Wish I had watched your video before I used the official e-visa portal! I had exactly the same problem....made two applications, filled in all the details TWICE and TWICE my application was declined and each time they kept my $25. Contacted the embassy to try and find out what I was doing wrong....no response. So take Gus's advice....buy the Visa at the airport on arrival.
Hey Gus! Thanks again for the amazing advice ❤️ the way you break all the information to us makes it way easier for people to visit Egypt. You’re awesome
Great video. Strongly recommend getting a VOA. I applied for the eVisa for my family and all 4 applications got rejected. No refund, no possibility to update your application. $100 down the drain..
Oh no, James, I'm so sorry this happened to you! That sounds very frustrating. I am hearing this from so many people. I hope you all have a great time in Egypt!
It is a scam and never use that Visa2Egypt site. They pretend something is wrong so they can pocket the money, and they accept some people to pretend it is a legit site to use. Shame on them and definitely go VOA.
WOW! Thank you so much for this. I am planning to travel to egypt this december as a tourist with my family and looking at other egypt e visa videos i got so confused and shaken. They said the online process asks for so many stuff like a person's occupation, their bank balance etc and that was a turn off for me because I am only going there for a week as a tourist things shouldnt be so complicated. Your video really helped clear the confusion
Yes, I much prefer getting the visa at the airport. Is every ready for your trip? If you’d like to see a sample itinerary, email me at egyptadventurestravel@gmail.com 👍🏼
Many thanks for the tips! Love all your videos. I saw this one too late as I applied for my e-visa on the Egyptian governmental website a day before. I'm lucky all went very fine as I got it the very next day. My biggest fear was to wait in the line for hours at the airport. Thanks Gus !
Great video, just very well done and structured. Congratulations on that and thanks. I had my application rejected, the eVisa is quite BS is you ask me, but now I feel relieved. All the best, Rafael
Thank you for explaining this issue. I travel in sept stop in Cario Egypt to Dubai. I have a one hour delay. So I was happy to know that I can use the other banks that are there.😊😊😊😊🎉🎉
If you have a layover but if you are staying airside, you will not be able to use these banks-they are after you’ve already left the airside area of the terminal.
I just got back from Cairo last week from the UK.When you get off the aeroplane have €25 ready for each person buy it before collecting your luggage.Happy Travels i had a great break 🎉
Took me 2.5 hours to fill the online form out. I ran into the name issue, but they would not let me move on until I fixed it so I was never charged until complete. I just checked and saw it was approved this am. Lets hope I have no issues. Love your videos.
I just paid $110. wish I saw your video before I got scammed 😢 but still glad I stumbled on your video, at least I know I don’t have to worry about getting it before flying there. Thank you for a very informative video!
Thank you! I have been feeling stressed because I got almost to the end of the application but had to save and log out...Now I can't log back in as I keep getting an error message. Same error message when I click on the tab for FAQ and contact us...all the other tabs work. I will now put it out of my mind and simply get my Visa upon arrival. I'll be landing at 10:30 pm so I'm hopeful it will be a speedy process like it has been for you!
Useful information. I'm off next month on one of those all-in tours. I've been wondering which route to take re visas and think I'll take your suggestion of doing it at the airport (which the tour operators also recommend) together with a sim card and, thankfully, I understand there's someone from the tour to shepherd me through the processes. I was originally going to go the evisa route as it seem ultimately the easier one and didn't involve queueing ... lol As a side note on these types of things, the name has to match identically the full name on the passport or it fails and, as you pointed out, you're out $25 for diddly. What would we do without RU-vid!
Thank you, Gus, for explaining so clearly the two types of Visas to Egypt! We intend to get our Visas in the airport, as you suggest. Question: Our flight does not arrive until 3am. Will the Bank Tellers still be open then for Visas? Are they open all night? Thank You!
Awesome, thanks for this info! I’ll try doing this in October and will update accordingly 👏🏼👏🏼. One thing to note is that even if payment by credit card is an option, often times credit card machines in Egypt can be “broken” or not have a signal, so I always advise having cash as a backup. But this is super helpful info to know-thank you!
