Toxic gamers are never going away, so I'm here to show you a few tricks that you can do when encountering such players. Also this might be my most bliiiiped video, so much cursing. #Salty #Toxic #SeaOfThieves
A friend of mine once asked me why I'm so chill when it comes to online games. My answer "because I know I'm not a pro, and I'm just trying to have fun."
@Jack Dorseys Mom dude, I play to relax, I take every death as a learning experience on how to play better, and how I can make each death count. My victory/defeat ratio in EAs battlefront from a few years ago was 42:20. In the beta I made a name for myself in my friend group for being able to cross map with the cycler rifle. I then started playing MtG and Skyrim like my life was going to end if I didn't. Eventually you learn that rage doesn't get you anything but a broken controller, hell I only raged once while playing Dark Souls 3, and that was dark eater midir.
Awww man this reminds me when I destroyed 3 boats in arena as a solo galleon and they were screaming at me in the lobby until I got kicked. Btw I’m a child
@Jack Dorseys Mom so I assume you used all the uncles words and stuff In sea of thieves and now you’re kinda scared ish That sea of thieves bans such languages
The only time I used”rolls on deck laughing” was when I died to a failed boarding and they spammed it through quick chat and so that’s when me and my friend got revenge and sunk there ship, then I died to someone who just spawned while their ship was sinking, next i met them all in the damned and proceeded to spam, “rolls on deck laughing”.
this is so true. My friend was yelling at me how I was so bad and the worst player ever because he wanted to board by ramming their ship and going directly into their cannon fire for a long period of time, so I just turned a bit wider to get a better position. And the funniest thing was while he was screaming that he failed to board three times I a row and then rage quit lol.
Don’t play with them or let them do that. Not everybody need to be you so stop complaining your friends like your friends complaining about the game, like I am complaining about this comment.
Yeah I don't think the internet is like our older games.... we used to be able to just call someone it back, heck older unreal games were about getting called a F*ggt and the N word by 13 year olds constantly, almost nostalgic and no one would ever report you for something so stupid.
Just yesterday when I and my crew were on a mission aboard our sacred galleon, we saw another galleon fighting the ghost ship fleet. We went there to help them, maybe destroy the fleet with the power of unity and so we shouted we were friendly and helping and started shooting the attacking ghost ships. Then the players galleon turned against us amid the fight and started attacking us. We did not attack back and still focused on the ghost ship, shouting out to stop attacking us and to start attacking the ghost ships. They did not listen and went on shooting our ship until we sank. Then, shortly afterwards, they were destroyed by the ghost ships. So in the end, we both sank and lost everything. They gained nothing from shooting us. So we asked why they did not care for our help and attacked us instead. No answer came and so we went off to continue our quest. A few minutes afterwards, the same ship came up from the horizon, following us. We thought maybe they wanted to thank us or apologyze. We were wrong. They were attacking us again. Us, the people who offered them their help and did not shoot back when they attacked us for no reason. But this time they talked. There was one sentence we could here out: "Greetings from Russia, you fucking niggers" - So we fought back and defeated them. They lost everything again. This is a story about toxicity I recently experienced. I wonder what dwells in the small minds of such pricks but hate. Is there any hope left at all?
Me, before watching this video: "I can't wait to see Pixel respond to the Toxicity in the community." Me, after watching this video: *understands the history of the videogame industry*
Sorry, new player to SOT here and I have yet to play Arena. From what I've heard, isn't there like 0 risk to play arena? like you don't lose anything at all when you play it right? Like can you get loot from arena or is it strictly for practicing/enjoying pvp? Because if that's the case then I don't see why anyone would rage in that gamemode, there's no real objective and it's entirely for fun from what I understand. Sorry if im wrong ab this, im new like I said
The way Sea of Thieves works makes mequestion myself. I mean I'm a PVE player, and it always makes me very angry to be sunk by other players when it took me 1 hour or so to stack some loot. Yeah risk and reward, yeah it's Sea of THIEVES. But honest question : Can you really blame a less skilled player for being pissed (or angry as f*ck) toward someone who just ruined it's efforts and thus enjoyment of the game? Of course there's limits to what can be said in chats but I don't know..I feel like honest anger are legitimate. Listening to this video made me realise I actually am quite toxic, as the simple view of another player ship angers me. I have issues to *accept* they're part of the game too and my inhability to fight properly other players makes it even more frustrating. So if anyone has some tips for anger managment on this game I'd take it. I'd just like to enjoy the game more than getting mad at people.
