Eh, I disagree, I can't see that tweet as anything but 100% reverse psych. The way it reads in my head just doesn't sound at all like a half-truth. "Fake News" has been such a huge joke on the internet since Trump's first claims of fake news. "go back to your homes" also feels very joke-like as "nothing to see here" is a deflect often used when there is something to see, and the hashtag feels like a "Trust me" wink.

My timeline was that Carl fell in love with Emma Jean, but married her sister. Emma has two daughters (Jennifer and Jill) with another person, Jennifer marries Mister Davis and has Andy and Molly. We can assume Molly is around, maybe 2 years old based on her appearance. Perhaps something caused a break up, or he was possibly, maybe KIA during an assignment in the military. Jill marries William Anderson and they have Riley. Maybe, Carl and Ellie send Andy the postcard to remind him of his family after his father died. Ellie is Riley, Molly and Andy's great aunt. If Molly was only a baby when he left, it would make sense that two years were enough to get over his death.

I don't why I just noticed that the name Andy can be short for Andrew. Maybe the character was based off of Andrew Stanton's own childhood. So when he said #Iwasthere maybe he wasn't lying. And the whole comment itself is just saying "yes, there is actually more to the story, but that's for me to know, and you to find out." Well played Andrew Stanton. Well played.

It's also quite possible that this was a backstory idea that one writer had and never shared with the other writers. The writers definitely discussed that Andy's dad was "gone," but the fact that none of the writers have ever really publicly discussed what "gone" means possibly means that some of them didn't think very hard about it. I'm an actor, and I'm the kind who does TONS of research for a character, building backstories, weaving in little details for myself to make the world of the play richer for myself, etc. Not all theater people are like this. I've worked with actors and directors who love building that world with me, that whole backstory, and then I've worked with people who think that's a big fat waste of time. So I don't always share all of the backstory I've built with all the other people I'm working with...to some of them, it's just irrelevant noise. I mention this because I have to assume the same is true in every creative endeavor. There are some people who thrive in the minute details, and those who prefer working on the piece as a whole, focusing on the bigger picture. It's possible that the writers working on the backstory, responsible for deciding what to include in Andy's house and such, would not feel the need to share all of that detail with other writers whose focus was on the story being told within the film itself. Just another theory...

In my sleep I dream that Woody remembered that he was actually, specifically Andy's dad. As he saw a human picture of himself disintegrating. Talking to Buzz Lightyear that they are just the same, means that Buzz will not remember anything about his original life.

Andy probably has it because he was solving his family and I think that he solved it out because he seems more calm and collected in the 3rd film, he probably also was just learning about why his dad actually left because mothers lie to protect their children but as he aged he was told the truth but he thinks there’s something more to it

Generally I completely agree with your theories. But this time you've got it wrong. You are saying they were just discussing ideas and Mozard just heard what could have been but didn't happen. But the thing is that Mozard asked his friend about Andy's dad after Toy story 2 was released as an argument that the series wasn't perfect and had no plot holes. Which means that the story that Joe told to Mike must be the truth. And this goes along with their first talk where Joe asked Mike what would make a toy invaluable? He had thought of the idea already and Mike helped him finish it. But then that must mean that either Mozard is lying or Stanton which I don't believe . OR as you said the whole thing is a half-truth but a different one than what you said. What I believe happened ( And really it is the only plausible explanation) is this: Joe Rahft did come up with this idea as the main canon after his first talk with Mozard. But when they sat down to brainstorm about the characters of the upcoming movie and made the first scetches ( The ones from the first house) Rahft realized that they weren't going to think about the dad because he didn't really matter to the story they were telling. So he kept his story to himself. And when Stanton says " I was there" I believe he refers to this final decisive meeting . Though I agree Emma Jean sounds more like the story they should delve further into, in the future -- Toy Story 4 would be good. I don't think it's a good idea to completely dismiss Andy's dad, even though he wasn't meant to be apart of the story. They can still make Raft's story, an official one. I mean, it'd be a good way to honor his memory. Also, who is to say Andy's dad doesn't have a connection to Emma Jean? By telling his story, it can connect her, and UP together.

Perhaps posting from his phone was part of the plan by Pixar. If he is the only one to post ask your self why him and why from his phone? Perhaps to lower suspicion of his no Pixar’s post with out it being Pixar doing it them self but why not do it there self why hide behind one guy why that guy? That’s the real question here.

