Ooo. .you make me emotional...cause I'm sarawakian(born in sarawak) and I left sarawak since 1989(im a sailor) and never been back to sarawak since than...cause I live in usa( sweetwater texas since 1991). I watch your vedeo learn how to cook sarawak food and it bring tears in my eyes....and I really missed my country. Good for both of you for this vedeo....and now I think I wanted to going back to sarawak...maybe this year. I do like both of you. Happy food traveling adventure.
Ohhh thank you so much! So glad to know that we brought you back so many great emotions! You should definitely come back home at least for a few months ! ☺️
You know how good you both are and how totally natural when the viewer feels like they are watching a professional cooking show. Totally a quality video. Love you both. X
What an unbelievably irreplacable experience that u guys had!.. Extraordinary execution, stupendous ingredients n the will to cook great dishes...its absolutely an exciting journey to be shared
Cantik and Ria, this is a very, very good video. The host articulated really well on the process and small nuances. I am impressed. I also love the shopping basket. I think I may get one of those as it also limits you from binge buying from the Jaya or Village Grocers in town.
Wow the cooking class was awesome, finally you guys got some serious skill and technic in cooking, no joke there. FYI midin is wild fern and midin can't be plant in a vase or in a garden, it's every where at the roadsides in the bushes also easy to pluck it and cook it.
You can find Midin at Peninsular malaysia too.. In malay food shop @ Nasi Campur during lunch.. Its called Pucuk Paku cooked with chili & prawn paste too (Belacan) At the Jalan Raja Alang market @ Kampung Baru you can buy it there.Remember the Ramadham market where you had the Tepung Pelita, its there..
another stellar episode on your continuing adventures... and once again you were my charming lunchtime companions. it is a good thing I was having curry over rice for lunch or it would have been frustrating. haha. cheers, ladies!
a little bit info for you too, 2:14 He mention about Holiday Inn. Current name is Grand margherita, a 4 star hotel facing towards Sarawak River (Dont forget to ask river view room!). During stay you can enjoy your night at Rajang Bar with live band. Their breakfast are one of the best hotel in kuching!
For the records..this is the only channel that got less dislike so far out of all channels that I had subscribed..keep up the positivity..love u guys..
With my travels, I haven't had much time to watch your videos. Beer for Breakfast marathon tonight!! Yes, after watching you both cook, I'd happily and eagerly eat your cooking.
Happy for both of you beautiful ladies learning to cook Sarawak dishes. The Bumbu Class master like to compare with village and city peoples. We cut the pineapple same way as he was cutting but he mentioned city people's cutting is different. One more thing, his cutting boards very dirty! Anyway his teaching is great 👍. Justina & Micha, both of you can show your cooking skills when both of you back to your home towns! Cheers To Freedom 😘.
Thanks, Jenny!!!! His cutting boards weren't dirty, he's quite a hygienic person! It was just worn off from the amount of people that come to his cooking classes :)
Beer For Breakfast - Remove Stains with Coarse Salt or Baking Soda. Dry the plastic board completely and sprinkle it with a good bit of salt or baking soda. Scrub out the stain using a sponge or a brush dipped into hot water. Or can change to new plastic cutting boards 😉.
Where is my dinner, just kidding. Nice to see you Visited the Sunday Market, can see many many fruits and vegetables that you never seen or tried it before. Nice video, very informative, great experience, the most important is you two happy here. cant wait to see your Sibu trip upload.
I admire you gals for the explore....it is a very special video.....nice to see your cooking skill and we as viewer also can learn more cooking tips....good job and thanks gals!!!
Allo ladies.have you tried all the local fruits.you've the durians.how about the rambutan ,jackfruit, mangosteen.it"s the season now here in most part of malaysia.check it out
Sarawakian dish is not spicy and very mild compare to our Semenanjung counter part. Hopefully next you can try nasi goreng dabai and umai. And oh yes...i love midin so much. I miss it so much since i live in KL right now.
I remember that video when u bought tepung pelita at ramadan bazar in kampung baru, u guys almost eat the pandan leaf since u didn't realise they provide the spoon to eat it😂😂😂😂
Weew looks so good!😍😋 have you ever explore to korean country? please go to korea and you will find more interesting places. korean also have a good variety of foods .. we have satchat hotteok, kimchi, sundju jjgae, tteokbokki. if you go to our country, please visit this place: Nami Island, Lotte World, Yongpyong Ski Resort, Dongdaemun and more 100% you will enjoy it.. thanks God if we have a chance to meet there😋😜❤ -And i love Sarawak too💓
As someone from Peninsular/West Malaysia, I always feel like we don't know much about our brothers and sisters over in the east, makes me want to head over there again sometime in the future. Thank you for showing us all the different food and culture on your travels!
Haha.. I bet they are in bliss watching the video thus not aware of the info. Perhaps you could do spongebob-like transition to get their attention. hehe.
Poopmaster Midin is different from pucuk paku. Pucuk paku is found in Sarawak too but so much different from midin. Midin is crunchy and not leafy. Taste much better.
i can't even peel an onion.... imagine if he ask me to cut the pineapple.... i think i am going to get heart attack... hahahahahah.... its okay.. you guys go ahead cooking.. i am happy watching.. :)
We thought so, we told that to our teacher Joseph but he's never heard about name Tepung Pelita. But it looked and tasted the same :) They call it TAKO here ☺
There are different names for the same cuisine according to where it comes from. In Peninsular Malaysia we call it Tepung Pelita, In Sarawak they might call it Tako. Another example is the Pulut Bakar in Kuala Lumpur but up here in Kedah we call it Pulut Udang. BTW enjoy Malaysian food anywhere you travel in Malaysia. Name is just a small matter.
