I wish awesome golf would use median rather than mean distance measurements. For those of us with inconsistent ball striking it would be useful if the statistics would ignore the worst outliers. Even here, if you Look at the metrics at 6:46 you’ll notice that the one short shot throws off the mean in a way that it would not throw off the median, providing more useful club distances.
I have awesome golf and use it a lot. Thanks for the vid, I had no idea about the community app. I downloaded it today. It is amazing…and yes, it has all my data since I started using Awesome Golf. Very useful tool. For the price, you can’t beat this App. It is more fun to me than any other app and I absolute the approach shot range session. I really wish they would add a green at 140. There is a 125 and a 150. I hit my PW 135-140. Cut a 9 to 140. Draw a Gap wedge to 135. So right now I have to use the 150 green and it comes up short at front green. Or the 125 green and I fly it into the water. I like my clubs with 10 yard gaps I don’t understand why they did not put more greens out at a minimum of 10 yard increments. Especially since you can 360 degree pivot around the range.
The increments are something they could improve for sure, maybe it will come in a future update as I know they are improving all the time. If you haven’t joined their facebook community group it may be worth suggesting on their as they monitor it I believe and listen to suggestions 👍🏼⛳️
The sigma isn’t quite dispersion…it’s the sample standard deviation. +/-1 std deviation covers approx 68% of the shot population. +/-3 std deviations cover 99.73% of your expected distribution. So, your worst expected distance is the average - 3std deviations, and the best is best would be the average +3 std deviations (assuming a normal distribution) I wish the developers would allow you to put in the width of the fairway you are visualizing (center of fairway +/- half the width). Thus way, the app could calculate Cpk and you could see your swing (process) capability. You could shoot for a Cpk not less than 1.0 and center of fairway would be about 1.67. I downloaded my data (using the .csv file function) and I have 1 master excel document I keep it all in to see how my numbers change over time. I have improved my 7 iron avg carry from 142 to 160yds by using the data to see which swing changes benefit my results the most. Nice video 👍🏻😀

Excellent video Ty. What launch monitor where you using in the video? I'm going to be setting up a caged in net in the backyard 10feet wide and deep by 12feet high with astro turf. My plan is to buy Awesome golf outright and solely use that so I don't add another monthly bill to my life. I'm trying to decide between the Garmin R10 and the ML2Pro. With that being said do you know if I would have to pay the $200 a year subscription with the ML2Pro if I was only using Awesome Golf? In your experience which one would you recommend for my set up? Ty
I have the same screen size as you and am using the MLM2pro. My projector is the LW500ST which has the 1:1 aspect ratio setting. When i load awesome golf, it displays horizontally even though i have selected 800x800 on my projector. I'm using my iphone to connect, any suggestions on how to make the image fill the screen like yours? Thanks!
Would you say Awesome Golf is the best IOS golfing simulator option available? I'm someone who has a BLP but since I have to use my sim outside it's a lot less complicated to open an app on my IPAD rather than remote in with it to my gaming computer every time I want to load up GSPro
For the higher handicapper who is serious about improving, you will not find better software for the practice junkie. The ability to do club mapping is so critical to improving your score.
The “community” app can be used after turning off the launch monitor. It can be used without the launch monitor being on. I access my data and download the .csv file to my computer without the garmin being on.