As a South African I did the e-visa and was shocked that I didn't have to pay the $25. It said that South Africans are exempted so that was cool and got my visa via email the next day.
Hey dude thanks for the video! im traveling to egypt in november should i get get the E visa or the arrival one ? because some people said the online one is a little tricky ? i will be going to Hurghada from the UK!
I prefer the visa upon arrival, but some prefer the e-visa. Choose which one is best for you after weighing the pros and cons from the video and blog post-have a great trip!
Hey Gus, Just had some questions about the visa: - Do Canadians need passport photos ready to get the visa upon arrival? - What documents other than your passport do you need to get the visa on arrival? - If you get an E-visa, are any more documents required upon arrival to Egypt? Thanks!
All you need is your Canadian Passport and the $25 USD :) or if you have the e-visa already, just your passport. If you have any additional questions, you can email me at gus@egyptadventurestravel.com and we can set up a consultation.
I wish I had seen this video earlier. I applied for an eVisa yesterday, and it was refused. They kept the money even though I had made no mistakes on the application. I will do the visa on arrival. Live and learn.
Greetings from Ireland. I wish I watched your video first. I just completed the online application. Literally took 40 mins as the system wouldn't accept my address format ! Anyways its in processing so fingers crossed !
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel Hi , Yep it worked in our experience. We landed in T3 which seems to be exclusive for Egypt Air. There was quite a que at several desks to get the visa. It still took over an hour to clear all passport and customs etc regardless. Just back from 8 days and what a great time. Patience is key in Egypt
Very informative, thank you!!! This what we needed today after receiving an email that our eVisa got denied, exactly same reason as yours. Question: Is the visa kiosk in Cairo open 24/7? We are arriving friday night. Thank you.
Great video! thank you:) I did have a question about the tourist visa I was hoping you could answer? Im entering with a single entry tourist visa of one month, I was wondering if when I request to renew my tourist visa I can request a 6 month visa that is a multiple entry visa? even though I will purchase the single entry at the airport upon arrival
You can definitely do this at the visa center in Abassiya, it's just not guaranteed that you will be approved. If you do not get approved, you can leave Egypt and return again, buying another single-entry visa at the airport for another 6 weeks.
If you have any other questions, I would be happy to set up a consultation appointment. Feel free to email me at gus@egyptadventurestravel.com and we can get that set up.
Hi Gus ..I have been watching toy videos. Thank you so much for providing great information Egypt. I'll be coming to Egypt for 1 month and using Cairo as a base. I have a trip to Kenya and Capetown planned during that month. Can I get a multi entry visa at Visa on arrival or they will only issue single entry at the airport?
The e visa website isn’t very customer friendly . Not enough instructions are given . When we don’t fill out as they want, the application gets stuck and we don’t easily know what we did wrong . We made an e visa application a few days ago. We actually had to go back and back many times to by trial and error test which way to go. Eventually we sent it for processing and still kept on worrying if that could go through . Luckily the application was approved in a day. I would agree it should be easier to buy the visa upon arrival , if your nationality is eligible for this.
This was loads helpful, travelling to Egypt but with two declines on e-via as you mention due to poor quality documents (passport not clear enough) and I got very stressed. Seems now I can relax and just buy in Egypt, my only concern is having two declines does this mean I have an open visa application that was declined or am I worrying too much?
Thank you exactly what I was looking for. I'm from Finland but I'm flying to Cairo from Saudi-Arabia. Probably does not make a difference. Planning to go with visa on arrival.
@@JeffZuccMusk I hope the rest of your trip goes well! There are tons of amazing trustworthy guides in Egypt (I work with lots!), but there are some bad ones too.
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel Thank you I'm sure rest will be great. My airbmb host is the besttt ever. It was my mistake to not pay enough attention and they were very nice in the beginning.
