Our first 2021 camping trip was to McKaskey Creek Campground on Lake Allatoona in northwest metro Atlanta in early May. It was our first trip to McKaskey, which is located on the northwestern part of Lake Allatoona in Cartersville, GA. The campground is one of several Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds, and is on a fairly quiet part of the lake. We liked the location of the campground, which is close to restaurants and the Tellus Museum. On the downside, the campground is pretty small and most of the sites are small.
We enjoyed riding around the campground in our Ninebot e-scooters, which allowed us to quickly get around to all the loops and sites, which are shown in this video. The campground was mostly full during our trip, and the weather was cool but pleasant.