Uninstall and play a better game. I'm like you and I hate pvp players because 90% of them are toxic scum of the society with an empty life. There are better games than this toxic piece of shit, trust me. Don't help Rare getting more players on their counter, they could even believe they are doing a good job.
I remember when I lost an ashen Athena and they spammed rolls on deck laughing, then they proceed to ddos me after I didn’t retaliate to their insult messages calling me bad
Just subscribed to your channel the other day, love the content and the sense of humor it's the chefs kiss to my reccomend videos list these days. Back into Sea of Thieves because of yourself, I'll be the fat pirate with the amazing mustache, solo slooping till the game is dust, maybe see you on the high seas. Maybe not? (I might live longer that way lol)
Same. Like I'll be playing a standard game with my friends, and I'll get shot. Even though I have nothing. I ask why, and they proceed to say because I sound like a toxic 13 year old. like I just want to have a good time
An important subject, and one I'm trying to work on. A couple of my friends and me started playing a few months ago, so naturally we're still having quite a few pants-on-head incidents during battles. And especially in the beginning, losing really got to me. I NEVER resort to namecalling in gaming, but it did affect my mood in a big way. Now though I'm more relaxed about it all. It's really not the end of the world if you lose the odd fight. Finding your channel actually helped me "get it", and I've learned quite a lot from you. You deserve massive credit for contacting people who feature in your videos, by the way! That's quite rare on youtube. Not everyone is comfortable with being the center of attention, so the fact that you respect this is great stuff. By the way, after finding your channel, I regularly check the crow's nest for northerners. Cheers from Trøndelag! ansjosen.
The only times I'm really toxic is when I'm already quite annoyed. Such as when I did the 2nd (I think) mission for the Shroudbreaker Tall Tale for the first time ever AND did it solo at the same time. Didn't help that I'm a bumbling idiot at times, so what should've taken around half an hour took closer to a full hour. THAT got me annoyed, but what got me to the point of being somewhat Toxic was when, right at the end when I was going to turn in the quest items, a group of three or four jumped me on the island I had to turn them in where the killed me multiple times because I was still getting the hang of PVP, stole the quest items, and set my ship ablaze. Now THAT... that got me. I just went OFF on those people, I was so annoyed. Thank god for quest checkpoints because I did not want to have to go through that ordeal again.
Oooh god i feel you... I wish something could be done for these people aggroing and spawn killing for ages for no apparent reason (like when you literally have no loot and tell them you come in peace), its so akin to bullying lol Thank goodness for checkpoints, and thankfully not everyone is like that What i do now in solo play is to go with the bare minimum of items needed, and if someone tries to kill me for no reason, I salvage some inventory items, kill my boat before they get the pleasure to get mine, and let them kill me if they want lmao or I kill them if I can before then Sometimes I check the horizon and if I see a boat coming towards the respawn islands, i dont even take bets lmao, I empty everything, kill the boat and cram asap xD
One time I checked the sea of thieves discord and the first message i saw was a guy saying that he got one of the beard errors. He asked what it meant, then someone researched it and found that it was an arena ban. Later he told us that it probably was because he was being toxic to someone who was toxic to him, and that got him banned. The sad part is that the guy who started the toxicity didn't get banned.
Pixelsama what do u use for your editing? I really liked the style of this video. I started making videos recently some tips about editing would be so nice :)
Reporting people for what they say is a move for losers. Let them rage, it’s more content, and they will be hated. Anyone who takes away anyone’s game for what they say is afraid of them.
