I really have a hard time with the Amish and Mennonite people. They treat their animals as a disposable thing. I'm also am very disturbed by the way they raise dogs (puppy mills), Dog crates on top of the other, filthy conditions, constantly breeding the females to death. I have rescued many of these dogs. I commend you for your passion to rescue these gorgeous and kind equines. Rich blessing to you ma'am! .
I was told once that there are horse people, and people who use horses, big difference, same with mules. They deserve a good life., not to be used like tractors, and discarded like trash. Mine live there entire lives on my farm , never to be sold like slaves. Its a life long commitment, theres, if you aren't up to it , don't get them, its not fair to them.
The Amish seem to regard horses and mules as just a useful machine to be cast off as soon as they are used up. Most farmers used to retire their work animals and care for them until a natural death. The Amish will inflict a terrible death on these faithful animals for a few bucks. Their dog breeding operations are cruel as well.
