I think I was 8-11 when I first saw The Puppet Master, always loved them. Worked at Spencers in the 90s and picked up all of the first series, still have them on card stashed away along with a larger boxed version of Blade. Great vid.
I used to have a figure of torch, jester and tunneler back when i was in middle school, i remember bringing torch to school with me for some reason and one of my classmates swiped him from me and i wound up getting it back by giving the guy a bear hug until he finally dropped it and i was able to snatch it up off the floor. The films were pretty good but i was always more of a fan of the child's play/chucky films, anyway good work with this video dude!
Great documentary. It’s a shame many of the toys never got produced. But with the Tiny Terrors finally coming out, maybe there is hope for the release of other figures.
I just got the three box sets of neca puppet master figures for 7$ each set from Target. Blade & Torch, Tunneler and Pinhead, Six Shooter and Jester. They’re amazing and are a great addition to my collection
Dude, this was one of the greatest ones you've put out yet. Puppet Master is a work of art so the fact that you put this toy history together is nothing short of amazing
@@EdsRetroGeekOut It was such a good idea. I really like the fact that there's so unknown and they're so independent. It's really cool and the story. The horror movie is just so good
I remember lusting after these in the comics and toy magazines I used to flip through as a kid. They looked so much better and detailed than any toys I had ever seen. The print ads they had made them looks real!
One of my favorite movie lines. I started watching earlier than I probably should have. I had a handful of the toys including a 12" blood splattered blade variant that I later sold for quite a bit
I have my Blade figure hanging on the wall right above my screen, so my eyes are wandering from the screen and to the wall looking at the figure thinking, i really dig that figure and i am glad i have it. Would love to have the rest of them. Great video man, i very much enjoyed it! Happy Halloween!
I lost my mind over these when they first dropped. For the longest I only had Pinhead (with real cloth sweater!) and he served as my main goon figure for whatever baddie Batman was facing that day. I eventually got my favorite puppet Torch some time later. So glad Neca revisted these and did a stellar job on the first four. Can't wait to get Six Shooter and Jester.
Grew up watching the Puppet Master movies on VHS (before I was legally allowed to here in the UK) and bought all the red-carded re-releases of the original Puppet Master figures... Which I still have to this day, along with a replica Blade, a 12" Decapitron and the old Spencer's Gift Blade statue AND a ton of the comics that came out around the same time. And despite owning all those I still bought the Neca releases and will continue to do so!
Fantastic video! Very well done. I love this series and try to collect a lot of their items. I just did a sneak peek video for the 35th anniversary trading card crowd fund. I'm also getting a batch of their Tiny Terrors and NECA toys. I unboxed 3 of the Tiny Terrors before but didn't get the ones I wanted.
Puppet Master. It rings a bell. Probably i was 10 years old or maybe younger. I saw it sometime on TV. And i liked it, never knew there were so many movies. And as of the toys, i didn't have any. When i was 6 or 7 i also watch the first Hellraiser movie. So yeah, i've grown up with adult horror movies as a child. Something that was normal back in time. A few days ago i watched Ghoulies part 1. Maybe this evening i will watch part 2. Classics from the 80's :D
Best 90s toy line. Loved collecting these as a kid with my dad. Also I swear i think the Japanese medicom tunneler you show multiple times in this vid is one i sold but i cant be certain, it looks exactly like one i sold the shelf wear and everything.
I regret not being able to get any of these back in the day, but they were out of my price range and hard to come by when I was younger. I'm really glad that companies like NECA and Super7 are working with the license today.
Awesome video, absolutely brilliant! I've had to give up on your toy hunt videos as it's 80% closeups of men's faces, mainly your mates... and only 20% showing the toys 😔 But this is video is BRILLIANT, your skills at making these deep-dives and specials is amazing, and I can't wait til the next one. Keep up the good work! Much love from the UK 🇬🇧
Love toy history and surprisingly I still have wave one of the puppet maters toys and some of the newer ones. Torch is my favorite puppet master to this day.
I saw the first one when I was in Middle School... would walk up to Blockbuster with friends and rent horror flicks or scifi each week. Was hooked on Full Moon stuff from the start. Bought as many as I could of these back in the day when the shop in the mall would put them on sale... sadly that didn't include the first wave. Got most of the Retro line tho, and the big versions of Decapatron and The Pimp from Blood Dolls. (Seriously underrated flick) Just bought a Totem off eBay... and the NECA Tunneler & Pinhead. Just got the urge to get back into these last year.
I ❤ 90s Toys especially Todd McFarlane's Toys. Thanks Ed for sharing the Awesome History of the Puppet Master Toys. I don't own any Puppet Master Toys but I have a few McFarlane Toys in my Mancave Collection. 🤓👍👍
Ive always ADORED Puppet Master! my favorite has always been Blade, and my Brothers Favorite is Six Shooter. he also loves Jester, and im fond of Tunneler as well. tbh i love them ALL! but those are just my all time favorites!
I have one of the biggest puppet master/ fullmoon collections out there. Great video! I need the Japanese blood splatter variant if anyone has one. I do have the 12in version limited to 100
I heard one of the usa released blood splatters version’s got lost cuz the company they licensed with didn’t fulfil their commitments .. is any of this true or did those eventually get out?
@@EdsRetroGeekOut they did a few blood splatters for retro puppet master. Those ones are more common to find. I’ll have to ask around about that I’ve never heard of a lost one but there very well could be. There are so many variants to this line it’s my favorite to collect. I have gold weapon versions glow in the dark and so much more. I need to get a new video of my collection posted
@@EdsRetroGeekOutI spoke to the man Rick Phares himself. He does not know of a lost blood splatter but he said he could have happened after he left fullmoon. I also was able to snag a piece out of his collection 😬
I use to have almost all of the main characters. Sadly, I had to sell them off. I own the Neca versions...But honestly the Fullmoon toys I like better.
