Toyota Avensis D4D Cold Start. Extreme hard start. Start Problem? Lithuania 

I think it's probably a problem with the fuel pressure. Most likely a worn fuel pump or a problem with the fuel pressure valve. Of course, other failures are possible.

Good guess. The glow plugs were replaced a year ago ... Probably something with the injection system or just the piston rings will wear out ... In one word the problem - TOYOTA ... :/

No. Just the weather warmed up and started well again. There is probably nothing better to want from a Toyota engine with high mileage ... however, this is not the good old 1.9 TDI :)

@@84garage. i should start at -25 like it 0c-5c outside. you really need new glowplugs and glowplug control unit

True, but turning the starter mindlessly for a long time and still lighting it is not an option.
