I met the owner of Electric Bike Company, Sean Lupton-Smith, up in Ojai last year where he had some of his bikes on display. He's a super-nice guy and he totally believes in and stands behind his bikes and components. From our conversation I gathered that he is striving to do it all better than everybody else with the good array of e-bike models, miles-per-charge, different types of accessories, safety features, wide variety of colors, excellent customer service, and very strong warranties.

EBC gives you the most bike for the money. The owner Sean Lupton Smith has an obvious passion for bikes that comes through in every facet of his company. I have a model C and it's outstanding. Pride in ownership is off the charts.

The bike looks good after 2 years and a lot of miles hauling a trailer. A testament to the quality parts and construction the Electric Bike Company uses. Rust proof parts are important.

Those Bikes at Work trailers are modify able, and they are double to triple the cost of most cargo trailers.. 300lbs means that you will need several things: Run the motor faster in a lower gear to avoid overheating the motor and controller. And he is smart to have hydraulic breaks (they will get you stopped on wet days).

I'm a more is more person when it comes to maximizing a bike's cargo-carrying capacity, and I love his bike setup! It looks great, and is the perfect balance of form and function. Love the bold orange color, as well. Not likely to get hit by a bus, as I've heard one too many cyclists sharing in bike groups and in person.

It's an expensive bike for what it is and what you get. And usually it's the price is that way because they make their money in accessories. So usually accessories will be cheaper the accessories on his site are cheap in price or in quality. You can get a better bike but I love their philosophy and in practice of hiring people in California, and not having them just put together things. I will be saving up to get a "model m with everything I want" From them because of that. I think everyone should, it doesn't matter if he's a foreigner he's making jobs here he's hiring people here in America and we need that. Workers who can feel pride in their work but can also afford to buy what they make.
