MENPACHI is a long time favorite of Kosugi locals. Inside, it's very nostalgic of an older era of Japan. The menu is simple... black ramen... black ramen with charsiew... black ramen double size... you can accompany any of the three with rice or rice ball (covered with torero seaweed, a Toyama specialty). The soup was not overpowering, and had some hints of Chinese spices. There are no spoons... you just drink by picking up the bowl. The noodle was a little thinner than normal, slightly softer. the charsiew was fantastic. Thick yet in between hard and soft... hard enough to pick up but melts in your mouth once bitten.
