look at those photos taken at the hotel I’ve tried to find something in the background to help locate it but I never could. So thank y’all! It would be a pleasure to meet y’all next time y’all come to town! 😁 I also have the pleasure of knowing Estelle very well!
