😂 I was just looking at this place online for our next trip and told my husband "I wonder if anyone has done a video on this place yet?" I opened up RU-vid and your video was there, posted 7 min ago. Perfect timing!
Love your program coz u explained map, station to take , things to avoid not only good things. So those are information I cannot find from other channels. And your energy is so refreshing. The Japanese words you showed on the screen sometimes also unique and a gòod way to learn a bit Japanese for fun.
Such an enjoyable walk with you, Rion. A nice experience to have explored interesting places and yummy food along the way. Wow, beautiful sunset view overlooking atop the Sky Garden! 😊
Wow, what a charming place to visit and to enjoy various food. I remember it from your previous video when it has been still under construction and already at that time it seemed a fun to me. It is really well done in as you told us Edo and Kabuki traditional archtecture but inside so many modern places to eat, everything so well blended. The atmosphere is great although for my taste a bit too crowdy in general but still there are a few spots with less people. No wonder, it has been recently opened, so everyone is trying to visit it. Your food looked nice and yummy, although started with dessert, which was so inviting at first but gone so fast. The foot bath is quite a surprise but obviously a nice place to chill in the end. Sunset panoramic scenery just rounded up the whole video, really perfectly done. Thanks and congrats for everything. GAOOOO!!
I enjoyed your video. You go into great detail and I appreciate you showing us the prices. My favorite part was the observation deck with the foot bath and the view. We will definitely visit Toyosu. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for mentioning about the elevator. That is a very useful info for people who are wheelchair bound or for people using kiddie strollers.
Super love the way you explain not only the food but handicrafts as well. I was there on 2 Feb 2024, two days after it opened. IIRC the super cold and heavy snowfall was on 5 Feb, my last day before leaving Tokyo. Wished this video was up before I visited. We could have benefitted from your many advice and explanation. Subscribing to keep up to date on Japan.
Rion, hello. I like that you are informative and it's much appreciated. I plan on getting to Japan maybe by this summer or possibly by December, 🤔 & back on Patreon next month. 😄
Konniciwa Rion, Just finished watching your great and thoroughly entertaining video, you went to some nice places and eat well, food looked delicious, I love sake and Matcha. I look forward to in the near future more great videos from you mate. Have an amazing day. :))
Thank you Ishida-san for showing us this new attraction at Toyosu with your nice video. We look forward to the experience. And yes indeed, the king crab / beer combination was Saiko !
I was there during the grand opening, atmopshere was great. Tried a few eateries and restaurants, price is similar to other places for the quality that you get. If you like fresh oysters, there is a oyster bar that must try.
@@thenarrativefilmmaker470 I am not sure if the footbath here has the benefits of a hot spring, ♨️but when you enter the hot spring, your body will be warm for a relatively long time. I think the footbath alone is enough to warm your body. Should I go to try it?😂 I was irresistibly tempted to try it…♨️
Your channel is the “uni” one for me when it comes to Japan travel guides cuz you take the time to show us the train stations, walking routes, and maps (so helpful to see that the fish market & teamLab is really close by). ✨ Better yet, hearing your perspective as a local is fascinating & fun (so glad that the prices are pretty reasonable for locals & visitors). 😊 During my first visit, I had a latte at a local cafe, and I didn’t realize the little cup of clear syrup was a sweetener, so I passed on it. 😅 (It was still oishii tho. ☕️) In the States, we have sugar packets, but I’ve never had to use them with my lattes. 🤔 But later, when I got an iced hojicha, it definitely tasted better aka meccha oishi with the syrup. 😋 Let’s keep drinking! 🍻
I’m in Tokyo at the moment, I wish I saw this video sooner, I’m leaving tomorrow 😅, by the way I’ve been wearing my T-shirt ever since I arrived, I guess I was lucky the temperature was always around 19 degrees.
“せーの(Se’eno) is a kind of labor chant to synchronize the timing of start at a competition.” It’s like “Ready, set…” and instead of “go,” it’s “gao” (the sound of a lion’s roar in Japanese).
We went early last week, the day it snowed in Tokyo. It was ok for the little bit we were there as we went prior to going to TeamLab Planets exhibit. I felt Tsukiji had more to offer but the indoor part was welcoming on that cold day we were there
We went there today then to tsukiji- as a tourist, I think you should still go and try both. We liked tsukiji better as they have more selections of sushi ❤
Hi Rion, enjoyed ✌️the vlog of new Kabuki style Street food. Seems like you love King/Alaskan crab ,I did rem the last time you had bad experience in Nijo(Sapporo) hope you‘ll find nice Hokkaido seafood again…..
@@treviso5 well I have been to only teamlab borderless with one of my Kiwi female friends in Tokyo when it was located in Odaiba,Tokyo and it has re-opened in Azabudai hills,Tokyo this month. so I can't tell ye which one is better. sorry about that. cheers
11:33 unagi meccha Oishiiii😁🤨👍😋, 11:46 yummy yummy gindako 😋, 12:11 wow! love this amazing dessert 😋! 16:55 The sweets and matcha work together perfectly😋, when Rion bites it, we can hear sakusaku, the matcha drink is of course delicious😋👍👏. 19:48 😧maguro cushion, so weird😅. 21:46 What a beautiful kanzashi hair accessory😍 . 24:16 crab with beer 😋, 25:25 ah 😉😄👍, a lot of crab meat🦀! 31:56 beautiful sunset view🤩😍! 35:57 Sit on the grass, drink a cup of hot coffee and enjoy the panoramic view🦦🥤🏞️😍! Thank you so much Rion let’s keep walking at Shijomae Station to Senkyakubanrai Food Street~千客万来~😉👍, Tsukiji Fish Market and Toyosu Kabuki style Fish Market, each one is different from all others and has something special foods 😋🤝!
Hey all, food prices are double here. Best to go to Ueno food market, much cheaper and better or..mall basement food stores. This place is a tourist trap.
Yeah their prices is a bit above than an average prices…but this is tourist spot in tokyo that’s why is their prices are higher than average… in the tsukiji is also has a higher prices than average sushi place… But the variety of store are better than the tsukiji… so if you budget traveller better not to go there
hey Rion I always hear you using japanese phrases I can't quite figure out like at 24:02 when you receive the crab & beer. as a foreigner it always feels kind of weird to me to say "arigatou gozaimasu" to everyone when it seems like there's a lot more variety among native speakers. any tips?
Hi, in this video & past ones, it seems to be a common combo for Rion to say “Sumimasen” followed by “Arigato gozaimasu” (but he truncates this latter phrase to be quicker and casual). When there’s food involved, sometimes he adds a final “Itadakimasu.”
Personally I didn't really care for any of the food streets I went to. They all seemed to be selling the same products with limited space and comfort. I suggest people check out the basements of department stores instead.
When we travelled to Tokyo for the first time, I hired us an Indepedent tour guide ..... She showed us around Tokyo but discouraged us from buying or dining in Tokyo because everything was inflated and "watered-down" for the sake of Tourists ....Instead we were taken to outskirts of Osaka and Sapporo to popular Local's fav destinations
In every city, these big markets are tourist traps. Food is more expensive, often lower quality and we can't even find a seat to eat. Why people more for a way inferior dining experience is beyond me.