I was and still am partially convinced that the guy in the bros' video was making up the conversation to get attention. It all felt too much like a thought-out story, rather than a retelling of a conversation. What convinces me the most in all this is the idea that the creative directors caught wind of the video and got together to discuss what their response would be before any of them posted on Twitter.

ok so in the second post about bill leaving andy and molly mom makes it seem like he just left. but what if Jennifer cheated on bill and he left and married jill which is why they had to move. this might explain the credit card her name was formerly what was on the card, but she changed it after marrying bill so that her sister could not find out that they eloped. so Jennifer cheated on bill Davis and had molly, so bill just left without any word ( why no pic of him are around because Jennifer hates him for just up and leaving) and then married jill Davis but they changed bills last name and jill changed her first name ( the one on the credit card) so that Jennifer Davis would not find them, and this is why they moved states, because the movie inside out makes the moving seem supper fast and almost unplaned, and this would explain why they don't have very much stuff in their new house compared to the old house.

While doing a quick google search on charles muntz (because i thought maybe charles muntz was connected to emma jeans) I found someone from up named steve, he is a construction worker with blue eyes and curly bright blonde hair, he is the one that tries to fix carl's mailbox after a truck hits it, but gets hit by carl. Maybe andy's mom cheated with steve, which causes molly, and a divorce with andy's dad.

Maybe the creators try to stop this mystery from reaching the truth.And the truth may be so shocking that it needs to stop.

I've got a theory for you. Bill may be Andy's dad, think about it all the right traits as proven by Riley's blue eyes and his brown hair but that's why we never see any photos of Jill and Bill either. So what happened was Bill started dating Andy's mother then cheated on her with Jill, Andy's mom found out and dumped him but she only was able to tell by them both acting weird and him calling her out. Jill was only pregnant with Riley so he went to her, and Jill knew the entire time and she stayed with him out of jealousy of her sister. After all that Andy's mom dated again and her new partner did something not consensual causing her to dump him, but that got her pregnant and she only found out when she went into labour with molly. Also, how are you not sure that Andy's mom's mom is Riley?

I have a theory that before the movies take place, Andy's Dad and Emma Jean left and got together and then when Up starts, THEY'RE the ones sitting in the front row!!!!

If they were really paying no mind to this idea when they created the final version of Toy Story then it still seems strangely fitting. Unless Stanton knows of a better backstory then I don't see how he really could have genuinely been debunking this. Like you said, it's the semi-truth so I think we should hang on to it. There is truth in it.

What if he knew it was real, but didn't like the canon?

Okay so I’m kinda invested in this, I’m actually prepared and have the ability to search for Emma and Significant other, I have all movies, (Up, Inside Out, and all of the Toy Story series, although the first they’re more likely to reuse models a bit more since it was an earlier production) I always thought it was weird that despite never being able to have kids, and you plainly see the nursery being made in preparation, you never see it again, what happened to it? Was it changed as not to remind Ellie what she couldn’t have? Or did the couple somehow when contacted by Emma raised one of the children to help her sister cope with the inability to have children. Andy’s mom nor Riley’s mom seem to mention or even remotely suggest knowing about a sister. It would be odd for them to share the same mom, yet have no noticeable knowledge of each other. They would’ve have to been raised separately. This is probably how the postcard addressed to Carl and Ellie got into Andy’s possessions, it’s a memento to the mother that raised Jenifer and her actual mom having some sort of contact. As for Riley’s mom I have little to go off of, we know they lived in Minnesota, didn’t know where that was going as the real location of a replica of Carl’s house is in Utah, even the real house that inspired the story of Up was in Seattle. I struggle with things relating to Inside Out from an analytical standpoint since I’ve quiet honestly refused to watch the movie after Bing Bong “died” (if you want to know if he truly died just read the comment I put after this lol) I will be rewatching and looking for things frame by frame.

I just had an idea about the "Who's Andy's Dad?" Toy Story theory. What if Andy's dad is affiliated with or is one of the creators of the "Woody's Round Up" franchise? I know the franchise is from the 50s, but if his father was considerably older than his wife and possibly died after Molly's birth, then that would explain why he wasn't around. It would also explain why a kid like Andy would have a super rare vintage toy like Woody, complete with hat and boots, without Woody having any memories of previous owners before Andy (Like Jesse does). But I feel like this opens up a question. Why doesn't Woody remember his own mythology (the Round Up, Bullseye, Jesse and Prospector)? As soon as Buzz was out of the package, he not only knew his own storyline in detail, he was convinced it was real life. So why doesn't Woody know about his own franchise?