The only reason I support others reporting is because there's obviously children or people in general who can't take toxicity very well and are hurt by what people say, so removing them from a game would somewhat prevent that, despite it not being a huge issue
Yesterday, nn unfortunate server merge for some russian crew. They hauled so much loot... and then met me and my firends on a brig. My headphones almost melted from the flaming ;) Good vid :D
once someone was toxic to mean and my friend saying rolls on deck laughing when he killed my friend my o my it was a diffrent story when i whoped out the stronghold kegs
"you said gg as a provocation" damn dude, this guy can either read your mind, or he literally gets to dictate the intention of your speech for you. He's a God either way, and there is no shame in you "being afraid to take his loot" you're a God-fearing man and there's nothing wrong with that. One time I said "gg" to a guy and he said "reported" I said why and he said because I said "gg". He then said "gg means get good" ....idk who told him that but I then told him "it literally means good game and whoever told you that is wrong/trolling you" he didn't believe me. Needless to say, I was not banned or punished in any way. I'm being entirely sarcastic in case anyone can't tell, just throwing it out there. You'd be surprised how many people need to be told that.
I usually use good fight in non-match based games because gg has taken on such a sarcastic context. When you wipe a deck and fill a ship full of holes without so much as a single death that’s not a gg that’s someone whose probably upset that he’s just had an experience being powerless when games are a power fantasy and generally that’s a grenade best left untouched. I save good fight for dodging salvos of cannon fire and coming out victorious by the skin of my teeth through narrowly besting an opponent of equal or greater skill.
I'm still new so forgive me for my ignorance (assuming you even see this) but what's going on with coins in the top right? I've never seen that before. Specifically during the first clip.
Pretty good video to address the biggest issue with Sea of Thieves (and ultimately all of online gaming). I actually had no idea how to access that report function so thanks for that. I was gonna say though that I'm not so sure you provoking them helps at all. When you're finding yourself laughing at their toxicity, it just kinda makes both of you look like assholes. I also really get aggravated by players who use language like, "I'm better than you." My friends and I play SoT very passively. We try to avoid almost all conflict, and when we do get attacked by other players, we never win. I'll be the first to admit that we aren't good at the game in the slightest. Hearing players use words like "better" or "good at the game" really stings because we're just trying to have a good time. I'm only saying this because I heard you use some wording like that during this video, granted it was directed towards a toxic scumbag lol. All in all, good stuff, Pixel.
Kevinsky Haaz your attitude is the right one. People are "better" than you? Hilarious. It’s a game, but unfortunately people have forgotten what that means.
Hey bro, what you do when they say that, is say “I know man” ether they stop talking to you like that, or look absolutely hilarious when they trash you even more “EHh, gO BaCk To FoRtnIte”
@@connormaykrantz4021 As a subscriber im fully aware, and enjoy his other vids. However His SoT vids are the ones that that I find most entertaining. Is that a problem?
Downloading the game atm, and altho i'm pretty resistant to getting salty (and in very rare *-badum tss-* cases toxic), this is probably the perfect video to watch before going into the game so that i remember to not lose my cool when getting plundered 😀👍
i remember i dude i killed and then i messaged him saying "GG friendo" and cause he wanted to try to kill me again as soon as he saw that he was like "you know what i wont kill you" and now he is the only person i play sea of thieves with (i meani do play with other people ofc)
I had a similar experience with a crew. One dude was being hella racist to my friend (who is of Indian decent) so the dudes friend messaged us and got us in a party. He was really apologetic and now I play sot with him quite often. As for the dude who was racist we reported him but idk if he got banned.
Putting fake text under the blur effect is really big brain because there are some ways to decode the blur to find out relatively what the text under it says. I appreciate your care.
Thank God i found this video. I once had an incident where this dude joined my boat open crew. We forgot one emisary flags and the dude started griefing, we brigged him, and tried getting him to leave.
I had a racist enemy once too. I was finished with a treasure hunt and went to turn it all in when this old sounding dude came in after and shot up my ship. He didn't even get anything outta that since I turned it all in. But dude was shouting the hard N and calling me a cotton picker. Weirdly, since Im not even black
