Hello and thanks for your question. The questions in the question book are NOT the same as questions on the APEA Predictor Exam. The study questions build knowledge and critical thinking. The Predictor Exam simulates the certification exam and determines your likelihood of being successful on the certification exam. It also provides a detailed score report that identifies any areas of weakness, including which specific diagnoses need more study. We have a video about Predictor Exams on our channel. Look for "What is a Predictor Exam?"

Hi Stacie, you will need to check that with the California Board of Nursing. They and the state's legislature would be the ones to make that determination.

P.S. We know that the majority of states do require national certification, and at one time California was one of a handful that did not.

Hey Stacie. California does not require board certification to practice as an NP however most employers require it for employment. As you look into jobs you’re interested in, see if they require board certification.

That's correct, the Predictor Exam does not show rationales because it replicates the features of the certification exam, which also doesn't show rationales. We hope that you've looked closely at your detailed score report. This report identifies the areas in which you need improvement, drilling down to the specific subject area and diagnosis.
