'Soul with a Capital 'S'' was a tune off the 1993 'T.O.P.' album from Tower of Power, but I first stumbled upon in when I purchased a Tower of Power compilation to explore Rocco Prestia's playing.
Now that the soul cover band that I play in is interested in adding this tune to my repertoire, I have an excuse to learn the tune and post it up as a challenge to myself.
Prestia was unique in his consistent 16th note staccato muting, with his secret weapon being his left hand muting technique, which I tried to emulate. Massive stamina is required from the right hand to keep the notes even and punchy (improper right hand plucking technique fatigues the hand faster, so particular attention has to be paid to keeping the right hand relaxed and controlled).