Thank you, so helpful. To get the visa do you need to bring a passport photo? A few people are saying this . I needed a photo when i went ghana for their visa
Thank you so much for the information. One question, if we plan to travel to Cairo for two days through Eilat- Taba border, we understood need a visa not only Sinai stamp, can we buy visa at that border or we have to get e-visa before the trip?
Thank you Gus for the information. This is so helpful. Do I need to bring photos or any documents to get the visa on arrival in addition to valid passport and visa fee?
Yes evisa made my wife pay twice on the evisa. It was her barely her fault. I think she put day the passport expired, instead of the day before. It was $25 more to redo the visa not to bad in general
Loved your video on e visas. I couldn;t find the link to the Egyptian government site for the evisa. Could you send it again? We are going in early December. thanks
Hi this was a great video thank you for giving all the information. I had just a couple of questions though, when you arrived in Egypt did they ask you for your proof of exit flight or would you okay to just book the one way? Also I had a question about the visa extension, me and my partner will be going to Egypt very soon and we wanted to stay for example between three to six months. I am a British citizen with a British passport, and I have been to Egypt before and didn't have a problem with making extensions etc. Although my partner is travelling on a Colombian passport do you think this will be a problem for her to be able to get extensions? thanks so much
Hello! I asked the consulate this question before, and they said a return flight is required, but I’ve never been asked to show proof of one. As for your question about extending, you’ll need to contact the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate, because I can’t give official information about those types of things…only they can. Have a wonderful time in Egypt!
Hi Gus. Going to cairo next week. My question when I purchase my visa at the airport is it wise to exchange my currency at the same time. Will I get a better rate at the visa booth? Thank you. LUV your videos
Thank you so much for your information - extremely helpful and clear. I tried to fill out the gvt e-visa form, but when I went to attach my passport, it was rejected because it needed to be in the Latin language! What's up with that? I msg them and am waiting to hear back. I appreciate your suggestion of getting my visa at the airport. Perhaps I will do that instead, depending on what I hear.
Great question! I’m not sure as I’ve never worked with anyone coming from a cruise. Check with your cruise ship, since they will know. Have a wonderful time in Egypt!
Hello My friend, thank you for the information. I am going to Egypt next month. I like the Arrival Visa option; however, i just wonder if the Airline require Visa before they allow me boarding the flight? I would appreciate if you can reply my question.
They don’t require it before boarding the flight as long as you are on of the countries (like the USA, Canada, Europe, etc.) that qualifies for visa upon arrival.
Thanks for an informative video. I filled out the application for my husband and I about 2 weeks ago and paid the $25 for each of us. But I have not had any response about my application not even disapprove if. I’m sort of in a black hole, my inquiry asking about status has not been answered. It’s good to know it’s easy to get a visa at the Cairo airport.
Hi Gus, thx for the video. Do I need to carry my passport at all times, or can I leave it at the safe at the hotel, and carry a photo or copy of my passport instead?
@@GertGlez mine never does. It’s extremely rare for anyone to ask for my ID, and I’ve never once been asked to show my visa except when entering and exiting the country on an international flight.
Thank you for the information! For a tourist visa, what is the difference between single entry and multiple entry? We will be landing in Cairo, staying for 3 days, then taking a flight from Cairo to Hurghada. Will that require a multiple entry visa, for multiple flights? I would think not, since we are staying within Egypt.
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel I want to ask you. I have transit. I'm now in Kenya. My trip to Sudan, Egypt's transit. Can I request a visa at Cairo airport?
Thanks for this info bro. I used the wrong portal and they charged $120, while the embassy states its free for South Africans. So definitely a scam. But fortunately got a full refund when I cancelled.
Hi Gus, I am sure you can help me. I want to visit Hurghada in Oct. or Nov. I would like to stay 60 days, can I renew a 30 day visa that I receive on arrival for an additional 30 days at the Hurghada airport or is there another way to get a visa for 60 days. Please help I can not find a definitive answer on line.
