The best battle I ever seen I my life. They dancing, they are free. This is HOUSE THIS IS FREEDOM. We don’t care about steps. They dance with their soul. And this is the most important.
"we don't care about steps"... huh? Are u saying that "we" or "u" don't care about footwork in a house dance battle? If not, it wouldn't be a house dance battle. It would be a dance showcase, and there is nothing wrong w dance showcases. But there's levels to house dance skills! Level up or loft on!!! #brickcity
Mahjid Tarantino I’m a house dancer and of course I care about steps and footworks. BUT, in this kind of moment, yes I do not care about it because when you see that, by That I mean two womens which have obviously a high level as a dancer and house dancers, it’s very cool to see them express themselves because they are just speaking with their soul. You know theses women don’t have to prove anything to anybody and this is what they did and I respect that so much. You wanna see them doing steps ? Watch the final or the judge battle. But this round was just over something we cannot control. The love of the music and the dance. So yes maybe some people won’t like what I’m posting right now but I don’t care, this is just a battle and that don’t definite the kind of people we are in life. It’s just a moment of our life. And for this moment I say thank you and congrats to theses ladies
@@Boubou_belbak As a house dancer, for that to be the best battle you've ever seen, says a lot (or a little) about what you have seen! #realtalk! I loved watching them show art and passion in their dance expression. But if it is a "house dance battle", skills is what it is all about. Twerking and lofting can be sexy and even skillful, but footwork finesse is paramount. If u don't think so, create ur own genre, cause ur wack! "House dance" is founded on NY hip hop street essence expressed over 120+ bpm music. Don't get it twisted. The battles are about "I can dance better than u", not "I am sexier than u"! #realtalk #brickcity
Nene is one of the most fluent dancer. Great balance between fast and slow movements. Everything has shape in the context of the music. Never just showing off.
That was spiritual ! i felt like i was dancing with the ancestors and i was just watching it lol! i love the entire thing including them honoring each other!!! this was a whole vibe lol
Very elevated!! No such thing as losers and winners..or competition in this shared expressions of movements and dance. This music dance journey was of and about Presence.
wow, this is the personification of letting the music control your body. Nene at the end was just astonishing. i know in that moment there was nothing else around but the music and herself. under a complete trance guided by the music.
This is the best battle year I've ever seen in my life!!!Yo~~~SUMMER DANCE FOREVER, you're running the hip-hop world now! I love it!!!Finally I can see a lot of real (love to others& peace in body) through all kind of dance styles,Bravo!!!
Oh My god. I need to get back to life, but I can't until this is over. "It's not over... between you and me." Toyin is so amazing to watch, here. What a special artist!
Toyin first round.................Her first two rounds are wildly satisfying, but there wasn't enough house footwork to really seal the deal. Ne'Ne' did more traditional house and Toyin was in a motherland mode more than I've ever seen her. I'd love to see these two in a piece together.
ANCESTRAL bro, you made my day, I lost all my hope and was about to fall in darkness forever, but you saved me and returned to the right path. Thank you.
@@TheEnock10 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dHVNiSodDBY.html This is not house dance which is basically what the ladies were doing with a few house moves sprinkled in. Lol.
Definidamente não foi uma batalha, foi um show das estrelas da noite, melhor que a final✨Definitivamente não foi uma batalha, foi um show das estrelas da noite, melhor que a final✨
@@stephaneog3977 Nah man. All you have to do is watch Frankwa who won this event vs Brooklyn Terry who he eliminated or watch the final which was Frankwa vs Nene and that might be more of what you're looking for. It was definitely what I was looking for. I'm more of a footwork along with some floor moves type of house battle fan.
I see scorpx, stephanie Emmanuel, and Michael McKenzie have no clue of what house dance is. House dance is not just about steps it's a feeling is supposed to be soulful and is definitely African dance influenced. Its actually refreshing to see people finally dancing in their own style vs. What everyone copies from a class or the founding fathers. And as for Brooklyn Terry if you knew anything about what you were observing you would know that he gave that win to frankwa . Brooklyn Terry is on such a higher skill level than frankwa. It's not about how many steps you know it's about how you vibe to the music.
@@artallen733 First of all, I never said that Frankwa actually danced better than Terry. I was saying it was a good battle and stated what the facts were, which were that Frankwa eliminated Terry and that that battle should have been the final. Maybe I may not know about house dance battling because I've never been in an organized battle, but I do know about house dance which I have been a part of since mid 80s to this day and I'm 56. She has the right to dance any style she wants, but I wanted to see a style of house dance which I gravitated to since the beginning. I enjoy seeing crazy footwork and floor moves. I know house is a feeling just like any other dance style, but when you have a house dance crowd who have probably learned how to house dance by taking classes and who are going to be in the crowd, I get the feeling they're gonna wanna see a style of house dance that they're familiar with if you want their cheers. If I was there, I would have cheered for Nene and I usually like the way Toyin dances. When you're at the club, you can dance to house anyway you want, but in a house battle, the crowd wants to see house. Just my opinion.
@@Crobin008 look up any battle Toyin has entered and you'll see she absolutely understands the fundamentals of house. In this moment she chose to abandon the footwork for pure motion. Also last time I checked lofting is a fundamental of house
Brian from Los Angeles this was not house dance but self-expression rituals and dance which is cool but not the essence of house. I'm very disappointed in the judges.
Brian you dont have a clue of what house dance is. That was house in its raw essence. It's not about some moves you learn in class it's about self expression. Both of those ladies have skills.
That's why there are so many dancers out there that look like clones. I'm sure your 9ne of them. Because they think house dance is in some boxes category. House is west African dance house is popping amd.lock8ng house is break dance. It's all of those. Man I think you should research your history before opening your mouth
@@artallen733 Art How old are you 12. I saw the origins of rap hip hop house music house dance ect in Chicago New York L.A. San Fran so be quiet please. I was born in 1966 so I've seen it all with my own eyes that shit ain't house it self expression but not house sorry I'm a purest.
I'm not 12 I grew up in the eighties I know what house is. I guess if your some type of commercial dancer then maybe you might have that perspective. I dont think your a purest at all. Any perest would know that this is house. Self expression creates ones own individual style. Ask the real OG'S. HOUSE IS A RITUALISTIC DANCE. DUHHHHHHHHH
James Lazaridis all house derived from African movement! So this is actually house! Have an opinion but don’t slander someone else’s movement because you don’t understand it.
Housedance is definitely dead in 2019. I am sad to see what will be taught in the so called housedance classes . If contest winners are the new accredited housedance teacher and reference for the masses . I sadly understand why the level is dead. This dance was once revered for its vocabulary and groove and musiclity. today it is just wakanda dances (pantsula , gwara gwara, kuduro) if that is your definition of housedance we are lost. If this is supposed to be the best of Housedance of Today: Housedance is over. housedance now means off beat footworkers with zero musicality and groove.
off beat footwork with zero musicality and groove that win dance contest against that "pure" house of yours until there is nothing left of it. In restrospect appealing to the mass is what a dance is for, and sadly for you that pioneer house you are talking about is not cut for the task.
