Its interesting because domination mode pretty much marks the moment when CA noticed multiplayer had potential to be a significant draw for the game. Rewarding map control is essential for competitive and entertaining PVP battles and the main reason it was never implemented was because the competitive scene was never big enough to cater to. It was always about the fun of smacking the shit out of eachother, but the competitive edge wasn't really there. In fairness the prevalence of artillery in Empire made map control more rewarding in an of itself, but I still think the general trend holds true. Historically TW was about the campaign with multiplayer having a small, but dedicated following. But WHTW seems to have changed that. In no small part due to people like turin.
@@bg3841 also because Dominaion allows for at least some sort of “mass” battle to last from start to finish, instead of 3 cripples shanking each other behind a barn in the end of the match like in usual mode. Cause thats frankly not so fun to watch. And also cause domination prevents the worst cheeses like kite cheese and draw baiting and etc, like hiding stalking units in the corners and other degeneracy.
I just wish they give all the total war games the option to play with heroes and generals like Troy and 3 kingdoms did but done a little better. Don’t need to add magic or nothing. Idk if it’s just me but it’s been hard to go from Warhammer back to a historical title even though they got so many mechanics I wish was added to Warhammer 😂
Something I really hope they change in the khorne dlc is the skull crushers. Not stats or anything but the warriors riding them, lore wise they should have the same riders as khorne chaos knights not bog standard khorne chaos warriors. It’ll just give them that intimidating presence even more especially when it looks like chosen or juggernauts.
It'd be cool if Khorne chosen got a variant of the new slayer trait, where their weapon strength can't be lowered. Idk about balance but thematically Khorne chosen seem like the kind of madlads that would just get angrier if you dared debuff them
Yo love the videos thought I will drop a comment since I am so early, been watching for so long wishing I could play and I finally got a laptop and since I have watched almost all your warhammer vids i’m doing so good lmao
I feel like this matchup you cut Tammy for Epidemius, keep the armies largely the same and bring a single beast with the extra funds since it will be getting extra phys res and add slime trail to your debuff arsenal
epi gets taken to the cleaners by Valkia though doesn't he? and is overall a worse fighter for the grind. Tammy was a in a relatively bad spot here not having any minos to fight and still managed to get his value as an anchor, whereas I feel Epi is a lot more susceptible to Khorne play.
@@totoyuki1 in a vacuum sure, but that 40% phys res when the ability gets charged rly helps, and nurgle still has the tools to outlast. Especially since warriors tend to be taken over bloodletters here. All imo of course but I feel there’s something there
So far the most successful debuff stack I’ve made with nurgle was epidemius with some plaguebearers to start, then add bile trolls, the forsaken RoR, beast of nurgle (surprisingly not bad as a call-in after the initial clash begins) and then reinforce with more bearers and exalted hero plus healer. I never knew barons were yet another debuff so will be adding them to the stack and MAYBE a shrine but unlikely
I'm kinda surprised we haven't seen showcases of the Nurgle Chaos Lord yet. Is he overpriced or something? Because his ability to lower melee attack by 24 and Rot or Die to give damage reflect seems good and I'd figure he'd be decent against Khorne and other melee heavy factions. He's akso a very good duelist thanks to his high stats and debuffs, which allow him to win matchups I for sure thought he'd lose. Also I think if all your Weapon Strength debuffs were active in this build, you could lower the enemy's damage by 53% if my math's right.
TURIN - Is there anything we can do to get Creative Assembly to add the total tavern tournament maps to the standard domination maps in game? Maybe we can start a petition? 😬😅 I’ve downloaded and switched on the map pack from Steam workshop but, for some reason, the maps don’t show in game for me, so I only have two viable maps for dom mode 😔 Also, ignoring my plight, I just don’t understand why they won’t add them? It’s commercial madness! Same with removing chat from game rooms. Even red alert 2, which is run by volunteers, has that basic functionality!
@@cookingforgrandpanurgle So? They should just do whatever needs to be done. I’d understand if they switched it off for 3 months to sort it out. But they’re clearly just not even bothering as it’s been forever 😔😔. This, plus the maps, makes it feel like they just don’t give a monkeys about the multiplayer community. Tonnes of other games have chat (either typed or voice) so i really really don’t understand why they can’t sort it out. But the maps issue is my main gripe because they are just sitting there ready to be used
Every time you say 'Tammy' I think of that woman from the TLCs '1000Ib Sisters' show. She's about the same size as a plague ogre in that show as well 🤣
I wish Exalted Bloodletters were used more, such a badass unit. Wonder if a mass exalted blood letter build (like 3-4 in the starting army) would ever be viable, maybe sauce them up with a bloodreaper on a blood throne?
Hey I'm new to the games Meta but I'm curious. Other then the vanguard deploy why ever pick nurglings over a marauder unit ? They have better stats and double the unit size so for the price difference I don't get it.
I love the difference of strength between campaign and competitive. Khorne is the strongest faction on the campaign but a mid tier one if competitive. Really interesting how different it is.
@@MultiGamer20211 100%. With the blood host you can spawn you easily out number enemies in the early game and will win far before they can field a large enough forces.
Chosen of Khorne are fun, they're so hard to get into combat alive against a Nurgle player who will be killing them at all costs but are worth the fuss if they get there.
seriously khorne need some sort of ability that counter act stacking debuffs like khorne has zero was to counter it and things like chaos warshrines suck at providing buffs. They should have a trait that gives them immunity to contact effects
the nurgle ogres are really good to mix in with your infantry especially with how cheap they are for a tanky damage dealer, its your only real damage dealer akin to khornotaurs
Personally I feel like more nurgle players need damaging spells. Everyone just brings fleshy for heals and that’s it, or maybe rancid visitation. But I constantly see these huge blob fights in nurgle replays where the battle would just be over if they even just brought the breath.
Why don't more korne players bring an alter when they are fighting grindy factions that don't have a lot of shooting? The aura in that middle blob fight would have put in some serious work
Because there still shit. There cost stand between a choas warrior and a chosen, and what you get in return is not that good. The aura, although not bad is not game changing either since it can take sometime beffore it max up. Plus they are shit fighters so it’s not like they can actually help in combet, and factions with no shoting can usually can turn them into mince meat, or you just have less frontline which for WoC is kind of a problem. So overall they are high risk medium reward unit.
