😊 It was the old 'London Bridge' which _was_ "falling down" (_sinking_, actually) but the bridge shown here is _not_ 'London Bridge'... It's 'Tower Bridge' (...as I suspect you already knew?!)😊
I had the almost impossible pleasure of being at the front of the queue when the bridge was opening. It was interesting to see it and also nice to see all the tourists gathering and excited to watch. I think we take London for granted, but when you drive around watching people excited to see various sights, you realise 'oh. That is a kind of cool part of the town'.
Awesome thing to view. I was one of the lucky person to see the bridge opening back in 2011. It was opened for a huge cruise ship named c-colombus. Really great experience...
I still remember the first time I saw that, but I was really young and was on the opposite side than my parents (I was with my brother, I think) and I was so scared I’d never see them again 😂
hi folks, Im looking for the information or resources about the warranty period of Tower Bridge (about any defects must be fixed by the builder and replace by the contractor). Please help !
Seeing as though Tower Bridge was designed and built in the 19th Century... (during HM Queen Victoria's reign) ...good luck finding its builder / construction team nowadays... I suggest you write to: "The London Port Authority", who are most likely in charge of such records.
As often as it's required to allow tall-masted ships or boats to pass under it - or big ships which have tall infostructures upon their decks...like heavily-laden container ships (if, in fact, they have a shallow-enough draught to sail on that part of the River Thames).
wow. beautiful I live in providence Rhode Island and the bridges in another towns Jamestown and Newport bridge are closed up due to it being very rainy and windy today.