You can always get a longer tourist visa, but the process is pretty annoying (I just went through the process in Cairo this past March), so in my opinion, simply leaving Egypt and coming back in again (spend a weekend in another country, or find a cheap flight and fly out of Egypt then fly back in again) allows you to buy another $25 USD visa at the border for another 30 days and is the most hassle-free way. Also, note that the visa is good for 30 days, but it also technically has a 14 day grace period, where they will not fine you if you stay within that grace period.
I am an Indian national residing in Minnesota for last 8 years. I have a valid stamped US visa on my Indian passport. Can I get visa on arrival in Egypt. I am travelling from MSP airport to Cairo.
Hi I am travelling to hurghada tomorrow, do I just simply need $25 and my passport nothing else? Also do they accept 25 British pounds rather than dollars?
Hi I have a question I going to Israel in may and I’m planning to take a plane to Cairo from Israel. Do I need to do any other paperwork or any different visa? I’m very confuse I’m American but because I’m going to be in Israel I’m a little concern. Thank you I’m advance and sorry about my English 😅😊
Not that I know of-you just need your US passport and $25 USD for the visa to Egypt. I’m not sure about Israel’s requirements. Does anyone have experience with this?
Hey Gus, we are going to Nairobi with a 17 hr layover in Cairo, then returning 7 days later and staying 7 days in Egypt. we get a visa for the layover so we can leave the airport, On return 7 days later we get another to stay for 7 days. So that means we have two visas in the passport is this right or is it easier to buy a multientry on the layover?
Hi Ben, considering the cost of the multi entry visa is $60, you’re better off just buying two single-entry visas at $25 each to save the $10. Plus I do not know if you can even buy the multi-entry visa at the airport. It also will not save you much time (I usually wait in line a maximum of 5-10 minutes to buy the visa). Does anyone else have experience with the multi-entry visa? Have a lovely trip!
Hi dear, We will be arriving at Cairo airport @ 1:30 am in the morning. Is the banks opened 24 hours at the Cairo airport which we can buy the Egypt visa there? Pls advise 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Could you clarify if Indians are eligible for VISA in arrival? I can see that India is mentioned on the website as one of the countries that are eligible for an e-visa. Where can we find official rules for visa on arrival?
For anything official regarding the visa, you need to contact the Egyptian consulate or embassy nearest you, or use the official Egyptian government website I shared. Best of luck!
Did you ever have any luck getting a clear answer? So many scams and different resources. My husband has an Indian passport, and we are stressed trying to figure it out!
Hey Jacob, you can check out this blog post with more info: www.egyptadventurestravel.com/blog/money-in-egypt-egyptian-pounds-using-atms-currency-exchange-and-more
Yes, I want to do one the next time I am in Egypt. I want to do the video from Egypt (and not my condo), since I want to show what a currency exchange looks like, ATM, etc.
I’m not sure, you will need to check the website that I shared in the video description or talk to the Egyptian consulate or embassy nearest you. Best of luck!
Nothing about the tourist e-visa or visa on arrival in Egypt has changed in the past couple years. I recommend simply getting it at the airport upon arrival, super easy!
Visa upon arrival at Sphinx airport should work just like at Cairo Airpot, so if you’re eligible for visa upon arrival, you should be able to get it there. I’ve never flown into Sphinx though - has anyone flown into Sphinx airport before?
I wish I had this video little sooner. I have Indian passport so no option for visa on arrival. Applied for e-visa through this app called ATLYS application was fast and felt too good to be true. Do you think I was scammed ? 😢 How can I confirm this ? I google but couldn’t find any negative reviews on this.
Hi there, I have never heard of this service, so I do not know if it is a scam or not, sorry! My advice is to talk with a reputable travel agency that has helped Indian passport holders travel to India, and even better, contact the Egyptian embassy.
The rates are consistent across the country and are government regulated, so feel free to exchange anywhere :) I find it most convenient to exchange some at the airport, and then use my debit card (linked to my checking account) at ATMs for the rest of the cash I need.