Alright, has anyone thought of this? What if in the interview by the brothers when asked who Emma Jean is he lied? Or at the very least made something up. In the backstory of up, you never see Carl with anyone else, no children. If he was the father of two kids before he married you think they would visit the house, that he would have pictures of them growing up, having families and so on. What if he said Emma Jean was an old lover just to throw people off? What if they don't even know who Emma Jean is? So going off of him saying that Emma Jean was "this" might throw everything off the rails. Might need to take that interview out of your next one and see if you can even link Emma to anything other then a postcard.

Since Andy's mom seems to have a connection with her for a long time (referring back to when she delivers the box full of toys mentioning how "Andy's not a little boy anymore, he's going to college"). Clearly they haven't seen each other for a while but was still kept up to date on a few things (since Andy's mom knew about Bonnie at some point when bonnie is like 4). Just cuz Andy's mom and dad broke up, doesn't mean she can't be friends with his sister and have tabs on her nephews. Could explain why Andy and Bonnie had such an imagination and strong connection with their toys and more importantly Woody...but you know, just a theory Oh, and there's also that picture of Andy in glasses that could be Andy's dad? This might be old but watching this video last night and the movie came on today and made me think. What about Linguini, his 'real' name is Alfredo Linguini, which could be an alias. Also he has curly hair, the younger sister. He have light brown hair but he could have been born a blonde and it got darker as he got older. He has an American accent so maybe he ran away from Andy's family and went to Paris.

I know I'm very late to the story. I love your theory. Why Andy would have the postcard?. Emma Jean living in France sends Carl and Ellie a postcard. 7 to 10 business days or I dont know how long it would take for cross Atlantic postage. Ellie passes away. The next day Carl gets in trouble. Then at least another day later launches his balloon home. Leaving the mail box. When giving your address to the postoffice theres a second address you have to give them incase your box cant be found, to full or your house flies away. So Toy Story 3 would have to take place at least a week or greater after Up. You have me watching these movies in a whole new light.... Thank you for your videos. I think there are two canoncitys, fan canon and the true canon. The fan canon has things not exactly shown in the films then the true canon is the things actual staff at pixar have said and things shown in the films.

i think the fact that he told his friend means it was an idea idk if he'd reveal it to his friend if he was going to put it in the movie if he cared as his friend wouldn't want that to be spoiled for him. only a guess though, the guy could also have no liked the idea when it was brought up so it's not canon it was just an idea that was maybe turned down cause one guy didn't like it. and they care for everyones opinion.

The movies most likely to have Emma Gene are any Toy Story, Finding Nemo/Dory, Up (End Credits), Ratatouille, or Inside Out. For Incredibles, they would be younger since it is set in the 60's. That should limit the possibilities.

Okay, I know this video was made 2 years ago and I haven’t watched the rest of the theories on Toy story, up, & inside out. In fact I haven’t even watched inside out 😂. BUT I NEED you to see this bc I think I’m getting somewhere with my theory. P.s my theory is uh 😐 dark TW: rape Emma and Carl were together first intern having two kids, Jennifer & Jill, but then Carl and Emma spilt bc Carl fall in love with her sister 🤔 Ellie , but they remain good friends . Later when Carl and Ellie get married we see a suspected Emma in the front row with a suspected lover in the church . Starting with Jill bc I don’t have much bc I haven’t watched Inside out. Well Jill has a picture of Ellie bc well she is suspected aunt . That’s all I have on her 🤣😭 For JENNIFER , CRAZY THEORY! The family was all very close , and Jennifer and and suspected stepdad (guy in the front row with suspected Emma) were particularly close . Little did little Jennifer know he was taking advantage of her and trying to get closer to her . One day when she was maybe 15 or 16? Suspected lover of suspected Emma raped Jeniffer and got pregnant with Andy. Jennifer kept this a secret for a very long time but when Andy was born Jennifer told Emma and she kicked him out and wanted nothing to do with him . Ofc Jennifer would have this secret to tell Andy when he was older . I’m thinking Jennifer told him when he was in his maybe pre teen years and had a major attachment issue with his toys . And I’m also thinking Woody was given to him by his gma Emma (I’m guessing they were close, and they kept in contact through the years and why he had a post card from her) . Also with this grandfather/ step father/ father theory , this also could be supported by Andy having many traits of the guy in the front row of the church and that Jennifer has completely NOTHING related to pretty much any guys in the house . And Molly came from a guy with obviously very blonde hair but Jennifer was afraid of moving him in, afraid of what happened when she was younger happening again which also explains why there’s no man again in toy story 3 .
